Chapter 4 - Who is she?

*Chapter 4*

Mikail's POV

My jaw tightened as I surveyed the crowd, a sharp flicker of disgust went through me. The air in the room felt thicker with every moment, the vile energy of the auction seeping into my bones.

I didn't agree with the way they treated women in these auctions; even as the prince of the pack, my mother raised me to love and always protect women.

It was so unfair but well, the operation has been running for years, and even I couldn't change it since my dad was a part of the whole operation.

I walked in, without the mask.

Everyone knew how powerful my family was, no one would want to mess with us.

The auction had already begun 10 minutes earlier. I sat at the VIP lounge with my cousin and right hand man, Louis. He was gropping Scarlett's ass who was standing as an attendant beside him. She was making little mewling sounds which I found very annoying.

I didn't trust Scarlett since I found out she was liaisoned with Barnabas, the Prince of the rival pack that killed my mother. She was punished, although she swore they threatened her family, i haven't trusted her ever since.

I picked up the glass of blood they kept on my table; my mum was a rare mixed breed, a vampire and a werewolf so I could drink blood on special occasions where I needed to keep my head level.

Suddenly, a thrum went over my body. It felt like a thousand needles prickling my whole body. Like I had shock waves traveling through my body.

I felt myself transforming_ my wolf was about to come out.

But no; although transformation was painful for weaker werewolves I was one the of the strongest of my kind.

This felt different; it felt almost painful. Like I needed something_ someone I couldn't name.

Like the way you felt after a week in the wilderness and all you craved was water.

I dug my nails into the settee, but it sliced it right off _ My claws were out! I stared at my skin turning incredulously, it was turning pale!

"Mikail, are you okay!" I heard Liam's panicked voice from afar. I knew he wasn't close, we all know how dangerous my wolf could be, especially with my vampire descendants.

"Get…. me out of here!" I ground out, trying to suppress the growl building up from deep inside me.

My eyes were locked on the boxing ring for a reason I couldn't explain. I couldn't get my eyes off of the ring.

There was nothing special there, just the auctioneer and three girls, cowering at the far end of the ring.

My vampire sight was on high alert, scanning the ring, looking for nothing in particular.

Until I saw her, and I couldn't explain

It was like everything seized to exist. It was like everything fell in place at the same time.

My eyes immediately locked on her. There was nothing special about her, she had the same brunette hair as the other ladies but from my seat I could see she had slightly darker eyes than the other's azure eyes.

She was dressed in pants and a crop top and they were wet, but with my heightened smell, I could smell her natural scent.

My nostrils flared.

I felt my fangs elongate. I had to have her, now!

I stood up abruptly, taking a step towards the ring but a hand on my shoulder stopped me.

I turned towards the person who dated to put their hands on me, eyes burning bright blue, fangs bared ready to tear apart whoever was stopping me from reaching her.

It was Liam and all he said was, "Get in the car, I'll get her for you."

His eyes held so much understanding and pity that I calmed down a little. Taking a step back.

I practically flew outside to the car, grateful to Liam for stopping me. On my way to the car I caught my reflection in mirror.

What would she have thought about me; charging at her with eyes blazing, fangs and claws elongated.

I let out a chuckle. I was sure

she was a human from her scent. She'd probably faint. But just as the thought came it disappeared. Somehow I knew she wasn't the fainting type.
