Cherreads

Chapter 22 - FLUSTERED WILLY

The crowd continued to chant "SNOLIVER! SNOLIVER!" as Snow quickly went over to hold Oliver's arm walked round the beach as they cheering continues and Oliver could only chuckle.

Oliver leaned over and whispered, "You know, Snow, you're kind of a rockstar."

Snow grinned. "Hey, someone's got to bring a little excitement to this competition."

As they walked, Snow couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.

She had stood up for what she believed in, and she had come out on top.

And as for Oliver, well... let's just say that Snow was happy to have him by her side.

After the excitement of the competition, the four - William, Oliver, Snow, and Minnie - decided to celebrate Oliver's victory with a fun-filled day of adventure.

Their first stop was a trendy beachside cafe, where they indulged in delicious brunch treats and laughed about the morning's events.

Snow teased Oliver about his "sketchy" ride, and Oliver pretended to be offended.

"Hey, my ride was not sketchy! Snow's just biased because she's my biggest fan."

Minnie playfully rolled her eyes. "Please, Oliver, you know Snow's just looking out for you."

William chuckled. "That's once in a lifetime opportunity right, Snow?" Snow quickly gave him a fist bump and smiled quicky holding unto him to make Minnie jealous.

As they finished their brunch, Snow suggested they head to a nearby amusement park.

"Who's up for some rollercoaster action?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Oliver grinned. "I'm so in. Let's do it!"

The others agreed, and they spent the afternoon screaming with delight on rollercoasters, playing games, and just enjoying each other's company.

As the sun began to set, they decided to cap off the day with a friendly game of laser tag.

They divided into two teams - Oliver and Minnie versus Snow and William.

The game was intense, with all four friends running around, laughing and shouting. In the end, Oliver and Minnie emerged victorious, but only just.

As they left the laser tag arena, Minnie turned to Snow and said, "You're such a cheater! You and William totally collaborated to win."

Snow grinned mischievously. "Hey, all's fair in love and laser tag."

The four of them laughed and joked as they walked off into the sunset, already planning their next adventure together.

The next day, a sense of anticipation filled the air as a cell door swung open, and a man was released from his confines. The necessary procedures were swiftly completed, and he was escorted out of the building, flanked by his loyal driver and bodyguards.

As they stepped into the bright sunlight, the driver and bodyguards greeted him with a mixture of respect and familiarity. "Welcome back, boss," they chimed in unison.

The man, clearly accustomed to being in charge, smiled slightly as he nodded in acknowledgement. "Thanks, guys. It's good to be back."

He asked a series of minor questions as he made his way towards the waiting van, his tone calm and collected, but his eyes betraying a hint of curiosity.

"Is everything in order?" he asked, his gaze sweeping over the surrounding area.

"Yes, sir," his driver replied. "Everything is as it should be. We've taken care of all the arrangements."

The man nodded, his eyes narrowing slightly. "And what about the information I requested? Has it been obtained?"

His bodyguard spoke up, "Yes, sir. We've managed to gather the necessary information about the girl."

The man's expression remained neutral, but a flicker of interest danced in his eyes. "Good," he said, his voice low and even. "I'll review the details once we're underway."

As he slid into the van, his driver and bodyguards followed closely behind. The man settled into his seat, his eyes scanning the surrounding area before focusing on the folder in his lap.

"So, what's the situation?" he asked, his voice a little louder now.

His driver glanced in the rearview mirror. "Everything's quiet, sir. No issues to report."

The man nodded, his eyes scanning the documents in the folder. "And what about the girl? What have we learned?"

His bodyguard leaned forward. "We've managed to gather some intel on her, sir."

The man's eyes narrowed. "And the mom?"

His bodyguard hesitated before responding. "We're not entirely sure, sir. But we're working on it."

The man nodded thoughtfully, his eyes returning to the documents in the folder. The van fell silent, the only sound the hum of the engine and the occasional rustle of papers.

As they drove away from the curb, the man's gaze turned inward, his mind already focused on the tasks ahead.

Just as the girls were settling into their suite, they received an unexpected visitor - Minnie's mom. The girls welcomed her warmly, offering her a seat and a refreshing drink.

Violet, being her usual curious self, couldn't help but notice that Minnie's mom was wearing a scarf that covered one side of her face.

