Chapter 5 - Enso Progress

Enso had learned a lot from his mother. Apparently, after Minato became known as the "Yellow Flash," the tide of war shifted in Konoha's favour.

The war ended with an armistice agreement between Iwagakure and Konoha, but tensions lingered. Each Hidden Village kept its guard up, suspicious of the others. Entry into any village was tightly controlled, and visitors required the Hokage's permission to stay.

In Konoha, Minato had recently taken up the mantle of Hokage, with Hiruzen officially stepping down after the war. Despite the enormous responsibility, Minato had proven to be one of the most efficient Hokage in history, signing his last document of the day just as Enso and his mother, Enya, were brought to his office.

Minato already knew that Enya was an old acquaintance of Kushina. Without delay, he oversaw their residency permits and expedited the paperwork. He also arranged for Enso to be enrolled in the Ninja Academy starting next term.

After everything was settled, Minato extended a warm invitation to their home. Kushina was overjoyed—she hadn't seen Enya since settling in the Hidden Leaf. Enya had been like a big sister to her, often helping her practice sealing techniques back in Uzushiogakure. The two embraced as Enya congratulated Kushina on her pregnancy and shared advice from her own experience raising Enso.

Enso, meanwhile, was on his best behaviour.

He followed Kushina closely as she brought him into the kitchen, where the sharp aroma of broth and soy filled the air. Minato was already there, stirring a large pot with a calm, practised ease. His presence radiated the kind of peace only someone who had faced war and chosen kindness could carry. Enso's eyes lit up at the sight of him—this wasn't just any man. This was the legendary Yellow Flash of the Leaf.

Minato offered a warm smile. "Hungry?"

Enso blinked, nodded quickly, and then without hesitation, began helping. He fetched vegetables, stirred rice, even taste-tested under Minato's guidance. To anyone watching, it looked more like a father and son than a Hokage and a guest's child.

While the two women caught up in the other room, Minato and Enso fell into an easy rhythm. What began as polite small talk quickly turned into a stream of eager questions.

"How fast were you, really?" Enso asked, eyes wide.

Minato chuckled. "Fast enough that people stopped seeing me. But I wasn't born that way—it took years of mastering space-time formulas and training until it became second nature."

Enso absorbed every word like a sponge. His curiosity was boundless, his mind sharp. From the structure of the Academy to the way shinobi teams were formed, he asked it all. But then came a question that gave Minato pause.

"How do I learn stronger jutsu after the Academy?" Enso asked, frowning a little. "They say we only learn the basics there."

Minato set his ladle down, clearly impressed by the question. "Well, you're right. The Academy is for fundamentals—chakra control, clone technique, and transformation. But real growth happens after graduation."

He explained how each Genin team was placed under a Jōnin sensei, a high-level ninja responsible for nurturing their potential. "If you perform well, your sensei might pass down techniques that align with your chakra nature. And if their affinity doesn't match yours, you can use your mission credits to access techniques from the village archive that suit you better."

Enso's brow furrowed thoughtfully. "So... I can use mission points to learn from scrolls?"

"Exactly," Minato said with a nod. "You earn the right to grow stronger through service. But there's another way—mentorship. If someone takes a personal liking to you, they might train you directly. That's how many great ninja inherit signature jutsu."

Enso lit up at the thought. "Like how the Third taught Jiraiya, and Jiraiya taught you?"

Minato's eyes twinkled. "Exactly like that."

A brief silence passed before Enso asked about the clans of the village. His voice was more tentative this time, uncertain.

Minato looked at him closely, sensing something deeper beneath the question.

"You've got strong blood," Minato said gently. "Senju and Uzumaki. That alone puts you among the rarest of shinobi."

Enso nodded slowly. In truth, he had inherited some A-rank techniques from his father's memories—fragments and instincts passed down through chakra. He hadn't used them yet. Not because he couldn't, but because he didn't know if he should.

And so, part of his reason for asking all these questions was simple: he wanted to train legally. Not as a rogue, not as someone who stumbled across forbidden scrolls—but as a true shinobi of Konoha.

Minato understood.

"Any technique you inherit from bloodline or memory—if it exists in Konoha's records—you're allowed to train it. If it's unknown or from outside the village, you'll need to register it officially, or have it exchanged."

"What about forbidden techniques?" Enso asked carefully.

