Prologue – A Life Wasted
Kaito slumped in his chair, staring at the defeat screen on League of Legends.
"Defeat."
Another loss. Another night wasted. His room was a mess—empty energy drink cans, instant noodle cups, and a dim monitor casting a pale glow on his tired face.
"What am I even doing with my life?"
He had no job, no friends outside of online gaming, and no real purpose. Just endless matches, chasing a rank that never seemed to matter.
With a sigh, he clicked "Play Again."
The moment the queue popped, his screen glitched violently. A surge of blue light erupted from the monitor, engulfing him.
"What the—?!"
His vision blurred. The world twisted.
And then—silence.
Kaito groaned, his body aching as if he had been thrown into a wall. He forced his eyes open—and froze.
This wasn't his room.
He lay on soft grass beneath a golden sunset, towering trees surrounding him. The air was crisp, fresh—nothing like the stale atmosphere of his apartment.
"Where… am I?"
A sudden rustling in the bushes made him jolt upright.
"Who goes there?" a sharp voice demanded.
From the shadows emerged a woman with flowing golden hair, clad in silver armor, a massive sword resting on her shoulder.
Kaito's breath hitched.
"That's… Lux? No, wait—Garen? No…"
The woman narrowed her eyes. "You don't look like a Noxian spy. Identify yourself."
Kaito's mind raced.
This is Runeterra. And that's…
"Fiora?" he blurted out.
Her grip on her sword tightened. "How do you know my name?"
Before he could answer, a distant roar echoed through the forest. The ground trembled.
Fiora's expression darkened. "The Mist approaches. We don't have time for this—come with me if you want to live."
Kaito had no choice but to follow.
As they ran, he noticed something strange—his body felt different. Lighter. Stronger.
And then, a voice echoed in his mind:
"System Activated."
A translucent blue screen appeared before him:
[Welcome, Player. You have been granted the power of champions. Select an ability to manifest.]
A list of familiar icons appeared—Flash, Ignite, Q-W-E-R abilities of every champion he had ever played.
"No way…"
He grinned.
"I can use League skills in real life?"
His journey had just begun.