"Minnie's mom, I couldn't help but notice your scarf," Violet said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"Are you doing some kind of cultural exchange program or something?"

Minnie's eyes darted to her mom, and she suddenly understood what was going on.

She quickly intervened, asking the girls to give her a minute to talk to her mom privately.

Violet and Snow quickly excused themselves, leaving Minnie alone with her mom.

As soon as the door closed behind them, Minnie turned to her mom with a concerned expression.

"Mom, what's going on?" Minnie asked, her voice low and urgent. "Why are you wearing that scarf?"

Her mom hesitated before responding, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's nothing..."

Minnie's eyes widened with anticipation as she waited for her mom to continue.

"Girls please, could you wait outside while I speak with my mom." Minnie pleaded to the girls while staring at her mom.

"Okay?? But is everything alright??" Snow asked her when she got closer to her and Minnie nodded in affirmative.

Violet walked away from the hostel, Snow's curiosity got the better of her.

She decided to follow Violet secretly, wondering who she was meeting and what was going on.

Snow trailed behind Violet, careful not to be seen. They walked through the winding corridors of the building, finally stopping at a secluded corner.

Violet stopped and turned to face someone, her voice rising in anger.

Snow strained her ears to listen, but the conversation was hushed. She managed to catch a few snippets, however, and her eyes widened in surprise. The voice on the other end sounded eerily familiar - it was Leo.

Violet was shouting at him to stop calling her, but Leo was adamant. "I wish I could stop, Violet," Leo said, his voice low and husky. "But I just can't get you off my head."

Violet's response was furious. "You need to move on, Leo. I was never interested in you . Why can't you just leave me alone?"

Leo sighed, his voice laced with frustration. "Because I care about you, Violet. And I know you feel the same way."

Violet snorted. "I don't feel anything for you, Leo. You're just a mistake I made in the past."

Snow's eyes sparkled with intrigue. What was going on between Violet and Leo?

And why was Violet so adamant about keeping him at arm's length?

As she watched, Violet turned to storm off, but Leo caught her arm. "Violet, wait," he said, his voice low and urgent.

Violet spun around, her eyes blazing. "Let me go, Leo. I mean it."

Leo hesitated, then released her arm. Violet turned and walked away, leaving Leo standing alone in the corridor.

Snow watched as Leo stood there, his eyes fixed on Violet's retreating back. She could sense the longing in his gaze, the desperation.

As she turned to sneak back to the hostel, she met with Snow who came out of her hiding space.

Minnie's eyes blazed with anger and determination as she confronted her mom. "You were hurt, and then you walked away, and now you're wearing this scarf to cover up the bruises. He did it again right."

Minnie's mom tried to defend herself, but Minnie wouldn't have it. "No, Mom, enough! Stop defending him every time. Stop making excuses for him."

Minnie's voice rose, her emotions boiling over. "You're still defending him, even after everything he's done to you. Why, Mom? Why are you still protecting him?"

Her mom tried to calm her down, but Minnie was having none of it. "No, Mom, I won't calm down. I won't stop until I make sure he pays for what he's done to you."

Minnie's mom pleaded with her, "Please, baby, don't say such things. It's not his fault..."

But Minnie cut her off, her words spilling out in a torrent of anger and hurt. "It's not his fault? Are you kidding me, Mom? He's been beating you for years, and you're still defending him?"

Minnie's mom tried to explain, but Minnie wasn't listening. She was too caught up in her own emotions, her own desire for justice.

"You always do this, Mom," Minnie said, her voice shaking with anger. "You always make excuses for him. You always defend him. But I'm not going to let that happen anymore."

Minnie's mom tried to reassure her, "Minnie, it's not your fault. None of this is your fault."

But Minnie wasn't convinced. She felt responsible, felt like she had to make things right.

"I'll make sure he pays, Mom," Minnie vowed, her eyes blazing with determination. "I'll become a lawyer, and I'll make sure he pays for every single punch he's ever thrown at you."

Her mom tried to calm her down, but Minnie was resolute. "I'll get my revenge, Mom. I promise you that."

Minnie's mom sighed, her eyes filled with a deep sadness. "Minnie, baby, I don't want you to waste your life on revenge. I want you to be happy."

But Minnie just shook her head. "I'll never be happy, Mom, until he pays for what he's done to us."