Minato's expression darkened slightly, but he kept his voice calm. "Those are sealed for a reason. They're either too dangerous to the user… or to everyone else. If you come across something like that, bring it to your sensei. They'll know what to do."

Enso nodded. That seemed fair.

Later that day, while Minato rested with Naruto's baby supplies and scrolls scattered across the room, Kushina took Enya aside for a quick talk. It wasn't long before Enso heard his name being called from the hallway.

He walked in to find Kushina looking more radiant than ever. There was warmth in her eyes, something maternal, but fierce too—like a lioness watching over a cub.

"You're just like me," she said, ruffling his hair with a mixture of amusement. "You've got the same chakra nature."

"Really?"

She nodded. "It's not common to match perfectly with someone else, but when it happens… It's fate's way of saying something."

Enya stood nearby, smiling softly. Enso glanced between them, sensing something important was about to be said.

"Kushina will be your mentor," Enya said. "I've discussed it with her. You'll train under her guidance—after she's done giving birth, of course."

Enso's jaw dropped. "R-Really?!"

Kushina folded her arms, mock stern. "Only if you promise not to slack off. I don't train just anyone, ya know."

He saluted instinctively. "Yes, ma'am!"

In truth, Kushina had never been given a Genin team. Despite her skill and strength, her status as a Jinchūriki made the higher-ups cautious. Instead, she had been relegated to the sealing corps, doing critical work—but far from the battlefield and mentoring roles she once dreamed of.

Having Enso as her student felt like destiny, correcting a long-overdue mistake.

"I'll start preparing your training regimen after Naruto is born," she said. "But I want something in return."

Kushina turned to Enya. "I want you to assist with my child's delivery. You're the best Medical Ninja within Uzushiogakure and the Uzumaki after all. It feel safer with you around."

Enya's smile deepened. "You have my word."

Enso frowned slightly upon hearing Kushina's request—after all, he knew exactly what would happen on that fateful day.. Still, he quickly returned to his normal expression. Enso was confident in his medical ninjutsu. Not to mention, he still retained the Doctor's memories from Akudama Drive. After returning home, he will explore the memories with great detail and learn everything he can.

Then, as if following tradition, Enya placed her hand gently on Enso's shoulder and pushed him forward.

"Go," she said. "Pay respect to your new master."

Enso dropped to his knees before Kushina without hesitation. The red-haired kunoichi smiled down at him, pride shining in her eyes.

"From today onward," she declared, "you're my student. Train hard, and I'll make you strong enough to protect the people you care about."

Enso bowed respectfully. "Since Minato is Kushina-sama's husband," he said with sincerity, "it's only right that I call him Master too."

Minato didn't correct him. Joking aside, he was genuinely grateful to the Uzumaki clan for sharing their sacred sealing techniques—and even more so for Kushina, who was now not only carrying their son but also glowing with joy at the idea of raising her disciple.

It's been a month since Enso arrived at the Hidden Leaf. During this time, Enya was assigned to a medical team working at Konoha Hospital.

Enso was left to his own devices. His schedule had changed once again. It seemed that his body had adapted to his training routine, and he could now release about 10% of his true physical strength.

This increase was huge, as his previous 5% increase had already made him stronger than any Jonin in terms of physical strength.

With his enhanced strength, Enso completed his routines faster than ever. To accommodate his newfound strength, Enso increased the number of sets he needed to complete by three times the original amount.

This increase in physical strength helped him unlock some new skills from his memory. One of the techniques from Heracles became available to him.

In a sense, it wasn't Heracles' own technique but one he had witnessed during his lifetime, namely 'Comet Form (Dromeus Komētēs).'

The 'Comet Form' put a lot of strain on Enso's leg muscles, but to overcome this shortcoming, he applied 'Ashigaru' from Nanami's memories to create a new technique.

'Ashigaru' is a technique focused on weight shifting. In the anime, Nanami applied this to Kyotoryu, enabling her to kill her opponent 272 times before they hit the ground.

With the application of this technique, he transformed 'Comet Form' into a new technique, which he named 'Void Step'—a pure Taijutsu footwork technique.

Enso had to run 100km a day, exhausting all his physical strength before activating 'Void Step' to run an extra 10km.

Enso's body adapted faster than he could have imagined. After a month of relentless training, he noticed that his muscles were no longer screaming in pain after each session. Instead, there was a strange satisfaction in the soreness—proof that his strength was expanding beyond its limits. He had always known he was strong, but now, there was a new power in him, one that made his every movement sharper and more deliberate.

