Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Brant’s Bloodlust

Just a moment ago, Tyce and the others had racked their brains and finally landed on one possible explanation—Brant must've taken the night-luminescent pearl out himself and gotten robbed by Kaitō Kid afterward. But now Brant was calling and tearing into Tyce, clearly unaware of any theft.

That... made no logical sense at all!

"What?! You… you're saying I came back?!"

When Brant heard Tyce say that, it hit him like a bolt from the blue. He froze.

He leaned against the wall, his face grim, grinding out a curse. "Fk! Fk! He must've disguised himself as me and stole the pearl!"

"I never came back! You were all fooled!"

Only now did Brant finally realize what had happened back in his office.

If Kaitō Kid could disguise himself as Tyce, of course he could do the same with Brant.

His outburst sent a ripple through the livestream chat.

[No freaking way—disguise?]

[Unreal! Kaitō Kid can disguise himself too?!]

[So the guy who came back just now wasn't Brant—it was Kaitō Kid?!]

[Okay, I get disguising faces, but even Brant's size? That's insane!]

[Bro… Kaitō Kid's a legend.]

For every person celebrating, someone else was losing their mind. And right now, Brant was very much the latter.

He could maybe handle losing the night-luminescent pearl—it was worth hundreds of millions, sure, but he could take the hit.

But that file folder… it was like a dagger at his throat. One leak, and he was done for.

What they hadn't been able to figure out before was now crystal clear.

[Kaitō Kid's disguise technique is flawless. Totally seamless.]

[He's so good it's scary. Brant was way too full of himself.]

[Dear god, what else is this guy hiding? How much more power does he have?]

[Kaitō Kid wins again. Brant's definitely not getting any sleep tonight.]

Brant bolted upstairs and stormed into his bedroom.

He went straight to the wardrobe and spun the safe's mechanical lock.

Click—

The safe door swung open. The cash was untouched, other items still in place.

Only the document folder and the pearl were missing.

"That damned Kaitō Kid!"

Brant's face turned red with rage.

The safe hadn't been forced. No signs of damage.

That meant Kaitō Kid had cracked the combination.

And he hadn't even touched the cash or other valuables.

His only target—Blue Planet.

[Wait, the pearl was inside a safe?! How did he crack the code?]

[Bro… this is Kaitō Kid. Of course he can crack safes!]

[This whole thing's a masterpiece. What a heist!]

[But seriously, it was a dual-lock safe. How the hell did he figure out the combo?!]

Brant didn't have time to wonder how Zhang Yang pulled it off.

All he wanted was to get that folder back—fast.

When he saw Tyce and Carson still standing outside the room, he nearly exploded again.

"Tyce, shut the stream down! Kaitō Kid's humiliated us twice already—haven't we embarrassed ourselves enough?!"

Without a word, Tyce ended the livestream.

Brant stormed out of the bedroom, face like thunder.

"You can all leave now. I'll handle the rest."

Tyce slammed his fist against the wall in frustration.

Carson patted him on the shoulder.

"Bro, there's nothing we could've done. He disguised himself as Brant—that's just beyond what we're trained for."

"Come on. Let's go grab a drink."

They accepted the loss without complaint—not because they were lacking in skill, but because Zhang Yang didn't follow any rules at all.

By now, someone online had already broken down the entire incident. They zoomed in, enhanced the stream, slowed it down frame by frame… but still couldn't find the slightest flaw in Zhang Yang's disguise.

That level of disguise sparked a huge uproar.

[What the hell? How does Kaitō Kid's disguise even work?]

[Honestly, I'm starting to think Brant's playing the victim here. What if he's just framing someone?]

[Oh my god! This is unreal—not a single crack in the disguise?!]

[Kaitō Kid already posted the photo of the pearl. It's definitely not Brant playing tricks.]

[This doesn't look like a skin mask... and even if it is, the precision must be off the charts!]

People couldn't stop talking about the perfection of Kaitō Kid's disguise.

Plenty of folks uploaded the livestream replay, but not a single person could point out anything suspicious.

Meanwhile, Brant stormed out of his house and sped off in his car.

He wasn't just angry anymore—he wanted Kaitō Kid dead.

The file folder couldn't be allowed to see the light of day.

Brant drove straight to a tavern, walked past the bar without saying a word, and pushed open the door to an office in the back.

He didn't knock. Just walked in and sat down.

The room was empty. Brant sat in the chair and waited quietly.

About five minutes later, a man in his forties walked in. One hand held a bottle of whiskey, the other two glasses.

"Brant, my friend. What's with the long face?"

The man was Bob—a fixer for the underground world.

Whatever the request, if the price was right, Bob could handle it.

He had serious connections, and if there was one flaw, it was that he charged a fortune.

This place was one of the ways to contact him—and not just anyone got a meeting. Only the rich and powerful even had a shot.

"I need someone found," Brant said. "They call him Kaitō Kid."

Bob poured a drink and passed it to him.

"I know. The guy who hit the British Museum last night."

Kaitō Kid had already made a name for himself. Of course Bob had heard.

He'd even heard that Kaitō Kid's latest stunt involved Brant himself.

Before this, he hadn't paid much attention—but now that Brant had shown up in person, he already knew how it ended.

Brant gritted his teeth. "He just stole my private collection. A night-luminescent pearl."

"And a very important folder."

"I want you to find someone who can take him down—and bring back the pearl and the file."

He laid out his terms clearly.

"I just want to see the pearl and the file again. As for Kaitō Kid—dead or alive, I don't care."

That line told Bob everything he needed to know.

Brant didn't care about the person—he just wanted his stuff.

"No problem. I'll find the right guys."

Bob agreed without hesitation. He set his glass down and walked to his computer.

About ten minutes later, he turned the monitor toward Brant. On the screen were two profiles.

"Kelly and Carl. Former mercenaries. Combat vets. Been through hell. Just got back two months ago."

"Brant, they can handle the job. Only thing is… the price."

Bob didn't finish the sentence, but the implication was clear.

These two were top-tier killers—guys who'd crawled out of piles of corpses.

Tyce and Carson didn't even compare.

"Price isn't an issue," Brant snapped.

"As long as I get my stuff back."

No hesitation at all.

That made Bob grin.

As the middleman, he was going to earn a nice cut off this job.

Brant had hired him once before. This was their second deal.

"Brant, let me just clarify… you want Kaitō Kid caught, or do you want him…"
