I could hear the heartbeat of water drops rhyming with my body impulses, every drop sending chills to my spine. Distant laughter echoed through the walls of the room I have been held captive, numerous thoughts ran through my mind as to why this is happening at a crucial point in my life.
The door made a screeching sound and it went open, I could hear footsteps, It wasn't just footstep but footsteps, could this possibly be my end after all my struggles.
"Unbind her eyes, but leave her legs and hands tied" A voice ordered, must be the boss.
Squishing my eyes in pain, I have been held captive for hours and my eyes had gone sore, my heart felt emptiness as to how mother was faring. Lifting my eyes to see the treacherous men behind my kidnap I was left in deep shock.
"Mr Tony , you!" To my disbelief, he was my captor.
"Surprise!" He said laughing deviously.
"This is so wrong, you will pay" I said struggling so hard, screaming with every strength I had in me.
"You keep quiet, Kaitlynnnnn!"
" You are so adamant, you had the guts to push me when I told you a simple truth, you underestimate my power, you misused the opportunity I gave you, I must have my way kaitylnnnn!" He retorted aggressively with veins popping out his neck.
" You will face judgement, let me go right now, I have to go and see my mother, she needs me, she must be worried please let me go" I struggled and screamed but I was faint.
"Bring her to the showroom, she thinks she can outsmart me, who does that to me and lives to tell the story" He said limping out of the room.
The showroom, it was equipped with so many weapons, who would have thought a baker could be this devious and manipulative. I crossed eyes with some girls stripped naked, crying helplessly. Was I going to be stripped also? I thought to myself, shaking and confused. As I turned to look at the other side of the room a heavy punch came to my nose, leaving my nose bleeding and sending me unconscious for some minutes, yet they didn't leave me, numerous punch touched different parts of my body giving me bruises as I begged for help.
With a swollen eyes, I watched one of the captors trying to strip me off my clothes but paused when a serene sound seneraded the building, it was the cops. They panicked, running from different corners of the room, while Mr Tony kept limping in agitation.
"This is the police, we have got you surrounded now, surrender" said the cops
" Let's surrender boss, there is no way out, we are surrounded, who leaked our hideout, this is outrageous " said one of the goons.
" You shut up there, there is no surrending, round up the girls, they will be good bait" said Mr Tony letting out a smirk.
They dragged us by our hairs as they took us outside the building using us a bait in an attempt to escape the police.
"You shouldn't be doing this, we will let them go if you let us go through" Tony said, but there was fear written all over him, as he was sweating profusely.
The cops made coded signals to themselves as they nodded in unity, and in two minutes straight shots were fired at the captors, sending them to the ground with all having bullet holes on their shoulder. We ran towards the police as they moved us into an ambulance, I watched other girls cry out of fear, while others cried out of worry, they have been victimized and going through a lot, so have I.
In my state of confusion and anguish, I watched the ambulance drive to a lake path and I wondered if I entered into the lake and drown myself in it my pains would all be over, I thought of it as a possible way of overcoming this undeniable pain I'm trapped in. Placing my hand on my chest, I longed for immersing myself into the depth of the lake so it could take away my pains. Then I remembered mother, I couldn't just leave her yet, it would turn out to be a selfish idea at the end of it all.
The ambulance arrived at the city hospital and I headed straight to mother's room, ignoring the calls of the medical personnel who attempted to give me treatment. Mother eyes were widely open, she had been expecting my return, with the bruises and injury all over she knew I had gone through great pain, seeing me from afar, she couldn't hide those tears of hers.
"Who disclosed him" said mother
"Apparently it was his mom who was tired of his hideous behavior, I heard the cops whisper about it, I'm just glad I'm okay and reunited with you mom"
" I'm really sorry for everything you have to go through because of me" she said letting out soft sobs.
"Oh mother, don't do that please, I don't like seeing you cry, I just have to find a way of getting us a new home, the government will be taking over the house soon, I knew they will catch up with us someday, I guess the day has arrived "
"A new house, that will cause us fortune " mother said searching through my eyes.
"That's why I have to keep pushing still, this wound won't hold me down"
"So stubborn " mother said as we laughed In chorus.
A minute I was attempting suicide, and another minute I was motivated to never give up, my life has surely taken a dramatic turn, one I can't avoid, one I will have to face on my own. I slept close to mom thinking about what tomorrow probably holds for us as I fell into an unexpected deep sleep suddenly.
