Qi Refinement
Cultivation is the process of drawing in raw Qi and refining it into Pure Qi within the dantian (energy core located in the abdomen area) through breathing techniques. The purer the Qi, the more powerful the techniques. Weak cultivators have impure, "murky" Qi that wastes energy or leaks.
Qi Applications
There are three fundamental ways Qi is used:
Body Reinforcement – Qi is used to harden muscles, bones, and skin. Boosts defense, speed, and resilience.
Weapon Imbuement – Qi is channeled into weapons to sharpen, strengthen, or release energy attacks.
Strike Augmentation – Qi is condensed into palms, fists, legs, etc., to deliver devastating force or waves of energy.
Martial Arts
Using the Qi applications in complex patterns to create sophisticated attacks or defences.
PROGRESSION
Initiate – Learning to absorb and circulate Qi.
Refiner – Able to purify Qi and use basic Martial Arts.
Adept – Mastery of one Qi application (body, weapon, or strike).
Master – Combines multiple applications fluidly.
Ascendant – Qi is in it's purest state, thus amplifying the power of Qi applications. Hence, even if a Master and Ascendant use similar techniques, the Ascendant will overpower the Master due to Qi purity.
NOTE: When the Qi of one Martial Artist clashes with another directly, the purer Qi overpowers the weaker one.
