Chapter 7 - Shadows of the Throne

Chapter: "The Silent Siege"

The Royal Court was in chaos.

Scrolls lay opened on the marble floor. Red markers on the kingdom's map. Shouts between nobles. Fear disguised as concern.

🧔‍♂️ Noble Lord Dregan:"The merchants cry ruin! Enemy spices, silks, metals—they're flooding our markets cheaper than we can sell. Our traders are bleeding coins, Your Majesty!"

👨‍🌾 Noble Lady Saria:"Our fishing villages report seeing enemy fleets. Small ships for now—but too many to be coincidence!"

👨‍⚖️ Noble Chancellor Morik:"Spies, perhaps! We've intercepted whispers in the taverns of the border towns. Someone is planning something, my King!"

All turned toward the throne.

But Karan didn't speak yet. His hands were calmly folded. His eyes didn't show worry—just thought.

Suddenly, the massive chamber doors opened. The Nine walked in.

Lucy, regal and sharp-eyed.

Dravid, composed, arms crossed.

Aryan, silent, calculating behind spectacles.

Rika, armor dusted from a border inspection.

Troy, casually eating an apple.

Kiel, blades rattling with each step.

Zed, the silent shadow in a black cloak.

Nira, walking with cold confidence.

Lior, the quiet tactician, eyes glowing with insight.

The nobles turned.

Tension crackled.

👑 Karan (standing):"So the enemy plots a silent war."

He stepped down from the throne, voice echoing power.

👑 Karan:"They bleed our market to make our people desperate. They move ships in shadows to ignite fear. They whisper through spies to see how loud we'll scream before we act."

The nobles murmured, unsure where this was going.

Then Karan's voice grew cold—calculated.

👑 Karan:"But let me ease your worry."

He gestured, and Zed stepped forward. He tossed a scroll of intercepted messages onto the court floor.

🕵️ Zed:"Letters between enemy merchants. They're paying double to flood our cities with goods."

Then Aryan spoke, adjusting his gold-rimmed glasses.

🧠 Aryan:"We've already countered. By tomorrow, we'll dump cheaper grain, salt, and coal into their markets through neutral states. Their economy will feel the burn."

⚔️ Dravid:"Enemy fleets? Already tracked. Zed and I marked their routes. Our navy is waiting just outside their visual range."

😏 Troy (grinning):"Oh! And I convinced two of their admirals that the other is planning a coup. Their next war will be with each other."

🔥 Rika:"If they dare move closer, we'll burn their sails before they even see our cannons."

👑 Karan (firmly):"This is not a court of fools anymore. This is a throne that sees everything."

Silence.

👑 Karan (stepping close to the nobles):"You panicked. We acted. You heard rumors. We planted them. You feared collapse. We engineered revival."

He raised his hand.

👑 Karan:"As of tonight—no foreign goods will be sold in our kingdom without royal seal and tax. Black marketeers will be executed. Merchants loyal to us will receive royal funding and protection."

👑 Karan (voice like steel):"And if any of you nobles are found aiding enemy traders or spies—you will hang by the gates as an example."

The court fell into stunned silence. Then... applause.

The nobles bowed. One by one. Some out of respect. Others out of fear.

Only the Nine remained upright.

And Lucy stepped closer to Karan.

💎 Lucy (whispering with a teasing smile):"You've changed the game again, my King. You look dangerously handsome when you play with kingdoms."

👑 Karan (without turning):"This is just the opening move. Let them come. We'll bury them in their own schemes."

As the enemy kingdom's plans run opposite to ours, their markets are flooded and they begin to feel the heat of war. Tensions rise as both a neighboring country and the enemy kingdom declare war on the kingdom.

But Karan is prepared.

The army is ready. The elites are ready. The King's Royal Guards are ready. The city walls and castles are fortified. And the Nine are prepared in their own fields to defend the kingdom.

In the coming war, among the Nine—Lucy, Rika, Dravid, and Kiel will directly take part on the battlefield.

The day arrives. Both armies now stand face-to-face.

In front of the kingdom's army, a magnificent horse draped in golden armor stands tall.Seated upon it is Karan, clad in his gleaming gold armor.Beside him stand Dravid and Kiel.Behind them, the Royal Guards, the Elites, and the entire army stand, united and unshaken.

Lucy commands the gunmen.Rika takes charge of the assassins, cannonmen, and archers.

"The Day of Reckoning"

The sky was blood-red at dawn. The wind, sharp and quiet—like it too held its breath for the battle to come.

On the plains outside the great capital of Valestra, two vast armies stood face to face. The enemy coalition, arrogant and numerous, their banners whipping with pride. To their right, the enemy kingdom's crimson lions roared. On their left, the traitorous neighbor's green serpents hissed across the air.

But in front of the Kingdom of the Reforged Flame, stood one rider.

A golden-armored stallion, muscles like carved iron, stood steady.

And on it—

👑 Karan.

He wore a crown forged anew, not of jewels, but of black steel and crimson fire. His golden armor shimmered in the early sun, not flashy—but sacred, like the armor of a god. Beside him rode:

⚔️ Dravid – silent, deadly, his curved blade humming with restraint.

🗡️ Kiel – eyes locked on the opposing generals, twin daggers eager to fly.

Behind them, the ground thundered with the might of:

🛡️ The Royal Guard – 200 elite warriors, born and bred for death and loyalty.

🐉 The Elite Battalion – trained under Dravid, each worth ten men.

⚔️ The Army – 150,000 strong. Not just soldiers—believers in their King.

