FADE IN:
RAE'S FARM – EARLY MORNING
A quiet, humble farm surrounded by misty hills. The sky is still pale with morning light. It looks so peaceful…a gosh of wind moves against the direction of the trees.
Rae (early 20s, rough clothes, cropped hair, sharp yet kind golden eyes) jolts awake in bed. She breathes hard, like she's been running in her sleep.
*Her hands twitch. The curtains blow inward—but the windows are closed.
She sits up, looks around.
RAE: sigh! Not again...
Why am I having this same nightmare,
She sigh! Holding up her head in her hands . She got up from her bed reluctantly
Rae pours herself tea with slightly shaking hands. The spoon stirs on its own when she glances at it. She flinches, and falls flat. (to herself)
I'm not crazy!! I'm not crazy. It's just... wind. That's all.
It all stopped for a moment
Everything was silent she could hear her heart beating faster—a gosh of wind blows through the cracks of a door, hovering over her shoulders and whispers..
----
Rae walks out barefoot into the grass. A worn journal at hand, She flips to a page—sketches of strange symbols, dreams she's written down in half-sentences. This doesn't make sense
She pauses. The wind stands still.it was Total silence.
Then—a voice, faint but familiar, older, gentle.
SPIRITwhispers (V.O.):Your name... was not given by chance.
RAE:Who said that?
SPIRIT (V.O.): Your blood remembers. Even if you do not.
A swirl of air rises around her, forming a vague human shape for a split second before vanishing. Rae stumbles back, heart pounding with fear.
She suddenly had a short vision
Flashback snippets: a blurred face, a temple ceiling, a baby being passed away in the night. Nothing clear. Only pieces
---SPIRIT (V.O.) the world is breaking . And it needs... the child of the High Priest. Remember who u are
Rae looks up, eyes wide.
RAE:What ! High what!
WO wo you got to be kidding
Is that I can hear you talk?
watching the wind stir the trees outside.
BLACK CAT:You've always had power. It just... waited. Like good wine. Or revenge.
RAE:Okay this is insane
But why do I feel strange
BLACK CAT:Because he's gone. And what was locked... has been opened.
RAE:You mean the whispering ghost? The floating dirt? That freak-storm rage-whirl that flattened my cabbage patch?
BLACK CAT:That was you. All you. Well—mostly.
The cat jumps gracefully down onto the bed.
You're the daughter of the priest
Rae stands in the field, eyes closed. The wind circles her gently, then with more force, until grass bends around her in a perfect spiral.
She opens her eyes—calm. Ready... ish.
RAe:Okay. Let's figure out what the hell I'm supposed to do.
The cat purrs at her feet.
BLACK CAT
One step at a time, my stormborn girl.
---
Rae paces. The wind presses against the windows—not angry, just watching. The cat lounges on the table, licking its paw.
RAE:So what, I throw a tantrum and plants explode now?
BLACK CAT:Only if you mean it. Magic isn't obedient, Rae. It's honest. It listens to your heart, not your orders.
Rae stops. Her hands glow faintly. She clenches her fists to snuff it out.
RAE:I never asked for this.
BLACK CAT:Doesn't matter. The world did.
Rae sits in the grass, arms wrapped around her knees. The cat settles beside her quietly. No sarcasm now, just presence.
RAE
You came to me when everything started to fall apart.
A pause. She looks at the cat. Really sees it.
RAE (softly):You're the only thing that doesn't scare me right now The cat blinks, calmly.
BLACK CAT:I was sent to protect you. But you can name me, if you'd like. Names are power, after all.
Rae thinks. The wind rustles the grass around her. A memory stirs: a woman's voice, humming a lullaby, a word in another language—something that meant "safe."
RAE
Nyra.
The wind stills. The cat purrs deeply, like thunder rumbling under earth.
BLACK CAT (smiling)
Nyra. I like that.
CUT TO: A Distant Realm – THE EDGE OF CALLARIA
Princess Elara stands at the brink of a shattered magical gate. The sky rages behind her. She grips a sword, eyes hard.
ELARA
Find her.
---
INT. RAE'S CABIN – NIGHT (LATER)
Rae lies in bed, staring at the ceiling. Nyra sits at the foot, watching her like a silent guardian.
She let out a heavy sigh sounds like hell.
NYRA
It'll be heaven, too. You just haven't met the reason yet.
