Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Relics of the Past

Several months had passed. And according to my calculations… there was only one month left. One month before the apocalypse.

In that time, our camp had transformed.Over 500 new people had joined our community. Most passed Grandpa Patricio's test without issue. A few showed slight darkness in their hearts—but nothing dangerous. Just pain and sorrow that hadn't yet healed.

We had also stockpiled mountains of medicine, supplies, and weapons. Our knowledge and skills had reached levels we never imagined.Even some of the teachers we had hired awakened, and once the truth was revealed, they chose to move in with their families.

It wasn't a camp anymore. It had become a fortress, nearly ready to withstand anything.

I had done almost everything I could.Except for one thing.

In our past life, Matías and I discovered that certain historical artifacts awakened during the apocalypse. Some granted powers. Others gave blessings—or curses.

There were two items, in particular, I had to recover.

The first was a ring I used to wear.We had found it in the home of a Mapuche craftsman. It increased physical attributes by 30%.I knew exactly where to find it.The shop still existed. The craftsman still wore it, unaware of its true nature. My father made a generous offer, and the man accepted without hesitation.

The second was more difficult.A book hidden beneath an old church in Valparaíso.A book that, at the end of our lives, I realized had sent me back in time.

The church was closed to the public, damaged by recent earthquakes. My father donated a large sum for restoration, with one condition: that his son—"a history lover"—could visit the site. They agreed.

It took hours, but eventually, we found the book. And with it, other ancient relics. Maybe useless… or maybe invaluable. We took them all.

Still, I needed more.Only 10 days remained.

Together with my father, we entered numerous art and artifact auctions. We bought everything that seemed even remotely powerful.Books. Shields. Daggers. Rings. Earrings. Necklaces. Crowns.

But three artifacts stood out.

The first: a pendant worn by Queen Nefertari of Egypt. The second: St. Edward's Crown, once used by the kings of England. And the third… a legendary relic:The Sword of King Arthur.

No one knew if it was real. But I would know… the moment I touched it.

The apocalypse was closing in.And we were no longer mere survivors.

We were heirs to something far greater—A legacy that reached beyond time itself.
