A few moments later Shane and I arrive at a new place, it seems to be a restaurant with a bar section and an area for fine dining. It looks sort of expensive, it's crazy he got a reservation at a place like this. Well, I'm not surprised because Shane's family is filthy rich so he must have some really strong connections himself. His surname alone 'whales' would instantly make the reservation possible.
Shane and I walk into the restaurant, and soon enough a kind usher takes us to our table. The place has a nice ambiance and soft music is playing, it's so nice and aesthetically pleasing.
Our order comes moments later, I let out a sigh of relief because this is what every girl wants. A man by her side who could pull strings just to see a smile on her face. Shane's hazel brown eyes are fixed on me while he gives me a soft smile.
"I know how much you love fine dining, and I don't like it when you get stressed out," he sighs.
"It's difficult to communicate with you and I'm tensed when you get tensed Olivia, believe it or not." he continues.
"I believe you'll do well this semester. Your grades are even going to surprise you, but you need to take it easy." his eyes are still fixed on me while he stretches his hand over to me and takes mine in his.
"Thank you." I let out, knowing I didn't ever do anything to deserve someone like him.
He ruffled his hair and sheepishly replied to me with a
"No need Olivia, you're the only one I got and I would do anything to see a smile on your face."
I don't know but Shane appears to be the perfect man, he's drop-dead gorgeous, emotionally intelligent all together.
His eyes are still fixed on me before I tell him
"We should start eating so our food doesn't get cold."
It took him a few moments to reply to me, it was as if he was stuck in a trance. His pupils were dilated, and he had a soft smile on his face. I could feel he was admiring me like I was everything he could ever dream of and he ever wanted.
"Yes, we should," He says briskly, visibly flinching. I could tell he just come back to reality.
The look I saw on his face some moments ago was so endearing, if I didn't know how much he loved me as his best friend I would think he was in love with me. But I'm sure that would just be absurd.
Shane has never seemed to have an interest in women for as long as I can remember. He has never been the womanizing type, I would think he was gay if he had never had a girlfriend but he has though, just once or twice. Still, he was never the romantic type and didn't seem to be in love.
Shane and I just eat our meals, listening to the calm music playing in the background, we both give each other soft smiles through the course of our meal. As if we were both letting each other know how much we appreciate the decent environment and decent meal we were consuming.
Soon enough we were done with our meals and we ordered some side dishes. I told him I would just go outside for a bit, I was freezing because the restaurant was cold. I needed to warm up before eating the remaining side dishes.
His hazel brown eyes follow me as I take a walk out of the restaurant, I could tell he wanted to go with me but he couldn't.
I go over to Shane's car leaning over it while swiping through apps on my phone. Soon after I put down my phone and slid it into my pockets, just trying to get enough fresh air before walking back in.
Suddenly a man appears just before my eyes. He's about my height, looks like a truck driver, has a pot belly, and smells like he took a bath with alcohol each day. His clothes look dirty and I'm not liking the way he keeps staring at me like I'm something to eat.
"Pretty girl." He lets out with a raspy voice, coming closer to me.
He suddenly grabs my hand and holds it tightly in the twinkle of an eye. The next thing I know he has a knife directly in front of my face.
"Don't scream or I cut." He smirks.
His disgusting breath just baptized my nasal cavities, and I was in proper view of his bad dentition.
"Please," I reply to him. I'm in shock and my blood pressure just went up.
He cut me at the base of my lips and I could feel blood rushing down the right side of my chin. My eyes are filled with tears, while I look at this terrible-looking drunk, silently trying to beg him to leave me alone.
His grip gets tighter on me while he comes closer and places his head on my shoulder and his knife is on my belly. I don't dare to move fearing what would happen if I did, he could be a serial killer of some sort.
My phone starts vibrating in my pockets, I can tell it's Shane. The fat man starts pulling me with him in no time and I see myself helplessly being taken away from the restaurant, now Shane's car is almost out of view. I was paralyzed with fear, my phone was still vibrating but I wouldn't dare take it out.
All of a sudden I feel a rough palm curl up around my wrist and yank me out of his grasp. Thank God Shane came in time to rescue me from this drunk. His palms are curled around my wrist while I'm still trying to gasp for air. All of a sudden I can now breathe again and my blood pressure comes down. I look up to thank Shane but soon enough I realize it wasn't him.
The drunk guy swings a knife at this guy, but he immediately catches his arm within a second and twists his wrist causing the knife to fall to the floor. While his arm is in the air I notice a tattoo on his wrist. It looks like a triangle inside a star and a circle around it, with the letter 'J' at its circumference.
This male right before me towers above me by more than a foot, has pitch-black hair and I can see incredibly chiseled jawlines, just like that of Clark Kent in Superman. His features are clearly defined with his perfectly arched eyebrows just above his piercing green eyes.
Who is this stranger saving me and why is he so handsome?
"Olivia." I hear in the background and it's the sound of Shane's voice.