The first time he tried the Void Step, it felt like a jolt of electricity running through his legs. His muscles screamed, the strain nearly unbearable, but his body kept pushing. It wasn't until he took a step that sent him soaring into a series of rapid, fluid motions that he realised: this wasn't just about physical power. It was his Migeiko at work, guiding him toward a perfect adaptation of the technique. With every stride, he could feel the control growing—like the power of his ancestors flowing through him.

But the toll it took on his body was still immense. Void Step was meant to be a fleeting, explosive burst of energy, but Enso had found that if he added his own twist—using the principles of Ashigaru, shifting his weight with every step—he could extend the power for far longer. It didn't come without a cost. After every run, his legs trembled, but he had learned how to push through that barrier. His stamina and resilience had grown exponentially, and the satisfaction of completing 10km more than his usual distance was a reminder of how far he'd come.

This took him the whole morning, and after lunch, he hit the daily acrobatic and muscle-building exercises, which took 3 hours. After finishing all of this, he headed to Kushina's house to help her with cooking. Enso met with his mother. The familiar aroma of Kushina's cooking filled the air, and Enso couldn't help but smile.

It had been a long day, but sitting with Enya and Kushina over dinner, he felt a warmth that soothed the ache in his muscles.

Kushina had invited him and his family to have dinner with them regularly, saying that she wanted more people at the dinner table.

This didn't come as a surprise to Enya, after all, Kushina is a Jinchuriki, and her only friend is probably Mikoto Uchiha. But now, they have their own families and can't hang out like they used to.

Enya used her savings to buy a house one block away from Kushina's house. It has to be said that, as a medical nin, Enya's bank account has a lot of zeros in it.

Enso was shocked when he witnessed it during the house payment. It seemed that his mother was loaded with Ryō.

Every day, his mom would join Kushina for dinner before bringing him home after work. Kushina and Enya got along very well. Minato also came home very often, showing his competency in handling Hokage duties.

Back home, Enya would teach her kid some sealing jutsu for an hour a day. She had taught him 'Finger Carving Seal,' a technique that helped him advance his chakra control, along with Enclosing Techniques.

Due to Enso's competency in learning, he was required to practice Enclosing Techniques using the Finger Carving Seal. This made it quite difficult for him despite possessing 'Migeiko.'

It's an unorthodox way of using sealing jutsu, as even his mother was unable to complete such a task. But Enso's potential made Enya firmly believe that her child would be able to do it without a doubt.

After practicing for a whole month, Enso successfully completed his first Enclosing Technique using the 'Finger Carving Method.'

He now needed to pick up the speed to create the enclosing seal. Once Enso successfully made his first Enclosing Technique, Enya taught him 'Chakra Scalpel,' the only medical ninjutsu that is offensive in nature.

After learning chakra control techniques for so long, Enso easily learned the technique without any difficulty. His chakra scalpel was strong enough to break through wood and stone with ease, similar to Kabuto's mastery.

Normally, Chakra Scalpel can only be used to cut skin. Kabuto's mastery can be considered unorthodox. Enso's chakra scalpel is exceptionally strong, and his mother credits it to his chakra property, which seems to emit a strong sharpness by nature.

Enso knew full well that this could be credited to Licht sword's origin. His chakra scalpel could probably do as much damage as Chidori.

Unlike normal Shinobi, who only use medical ninjutsu due to the fine control of their chakra, Enso knew that it utilized both Yin and Yang release.

Healing ninjutsu works by using chakra in its raw form to stimulate the body's healing properties. Users without both natural affinities of Yin and Yang will have limited healing prowess.

Enso hadn't tested his chakra affinity, but he was very sure that he could utilize both Yin and Yang release, as his healing prowess was stronger than his mother's, even though both used the same techniques and amounts of chakra.

It's not really the amount of chakra utilized in Mystical Palm, but in reality, how much chakra they can balance to stimulate healing.

After all, chakra is made up of physical energy and spiritual energy. Medical-nin with only Yin or Yang release would have to use more chakra to invoke healing properties.

This makes it time-consuming and takes them too long before invoking healing properly. Once the user fails to balance out their chakra, it's possible to injure the patient's body.