On the left flank:

🎯 Lucy, calm and calculated, riding with elegance yet hidden steel. Her command of the gunner division was flawless. Muskets gleamed behind her—loaded, aimed, unwavering.

On the right flank:

🔥 Rika, mounted with black armor and red war paint. She led the archers, cannons, and assassins with ruthless precision. Her eyes didn't blink.A warrior and a reaper.

As the enemy laughed at their numbers and mocked the silence of Karan's army—

He rode forward. Alone. His banner raised high.

The enemies murmured—

"Where is his envoy?""Where is his herald?""Where is his fear?"

Karan raised his sword. It wasn't flamboyant—it was functional, glowing with ancient energy awakened in the crypts of his ancestors.

He pointed at the enemy.

👑 Karan (calmly):"You came to my gates… expecting a fallen king. You thought gold and corruption ruled here. You thought you would write history."

👑 Karan (voice rising):"But today, I write the future. And it will begin with the ash of your pride."

Then he turned his head slightly—

👑 Karan:"Lucy. Begin the song."

And the moment he said that—

💥 BOOM!

The first cannon, hidden in a nearby hill, fired and obliterated the enemy's left cavalry. Smoke and shockwaves rolled across the field.

💎 Lucy:"Fire in waves. Make them dance."

Her gunners fired synchronized volleys, mowing down the frontlines of the enemy like blades through wheat.

🔥 Rika:"Archers! Rain."

And then—a dark wave of arrows blotted the sun, followed by the echoing roars of the hidden artillery under her command. Cannons thundered again. Entire flanks crumbled.

⚔️ Dravid:"Charge formation three. Break them from the ribs."

Dravid led the central charge, smashing into the shaken core of the enemy army with surgical strikes, while Kiel led elite assassins through smoke into the command camps of the enemy coalition.

🗡️ Kiel (grinning):"No orders if there are no generals."

He vanished into the chaos, leaving only screams behind.

The battlefield was chaos. Arrows screamed. Cannons thundered. The sky was black with smoke, and fire danced across shattered wagons and broken siege towers.

In the heart of it all—he charged.

👑 King Karan

With a roar, his golden-armored horse tore through the muddied blood-soaked field like a lightning bolt wrapped in flesh. Behind him, his Royal Guard followed—only fifty were allowed to ride with the King directly, but fifty was all he needed.

They were deep now—pinching into the enemy's second wave, where enemy nobles and their elite knights stood tall, expecting the usual noble's ceremonial swing.

But Karan was not ceremonial.Karan was not usual.Karan was reincarnated fury.

💥 SWOOSH!

He swung his massive double-edged blade—a modern-forged, perfectly balanced sword—and ten men flew, broken in bone and spirit. Their armor shattered like tin, blood arcing into the air like crimson rain.

One enemy commander screamed,

"HE'S NOT HUMAN! THAT'S NOT A KING—THAT'S A DEMON!"

The soldiers began backing away—but it was too late.

💢 CLASH. BOOM. CRACK.

Every time his blade moved, a rhythm of destruction followed. A single strike cut through spears, shields, and the men behind them. Horses panicked and fled. Archers refused to shoot in fear of hitting their own.

👁️‍🗨️ Dravid, standing nearby, cutting down elites like a surgeon, stopped for a brief second… watching.

🗡️ Dravid (to himself):"That's not battle… that's domination."

For the first time in his life, Dravid felt not pride… but awe.His respect for the king turned into reverence.

💠 Rika, perched atop a siege tower, commanding assassins with precision, watched through her scope—

🔥 Rika (smirking):"So this is the reason I stayed. Hah… what a monster."

She ordered her assassins to cut down the fleeing captains—the king had broken their spirit.

🎯 Lucy, rallying gunmen to flank the enemy left, caught sight of Karan—

Covered in dust, ash, and blood, surrounded by bodies, his armor now painted crimson. Yet still standing. Still radiant.

Her hand trembled.

💔 Lucy (quietly):"Every moment I don't see him… it feels dull. But watching him like this…""How can someone be this fearsome… and yet the same man who listens to my rants under moonlight?"

Her eyes glimmered with love and terror, and she whispered—

💎 Lucy:"You'll ruin me, Karan. You already have."

⚔️ Kiel, shadow-dancing through the ranks of enemy assassins, paused on a ridge to watch the King.

He saw Karan dismount, grab a dying enemy's spear, and hurl it with such force that it pierced through three armored warlords on horseback.

Kiel blinked.

🗡️ Kiel (soft laugh):"You're not the man they crowned. You're something far more dangerous…"

The enemy now focused everything on the King. Their remaining knights charged, three full squadrons with spears aimed directly at him.

👑 Karan (to his Guard):"Stay back. I want them to see it with their own eyes."

And then… the King did the unthinkable.

He ran toward them. Alone.

Fifty knights, spears lowered.

He didn't flinch. He didn't slow down.

🛡️ BOOM!

He leapt—over the front line, blade spinning, landing in the center of the enemy charge.

💥 CRACK! SWISH! RIP!

It was like watching thunder manifest as man.

Within seconds—the charge was broken, horses felled, spears splintered, helmets caved, screams echoed.

🛡️ Royal Guard Commander (shouting):"GET TO THE KING! CLEAR THE FLANK!"

But the King didn't need saving.

👑 Karan (to the dying enemy captain):"This is the kingdom you dared to challenge. This is the king you underestimated."

He stood alone in a circle of death, surrounded by burning corpses, and looked toward the enemy general, who now hesitated—afraid to send more men.

And far behind, the Nine, the people who knew his secret… now looked at him not as a king, but as something else entirely.

As Karan.The Reincarnated.The Unshakable.
