Episode 8 – "Ghosts of the Spiral Flame"
---
[Scene 1 – Memory Echo: 1,000 Years Ago]
The screen is black.
We hear fire crackling… swords clashing… screams.
Then, a voice:
> Voice (female, calm but powerful):
"To burn for creation is divine. To burn for control… is corruption."
A goddess-like warrior with glowing spiral tattoos across her face floats above a battlefield of ash. Beside her is a shadowed man, wielding a curved blade wrapped in flame serpents.
This is not a dream. It's a Memory Echo, unlocked by Rei's contact with the relic in the last episode.
Before the scene fades, the shadowed man turns… and his eye is exactly like Rei's.
---
[Scene 2 – Rei Wakes Up in a New Place]
Rei wakes up in a hidden sanctuary, surrounded by floating flame lanterns and water mirrors showing alternate versions of himself—a swordsman, a monk, a beast.
Kael sits nearby, bandaged and quiet.
> Kael:
"The Flame Memory has chosen you. You're seeing timelines that never happened… but still exist."
> Rei (confused):
"What was that battle? That woman—she knew me."
> Kael (hesitant):
"That… was the First Spiral War. You just saw a piece of history no one else remembers."
---
[Scene 3 – Meanwhile: Hollowed Thirteen Prepare the Second March]
In the Hollowed Citadel, the twelve active members debate how to deal with Rei's growing power. Each has their own agenda.
Zeric, the Plague Artist, speaks:
> Zeric (grinning):
"Let the world see him as a threat. Push him far enough… and he'll spiral into the enemy they want."
Lady Miren nods, calculating.
> Miren:
"We need a puppet war before the real one begins."
Still, the 13th seat remains silent. But we see something new: a massive mural behind the seat slowly absorbing energy—a mural of a single figure standing above gods… face still hidden.
---
[Scene 4 – Zaru's Flashback]
Zaru, traveling alone, arrives at the ruins of an old Spiral Temple. He finds a broken blade he once fought with and sits by a grave.
> Zaru (to the grave):
"They're coming again. Same lies. Same gods in shinier clothes."
Flashback: Zaru during the first war—serious, calm, cutting through armies like wind.
A boy watches him in awe.
> Boy:
"How do you fight like that?!"
> Zaru (then):
"Because I've already died once."
Back in the present, Zaru's aura suddenly flickers with unstable wind and flame.
> Zaru (to himself):
"Guess I'll have to dance again."

[Scene 5 – In the Shadows: Tami Learns the Truth]
While Rei trains, Tami finds a hidden library guarded by sentient flame glyphs. She solves the puzzle using her elemental wit and discovers a sealed book: The Spiral Codex.
Inside, she finds a prophecy:
> "When the Spiral Flame returns, so too will the Silent Flame—the Watcher Who Waits."
It's a forbidden name. All references to it are burned.
But there's one thing left: a child's drawing of a man with glowing white eyes, holding two spiraled moons, burning an entire planet alone.
> Tami (whispers):
"That… can't be real."
---
[Scene 6 – Rei's Power Evolves Again]
Rei begins his next stage of Spiral Flame mastery: The Ember Veins, where flame flows through his blood, enhancing speed and perception.
Kael warns him:
> Kael:
"The stronger you become… the more you'll attract the one who gave us these powers. And he doesn't like being outshined."
The final shot of the episode: a black spiral flame briefly appears in Rei's eye—but he doesn't notice.
---
[Post-Credit Scene – Unknown Battlefield]
On a war-torn plain, a massive army from the Western Continent is shown gathering. In the middle, a giant spiral tower pierces the sky.
A commander walks forward.
> Commander:
"All units, prepare for Operation: Spiral Cage. We strike at dawn."
A soldier hesitates.
> Soldier:
"But sir… what if he shows up?"
> Commander:
"Then die standing."
Cut to black.
