(story begins)
The soft rustle of cherry blossoms danced through the air in the quiet park where Takumi sat alone, gazing at the distant silhouette of Mount Fuji. It was peaceful here—too peaceful for a heart that carried a secret as heavy as his.
That's when he first saw Yuna—a gentle smile, sketchbook in hand, eyes shimmering with the glow of the setting sun. She sat on a bench near him, drawing the view in front of her, unaware that she'd just become someone's entire world.
Takumi waited. Day after day, he returned to the park, hoping she'd be there again. And she was. Always in the same spot. Always with that calm presence.
After two weeks, he gathered the courage.
"Hey…" he said, nervous but sincere. "I don't know if this is strange, but I've been waiting to talk to you. I… I like you. I don't even know your name yet, but I had to say it."
Yuna blinked, surprised… then smiled.
"Yuna. Miyamoto Yuna. And I think I've been waiting for you too."
They began dating. Laughing under the cherry blossoms, watching the sunrise over the lake, sharing dreams and fears—everything, except one truth.
Takumi was sick. He knew it. Cancer.
He didn't want to break her heart.
One rainy afternoon, he met her with a weak smile.
"Let's break up."
Her eyes widened. "What? Why? What did I do?"
"Nothing. It's me. I just… I don't think I can do this anymore."
He turned away, heart shattering with every step.
But Yuna wasn't the kind of girl to let love slip away.
A few days later, she found out. His mother had called. Takumi had collapsed and was now in a coma at the hospital. The words hit her like a blade.
She rushed there. And stayed. One week.
She never left his side. Day and night, reading to him, holding his hand, whispering,
"Takumi… please come back. I'm not going anywhere. Not now, not ever."
And then—his fingers twitched.
"Yuna…?"
She burst into tears. "You idiot. You think I'd leave you? I love you. Even if you're broken, even if you're scared—I'm staying."
Recovery was slow. But Yuna never left.
After a few months, Takumi had his surgery.
It was successful.
The cancer was gone.
Standing under the cherry blossoms that once witnessed their beginning, Takumi knelt on one knee, holding a ring.
"You saved me. You loved me even when I couldn't love myself. Will you marry me?"
Yuna smiled through tears. "Only if you promise not to run again."
"Never again."
They married under the blooming sakura, with Mount Fuji watching over their vows. And in Kawaguchiko, where love bloomed beside pain, they began their forever—together.