Enso's perfect control of chakra made him able to invoke two different types of chakra scalpel. By balancing the chakra to a 7:3 ratio, He could shift the ratio—70% physical or 70% spiritual—to customize his Chakra Scalpel for cutting matter or affecting senses. But this approach took a lot of effort for Enso, despite possessing Migeiko. This is due to its nature as a new technique that he had to derive for himself.

Failure is common, and Enso was not new to this sensation. Before gaining Migeiko, Enso was just an ordinary human, and despite his intelligence and talents, he had experienced this sensation multiple times in training. But practice makes perfect, and along with his current advantages, it helped him learn faster.

Both chakra scalpel types produce different colors—one is black, and the other is white, which provide different effects. The white chakra scalpel can cut off one sense, while the black scalpel can cleanly cut physical objects with ease. Both are strong enough to destroy solid objects, albeit one cuts from the inside, while the other cuts from the outside.

The major issue is that it consumes chakra too quickly, despite having Senju and Uzumaki bloodlines and a large chakra reserve. It falls into the category of chakra flow techniques, but it's so deadly that its rank would fall under a peak A-Rank due to the use of 'Mystical Palm' and 'Chakra Scalpel' as the base.

Taking the next step would be impossible for Enso, despite having an initial idea of how it could progress. The most common approach is adding Nature Transformation to it, or he could merge it into one. But without anything that he could take inspiration from, taking any of those steps is close to impossible. Enso also tried to compress it, similar to Kakashi's Chidori, but because it lacked the nature transformation and the nature of 'Chakra Scalpel,' all of his attempts ended in failure.

These chakra scalpel techniques are so powerful that they give onlookers goosebumps just by looking at them. Enya can clearly sense the danger of these new scalpel variants, but somehow, she also feels a slight sense of relief, knowing that her child has a powerful technique in his arsenal.

She was very proud of Enso's accomplishments, as her child is so powerful even before officially entering the Ninja Academy.

She warned Enso not to use these new jutsu openly before becoming a Jonin, but allowed him to use the normal version of chakra scalpel, saying that hiding one trump card is good for a Shinobi. Unless he was in a life-threatening situation, using such a technique would exhaust him too quickly.

Not to mention that there are similar jutsu out there that would give him the same cutting effect despite being of a lower rank. Being a Shinobi doesn't mean that he needs to attack with the strongest techniques possible, but also assess the situation and use what works in combat.

Looking at him, she felt a sense of accomplishment for having trained a Shinobi of such high caliber.

Enso named the new techniques 'Severing Blades' and 'Soul Cutter' respectively, as changing the chakra ratio completely changed the true nature of the original Chakra Scalpel. Both are surely at the peak of A-Rank techniques.

Enso's life in Konoha had taken on a new rhythm. Each day was a cycle of intense training, learning new techniques, and strengthening his physical body. With the Void Step, his movements became almost otherworldly. His adaptability, bolstered by the Migeiko, allowed him to refine techniques that had once been beyond his reach. But even with all these accomplishments, Enso knew that there was much more to learn and perfect.

The constant grind of his training and the pressures of becoming stronger were exhausting, but Enso took solace in the support of his family. His mother, Enya, continued to guide him with her sharp knowledge of sealing jutsu, chakra control, and medical ninjutsu. Every day, he honed his chakra control techniques, and his growing strength became a testament to his relentless efforts.

Still, there was one thing that Enso struggled to control: his power. As he pushed his limits, it became harder to contain the raw potential that surged within him. Enya's warnings about using his most powerful techniques only when absolutely necessary weighed on him. Though he was proud of his new jutsu—Severing Blades and Soul Cutter—he understood the cost of wielding such power.

They were devastating techniques, but they drained him quickly, a price he wasn't always willing to pay in every encounter. He thought of looking for other Ninjutsu that would consume less Chakra, but without even step into Ninja Academy this approach also meet with another threshold. But Enso was not worry, he is safe in Konoha and his mother also living a fulfilling life.

Enso also began to question his growth. How long could he continue to improve at this pace before hitting another dead end? The feeling of reaching the edge of his potential had become familiar, and Enso couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency to break through those limits. His training wasn't just about proving his strength—it was about securing the safety of those he cared about.

He knew that as the world of Shinobi continued to grow more dangerous, his resolve and power would be tested in ways he couldn't yet foresee. Though Enso had only scratched the surface of his potential, these new techniques were more than just tools—they were proof of his evolution. And he would keep sharpening them, in silence, until the world was ready to witness the storm he would become.
