Chapter 11 - Chapter 10: Invisible

*Yohan's POV* (time, 11:36 o'clock)

What are we going to do now? This guy still hasn't woken up. I can hear strange noises from behind. I hope it's not zombies with us now.

"Hey, hey, wake up!" I gently tried to wake up the guy lying on the floor. I put him down because he was too heavy.

"Wake up..." I tried to wake him up again, and the woman with me suddenly spoke up.

"I'm scared..." she said. I quietly went to her and held her trembling hand. Just as I was about to say something, a loud noise was heard. I quickly turned around and saw the guy on the floor yawning widely.

Oh no.

I quickly stepped closer to him and covered his mouth. When he opened his eyes, he looked at me with a frown.

"WHA—" he tried to shout, but I signaled him to be quiet. He stopped, and I removed my hand from his mouth.

He spoke up.

"What's the problem?" he asked, angirly.

"We have people with us," I replied.

"Huh, how did you see them? It's dark," he asked sarcastically.

What's with him?

"Okay, let's say I didn't see them, but I felt them, okay?" I changed my tone. Then, a loud noise was heard.

Wait, thunder? That's right.

After that, the lights in the room turned on. I quickly ran to lie down behind the nearby chairs. I pulled the woman with me, and the guy who just woke up followed. The sound of rain could be heard. It's raining? Why?

From our hiding spot, I saw zombies walking around, visible during the thunder and hiding when the noise stopped. I focused my attention on the guy who didn't believe me earlier. His face showed fear and shock at what he saw.

"Well, do you believe me now?" I asked him. He looked straight at me without saying a word, while the woman with us cried softly.

"Where are they, Kyro?" he asked.

Who's Kyro?

Raze, how are you?

*Kelvin's POV* (29minutes earlier)

What are those things? Why are they here too? Kyro and the others. Are they hiding? What did I do? Why did I shout? I hope nothing bad happened because of me.

"They react to noise," a woman suddenly said. I turned around and saw a group of students. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven? Seven of them? If I'm not mistaken.

"When it's dark, they can't see. Light is their advantage," the woman added.

"Wait a minute." I walked slowly towards them. They're probably not bad people.

"How long have you been here?" I asked, sitting down in front of them.

"Three days," a guy behind me replied quickly. I was surprised to see him standing near the window. Eight of them now?

"Three days? That seems impossible," I said, not believing it. Three days? That means those creatures been outside for three days?

"It's not just impossible to stay here for three days, I don't know how we're still alive," the woman who grabbed me earlier said, sighing.

"How did you survive?" I asked immediately.

"We go out at night to get food from the canteen," she replied.

So that's what they do. Makes sense, since it's dark at night, it's their advantage.

"What really happened?" I asked again. Then, the guy who was standing near the window started walking towards the door.

When he stopped, he spoke.

"Three days ago, they were creating added creatures for the festival. Unexpectedly, one of them escaped. The one that escaped was similar to a zombie, biting all the students it encountered, and they multiplied rapidly."

"After that day, the students couldn't go home. Some of them got into the rooms, but on the second day, another added creature escaped. A purple alien, or what's commonly known as a sphere. Those creatures almost destroyed the rooms, which allowed the zombies to get in."

"Now, another creature has appeared. Probably this morning, robots. There are big and small ones, and luckily, they didn't cause trouble or hurt anyone, but like the other two creatures, they escaped from the school. I'm sure many people have been affected. Before the scientist who created the added creatures died, he mentioned a cure that could neutralize the zombies." He explained at length.

Wait, there's really a cure?

"Cure? What do you mean?" I asked.

"Yes, a cure," he replied quickly.

"Possible—" Before I could finish what I was saying, a woman's scream was heard. The lights in the hallway turned on, and we saw scattered zombies and a few spheres. I quickly stood up to peek out the window and was shocked to see that the girl who screamed was the same one who was with us.

*Kyro's POV*

Who screamed? That voice sounds familiar. Isn't that the voice of the girl who was with Xyrus? What happened? Xyrus?

I quickly grabbed my bow and opened the door.

"Raze, Ace, follow me," I said to them as I opened the door. They walked hesitantly, picking up sticks as they went.

"Kyro, it's dangerous," John said.

"Don't worry, John. We won't die," I replied, then stepped out. The hallway lights were on. Xyrus, where are you?

As we ran, a loud noise was heard, familiar to me. Xyrus's weapon. He's using it.

I quickly followed the sound and was shocked to see that it led us to the same hallway where we got separated earlier. I saw Xyrus standing there, singing. The guy who was with us earlier was with him, but the girl who was with them was nowhere to be seen. Where is she?

"Kyro," I heard a voice behind me. I quickly turned around and was shocked to see a zombie biting Raze. I quickly pressed the button on my bow, turning it into a sword, and used it to kill the zombie biting Raze. After that, Raze fell.

"Raze, what happened? Where's the girl who was with you?" I asked him immediately, supporting his back.

"For-give...me..." he stammered before losing consciousness. Why didn't he turn into a zombie? Where's the girl who was with him? Don't tell me...

"AKARII!!!" a voice shouted from afar. I left Raze on the ground and approached Xyrus. Just as I was about to reach them, a zombie attacked me. I saw many more zombies approaching Raze's direction. This can't go on. NOOOO...

"AGHHHHHHH!!!" screams were heard from different parts of the hallway. John appeared from the front of the hallway, near Xyrus and Raze's position.

"WE CAN'T JUST HIDE!!!" they shouted. Then, I stabbed the zombie in front of me with my sword. Yohan approached me, but stopped when he saw Raze lying on the ground. Yohan, I'm sorry.

"ACEEEEEEE!!!" a loud scream was suddenly heard. That's her voice. I quickly stood up and ran out into the hallway.

"Xyrus," I called out as I left. Yohan went to Raze. When I ran out of the hallway, I found myself in a field again. There, I saw the girl who was with us earlier being bitten by a zombie.

"ACEEEEEE!!!" the woman behind him screamed again.

"Run..." Ace, the boy who was with Raze and me, said weakly. I quickly pressed the button on my sword, turning it back into a bow. I took out three arrows and shot the zombies biting Ace, while Xyrus sang.

Due to her song, the zombies and aliens in the field fell asleep, including Ace and the woman behind her. After that, Xyrus collapsed beside me. I caught her. I knew it.

From the rooms, some students came out, including Kelvin. They looked sad, staring at Ace and the girl who was with her. I could feel some students approaching me from behind.

I turned around and saw Raze's unconscious body behind Yohan, with John and the others.

What's happening now?

A tall, black-haired man with green eyes suddenly approached me.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"We're students from Hunter High," I replied. Kelvin approached us.

"Some of us are from Ganter University," he added. I pointed to the two children in the field.

"Those two kids, we found them near Ganter University," I said. He looked and nodded. I left them for a moment and went to the field where Ace lay. I watched him, and I was shocked when he moved. His movements were like those of a zombie.

I quickly pressed the button on my bow and aimed it at him body. But just as I was about to stab him, I trembled. He continued to move, and I continued to tremble. From behind me, I heard a woman's voice.

"Please, don't," she said sadly. I quickly turned around, and I almost cried seeing the sadness on her face. Then, I heard a noise. I slowly turned around and was shocked to see Ace's body lying on the ground. I swallowed hard.

After that, I quickly stood up and approached the woman behind me.

"Let's go, we need to leave!!!" I shouted loudly. But we stopped when we heard some words.

"A-akari, argh. I-I love you, argh." I slowly turned around, shocked to hear those words coming from Ace.

"Ace..." I whispered.

We were about to leave, but a long, purple tentacle suddenly pierced Ace's body. My eyes widened. Then, another tentacle pierced his body.

I sat down, turned around, and was shocked to see Akari standing there, also pierced by a tentacle. I saw her fall, and the tentacle retreated.

Then, it extended again and pierced Yohan's body. I quickly swung my sword at the tentacle and cut it off, but part of it remained in Yohan's body. I saw students running into the rooms, some of them also pierced by the spheres' tentacles.

I was about to stand up when a small, purple creature fell in front of me. I stopped. It moved according to my movements. I slowly backed away, and it moved slowly too. Unexpectedly, it disappeared.

I was confused and scared. From where I stood, I could see all the students running, screaming, and asking for help. It happened again.

"Kyro," a soft voice called out. I turned around and saw Kelvin standing there.

"What's happening?" I asked him immediately.

"I gave you and Xyrus invisibility," he said with a smile.

"Are you invisible too?" I asked.

"Yes, don't worry about me," he replied.

*Kelvin's POV*

Thirty seconds left. The effect of my invisibility will wear off soon.
