Chapter 32 - Chapter 0032 – Meteor Shower

Such scenes appeared all around the world, in every city.

Many survivors watching from home had their pupils contract violently, their faces turning deathly pale, filled with terror and disbelief. That black rain was like a venomous beast—merely touching it would cause complete corrosion, reducing flesh to nothingness in mere seconds.

"What is that stuff? That black rain is terrifying. As soon as it falls, it corrodes all living beings. Even monsters are reduced to black liquid. Horrifying," said Chen Xuerou, as she witnessed a goblin shriek in agony beneath the rain. Its body dissolved in an instant, turning into black water and vanishing into the earth.

"This black rain must not touch your body. Once it does, unless you immediately cut off the affected area, it will spread and completely consume you, turning you into black water. It's even more terrifying than concentrated sulfuric acid. However, it seems to only affect exposed skin, not clothing or buildings. If we stay indoors and avoid exposure, we can prevent this threat."

After observing for a while, Yi Tianxing came to this conclusion. His heart, however, was equally shaken.

The vision displayed in the void was far too terrifying.

What was that black world? What were the golden eyes? The black demonic pillars that stood within that world? The black light escaping from them? And that enormous jet-black finger—what was its purpose in suddenly striking the heavens?

Just a single finger shattered by countless bolts of lightning turned into a rain of black death, bringing unimaginable devastation. That finger's action couldn't have been meaningless—it clearly had a purpose.

A sense of deep foreboding rose in Yi Tianxing's heart.

Instinctively, he took out the Wordless Heavenly Tome from his spiritual pearl space.

Sure enough, as he flipped it open, new text appeared on its pages:

"Day Four: Black Rain Descends. Meteors fall like rain. The rain of black upon flesh, body dissolves, bones melt. Meteors crash from the heavens, annihilating all."

These brief words caused Yi Tianxing's pupils to contract violently.

Black rain. Meteors like rain!

Could that black finger have been trying to shatter the barrier between heaven and earth, pulling stars from the sky and turning them into meteors to rain down upon Earth?

Was the black rain only the precursor, and the true catastrophe the incoming meteor storm?

Everyone knew that even a small meteor crashing to Earth could cause devastating destruction. If thousands or tens of thousands of meteors were to fall continuously... it would be like an endless nuclear bombardment. The destructive power would be utterly apocalyptic.

"How could this be? Is this world really giving humans no chance of survival?" Chen Xuerou muttered, despair clouding her eyes.

Meteors—inescapable and unstoppable. The terrifying part was that they weren't just falling randomly. It was a meteor shower, and the chances of being struck were enormous. Even a nearby impact would create devastating shockwaves and destruction.

Humanity, already battered and bruised, would suffer unimaginable casualties.

"Quick, gather the supplies! Grab all our gear—we're heading to the underground garage. The black rain outside makes it too dangerous to go out. Once it stops, the meteor shower might begin. Staying in this building could be fatal—it might collapse entirely. Our best shot is going underground."

Yi Tianxing made a swift decision and acted immediately.

As he spoke, he began collecting supplies from the hall, storing everything—especially weapons and food—into the spiritual pearl space.

"Right, let's do it!"

Tang Zitong responded instantly and began packing as well. They only took what was essential and precious. All other clutter was left behind. Fortunately, the spiritual pearl space was spacious enough to store the majority of their belongings.

"Let's go! We'll take the stairs to the underground garage."

The stairway connected directly to the basement. Without elevators, it would take effort, and regular people would likely be out of breath.

Clang!

They opened the security door, and Yi Tianxing, along with the three women, quickly exited and closed the door behind them. No one could predict what might happen next. Maybe the meteors wouldn't hit here, and they could return later—or maybe the whole building would collapse.

"I am Yi Tianxing. Anyone still alive—go to the underground garage immediately! This building isn't safe. A great disaster is coming. If you trust me, head to the garage now!"

While racing toward the basement with the three women, he shouted a warning at every stairwell. Just once per floor. If someone was alive, they would hear it. Whether they listened or not was up to them—he had done his duty.

"What? Master Yi said to go to the garage? Is the building unsafe?""Quick! Grab the essentials! Something terrible must be coming, or Yi Tianxing wouldn't abandon the building for the basement!""Take the gold, food, clothes—leave the rest! Money's useless now—it's all just paper. Food and warmth are what matter!""Move! The surface is unsafe!"

Yi Tianxing's reputation in the building was already high. Especially after his efforts clearing the complex and fighting off the rats—many had seen him from their windows. His every word carried weight.

People reacted quickly, grabbing their most valuable supplies and rushing downstairs, many with families in tow. No one wanted to stay in their apartments. If even Yi Tianxing was retreating, what chance did ordinary people have?

Bang!

The four of them were all cultivators, with strong physiques and long-lasting stamina. Even after racing down many flights, they weren't tired or winded. Reaching the basement, they found a large iron sheet blocking the entrance to the garage. Yi Tianxing frowned, then kicked it forcefully.

With a thunderous crash, the iron sheet flew backward.

"What's going on?""Who's there?"

Voices rose from inside.

Yi Tianxing and the others stepped into the underground garage, which had been fortified. Vehicles were piled against the entrance, forming a barricade against potential monsters. The rolling shutter had been closed manually. The garage was wide and empty, with a fire burning in the center. People huddled around it, still shivering despite the flames.

The temperature outside was bitterly cold.

The loud crash of the iron sheet had drawn everyone's attention. Their eyes widened in shock as they recognized Yi Tianxing.

"You're Master Yi Tianxing!"

Li Zhilin stood up, eyes shining, his voice excited. Though he phrased it as a question, his tone showed he was sure. They had all witnessed Yi Tianxing's rat-slaying feats before, a display of power so overwhelming it had shaken their very souls. Against him, their own powers felt meaningless.

Compared to the monsters, Yi Tianxing was the real monster.

This confirmed their choice to take shelter in the garage. With a powerhouse like him here, it had to be safer than anywhere else.

They had even planned to go invite him—but to their surprise, he came on his own, bringing three women with him.

"Yeah," Yi Tianxing responded simply.

Scanning the group, he saw that only about sixty to seventy remained of the original hundred-plus students. Their faces were pale from the cold. Only Li Zhilin, Liu Qingqing, and Tie Nan had awakened their Life Apertures, giving them enough constitution to resist the cold.

Without wasting words, he turned back toward the stairwell. "Ziyan, Zitong, Xuerou—stay in the garage. I'm heading to the surface to check the situation. No matter what happens, don't leave this place. It's not safe outside."

"Got it, big brother!"

Zhao Ziyan understood he was going to verify if the meteor storm would truly strike.

After giving his instructions, Yi Tianxing climbed back up to the ground floor.

When he emerged, the black rain had already stopped. But when he looked up, a dazzling and breathtaking sight unfolded before him.

Brilliant meteors streaked across the sky, forming a dense shower that looked more like a storm.

They weren't just passing by in the distance—they were plummeting directly toward Earth.

Each meteor grew larger by the second, igniting as they tore through the atmosphere, becoming blazing fireballs.

One after another, they fell across the land—so many that they seemed to cover every corner of the planet.
