Middleground: World where the story passes. I can't give too much detail because that would be a spoiler, a big one, but I can and will give major information so you don't get lost. The year is 432 A.J (After Juneheim, a great warrior that unified the entire continent of Peninsa into one Empire, and after his death the Empire shattered in smaller ones just like before. Yep, kinda China vibes).
On this world, magic is a common but not so common thing, it depends on where you live. For example, on the kingdom of Venisha at the extreme south of Peninsa, the place where the story begins, magic is something slightly rare, unlike the Royal Capital of the Kingdom of June at the East of Peninsa where not seeing magic is the weird thing.
This world is mostly organized in kingdoms, but, there is democracies, republics and dictatorships as well, I'll get further into that on the Venisha and Peninsa part.
The main religion of this world is the Miridianism, where they believe that world came to existence thanks to the Supreme Goddess Miridia. They believe in reincarnation, that by being good you can have a better next life, fixed hierarchy, etc. It's the main religion, but not the only one to be clear.
Peninsa: the continent where the story passes. This continent is the oldest of them all, all the others were discovered or conquered by them (And I'm talking on the perspective of humans, so for the humans, the other continents were discovered. For elves who are from another continent for example, it's the contrary). On this continent, most of the population is human, but it is not unusual to see other races on the Royal City and other important cities. This continent has 5000 years of story, but, just as I said previously, we are on year 432 A.J, so let's not focus so much into the past, but into the present.
After the fall of the Empire established by Juneheim the entire continent shattered into minor kingdoms and republics, but mostly kingdoms. Between them all, the most important is the Kingdom of June, that was formed by the eldest of Juneheim's children. This kingdom consumed practically all the other kingdoms around it, and became the major kingdom of the continent till this day. They are located on the East of the continent, and they are the doors of this continent to other ones.
The major religion of this continent is the Miridianism. The major system of government is monarchy, and most people live their lives in safety specially on the East, thanks to the Kingdom of June.
The continent has all kinds of resources, from gold to food, from food to spices. So, they are really self sufficient, and that's one of the reasons that make them the major continent.
The current king of June is Juni, the Seventh. He's 30 years old, has three children, the oldest being 16, and is married to queen Fernanda, the Pretty. Yes, her name is quite odd comparing to the usual names you'll see here, and that's because she's a noble that comes from the far West of the continent, which has a really different culture when compared to the East and South, thanks to the fact that they had connections with other continents since year 3000 B.J.
Venisha: one of the kingdoms at the Extreme South of Peninsa. They almost touch the sea, but they don't because of the Republic of Fishes (yes weird name, everyone thinks that, but don't judge them, their only income is fishes). It is one of the major kingdoms on the south, because they are the best on selling wheat and they have extraordinary minds coming from the nobleman and great warriors coming from the swordsmanship houses.
Their main rival is the Kingdom of Vunisa. Their history is sad, but I'll tell it for you: On the far past, right before the shattering of the Empire after the death of Juneheim, Venisha and Vunisa were one united kingdom of the Empire.
However, the royal family of the kingdom started to split apart thanks to Vusa the youngest son of the king. Vusa knew he couldn't be the next king, because he was the youngest. The king would be his eldest brother, Venisa. Because of that, he, throughout his entire life, made loads and loads of allies, after all, he was really skillful on negotiating and on manipulation.
Thanks to the death of Juneheim, Vusa used the opportunity to split the kingdom in a half, creating the kingdom of Vunisa and accomplishing his goal of becoming a king. Venisa got really sad with his brother, but still understood his motivations, and instead of declaring war started his new kingdom with his name and continued the legacy of his family.
To this day, Venisha considers Vunisa an illegitimate kingdom and vice-versa. The opinion of the kingdom of June is neutral, because if they pick a side war is eminent.
The story beings on the duchy of Neumyer at the village of Siegestein. Neumyer is the smallest duchy but they are the one that produces the most. Thanks to the infiltration of the Miridianism and to the fertile land of the duchy, the farmers live and breath wheat, making the duchy absurdly productive on farming.
