At midnight on the sixth day, I couldn't resist. I went to the dock.
The air stank of rot, like a million dead fish whispering in unison. I lifted my phone to capture the foggy waters, but nothing showed.
Then came the sound—a deep, trembling chant, like a tongue praying beneath the sea:
