olivia, Residence of New orleans,
Louisiana, U.S. decided to move to los Angeles. She had made the decision earlier, when they moved here. she was living with her two daughters, though none of the neighbors really knew their name. They spoke to no-one and kept their heads down-any slip, & Someone might recognised who they really were? They lived a life in unknown peace.
she didn't know that she would soon find herself in big trouble, she didn't known it yet, but everything was about to change.
carter and Grace were here two daughters Both were in their college years, and Like their mother, they didn't socialize much.
One day, just a day before they were set to move how los angeles, carter called her mother? There was something different in her voice she sounded like she was in pain. she was crying. and her words cracked through the phone. It wasn't Just sadness. It felt like something real. something deep.
Grace returned home, but carter didn't And when asked, Grace could only shake herhead-she hadn't been with her sister at all that day.
et where's carter?" she asked, her voice already trembling.
Grace twisting the strap of her bag in her hands. eridon't know. I haven't seen her since morning"
Silence filled the room like Fog.
Next Morning, they went to the police. It was official now-carter was missing with that one report, the quite life they had carefully built began to unravel.
what was once peacefull turned into something cruel and exhausting. Investig began, officers came and went. Strangers knocked on doors asking questions.
Her world, once small and safe, had turned into a strom of doubts and endless waiting
she had gone missing on 27th Nov. 2016, and since then, the days had slipped by, one after another, in silence. Each Morning brough same emptiness, some cwaiting, No Massages, Noleads.
By the time 6th Dec. arrived. they were restless-tired. The case felt like it cuas vanishing into same darkness Carter had.
Their hopes etwas starting to Fray, the Fear was growing stronger.
Grace was sharpen that She let go on. while police kept circling the same dead ends. She held one thing they had overlooked → a single phone call.
phone call had came from unknown number & locationdican't trace on police system. But Grace wasn't ready to let it go She knew carter wouldn't have use her own phone if She was in danger
so with faint lead, Grace began searching every public telephone centre around City-pay phones, old booths tucked away corners of lauisiana's streets. She kept map, marked each spots and asked quite questions to people who barely looked up
If carter had made that call, someone had seen her. And Grace wasn't going to stop untill She found them.
Grace had her own way of investigation1 quite observant she trusted her instincts.
one afternoon, as she passed through Jackson Square, something caught her eye-a Faded poster taped to an old lamp post it read:
"Trapped at vanishing point-who Else Saw Her?".
There was nonumber but only eerie drawing of girl with blurred out face.
Grace paused fora Second, her heart nudging her to look clocer. But the moment passed She had other lead, and so she move on, unaware that poster held very thiead she needed.
It was the root of it all.
The first warning. And she had walked right past it.
She didn't notice the man across streat He had been leaning against iron railing. near square's edge, pretenting to scroll through an old Flipphone. But when Grace walked away from the poster, he lifted his eyes.
He had seen her pause.
He waited she was full block caway before crossing over. He peeled the poster OFF the pole, folded it twice, and tucked it into his coat pocket.
That night, Grace sat at her desk, retracing her rooks route with red pen on city map.
Meanwhile, in a darkened corner of city, someone else pinned same poster on different wall. someone who know the truth. And was watching her now.
Grace was exchausted. Days of searching had drained every once energy she had Hereyes were sore, her thought tangled.
She didn't slept properly in a wеек, and silence in their apartment had started to feel louder than the city outside.
she sat alone in kitchen, the same cold tea on table, staring at her notebook Filled with cross-out names and dead end locations.
Then came the knock.
Just one. sharp. Measured. And when she opened the door. no one was there.
Only an envelope.cream coloured, Sealed with a smudge of red wax.
Her fingers tiembled as she Picked it up. Noname. No stamp. Just one line written on back:
"For the one who kept searching".
Inside was a Folder peice of paper. Typed, not hand written.
it reads:
"The face you missed still watches.
The voice you ignored stillechoes.
Return to the place where you passed without looking.
-J.s!"
There was no threat. No demand. Just a clue.
Grace eyes narrowed.
Jackson square.
She'd missed something there. And whoever left the note wanted her to see it now-notas a warning, but as a message. A wishper from someone who might be trying to help
Olivia had been quite through most of it-watching from the edge. listring, waiting, but she wasn't blind. she saw her how Grace chasing threads that led nowhere while police repeated same tired lines:
" we're doing our best."
These things take time".
sometimes they just leave."
But carter wasn't kind of girl who just left. Olivia kew that And she knew Grace wouldn't stop unless someone helped her stand.
That evening, after Grace Shared stronge massage from letter olivia looked at her and said, "Enough, I'm coming with you"
Grace blinked. "Liv, this isn't safe. I don't even know what we're walking into."
Idon't care," olivia said, "I'm done listening fake sympathy and empty Promises. If they won't find her, we wil
from that moment on, it wasn't Just Grace following trail. Olivia joined with investigation, fresh energy.
next Morning, Grace and olivia arrieved at Jackson square after sunrise. They walked together, more alert than ever, Scanning every inch of the square
when they reached 26 candy street, something was off. The alley was blocked roped off with Faded police tape & temporary wooden barricades Noonewas allowed to walked together., more alert than ever. usually earbusy shortcut te had turned into dead zone, and wishpers floated through crowd like Smoke.
Then, without warning girl approach them. young, hooded with pale eyes & Steady gaze she moved directly to ward olivia clipped a folded peice of paper into her hand & disappeared into the crowd without a single word.
Olivia looked down. The letter was typed.
like the one Grace had received before.
"I knew you'd come, olivia williams.
I knew you wouldn't let Grace walk alone.
I have a surprise waiting.
The roots of every thing lie at a place you haven't touched Yet -

But listen carefully-Do not enter.
if you do, you will be bud burried with secret And no one will come looking"
The name hit like cold wove. Vulture Street, Dixon-an industrial district far from where theide they'd been Searching.
Grace looked at olivia. "we've been circling the wrong place all along".
Olivia folded letter tightly, note wasnit Just a clue. It was a warning. And someone out there was watching closely.
Grace and olivia reached Nulture Street, Dixon at 8.00 P.m The street was quite and dark. in Front of them Stood an old building with faded sign:
"The vanishing point - who Else SAW HER".
Grace stared at it.
"This was a Tv show," she said. "It Stopped a long time ago That poster i saw at Jackson Square - It was about this!"
The building looked abandoned. Dusty windows locked doors. Trash every where. But something felt strange, Like someone was still watching from inside
" we shouldn't go in yet," Ollvia said looking around.
