Since the Uchiha massacre, the village hasn't shown any significant changes, and everything seems to follow the original canon quite closely, unlike what's happening in the rest of the region and the world in general, as the samurai group founded by Touki has had quite a bit of political prominence in the last two years. A group that ended up calling itself "Kami no chitsujo," or divine order.
The Divine Order immediately took advantage of the successes in the southern Land of Fire, expanding its activities throughout the southern region, although they also tried their luck in the Land of Tea and the Land of Noodles, with mixed results, as the Land of Noodles had too many agents, from Iwagakure, Kumogakure, and even Konohagakure, making it impossible to capture any city. But in the Land of Tea, a nation with a small population compared to the others, it proved easy for the Order to control almost half of the nation in a short time, even having a presence in its capital.
The divine order managed to gain control of much of southern Land of Fire, primarily in small and some medium-sized cities, as it is in the larger cities and the capital where resistance has become much stronger. The attitude of the order until now has been much more political than violent, resorting to aggressive methods when dealing with the underworld or ninjas from other nations, but when local forces are involved, the order tries to beat them at their own political game or resorting to softer methods, such as blackmail and threats.
The Touki samurai's reserved attitude is deliberate, as they learned the hard way not to take things too far in the cities and not to challenge the Daimyo's authority too much, having a terrible experience when one of their own attempted to lead a rebellion in a northern city, after murdering the local administrator and his entire clan.
It was called the Nakatani disaster, named after the city, where a highly skilled samurai, a new member of the divine order, took advantage of a corruption scandal involving the local administrator and led a veritable revolt in order to seize power. After the deaths of all those who opposed him, the samurai attempted to validate his power with the representatives of the Daimyo, but was surprised to find that not only did they not accept him, but they decided to violently suppress his rebellion, even sending ninjas to claim his head.
It turns out that the wife of the Nakatani City administrator was very good friends with the Daimyo's favorite concubine, who was not at all pleased by her unfortunate death. The order was immediately given, and an army marched from the capital to besiege the city, and a mission was sent to Konoha to eliminate the rebellion's leader.
The samurai leader of the rebellion, Saburo Amai, was a stubborn man and refused to surrender, despite the suggestions of other members of the order. It was dubbed the "Nakatani Disaster," not because of the defeat of the rebellion itself, but because of the cost incurred by all those involved in fighting it.
Saburo was a strong and skilled warrior, on par with a true jounin, even before joining the order. Once he acquired his sword and armor, he became a true beast in combat. He quickly rose to one of the highest ranks within the organization, becoming considered one of the apostles of the samurai god for his commitment to recruiting new members.
None of the capital's samurai were able to defeat Saburo, who managed to hold the city for nearly two weeks, even eliminating several ninja who tried to assassinate him. It wasn't until Konoha sent a special team, composed of Jounin and elite Jounin, that Saburo met his end, although not before seriously wounding half of the ninjas. The man, fulfilling his duty to the order, destroyed his sword before dying and activated an explosive he was carrying, which ended up destroying his armor and in passing his entire body.
The Nakatani disaster elevated Saburo to the level of legend in the eyes of the general public and caused remorse among some important figures in the nation, who saw how a samurai capable of standing toe to toe with the strongest ninjas was extinguished like a shooting star.
The divine order took full advantage of Saburo's image, managing to consolidate its position almost entirely in the southern Land of Fire and making some significant gains in the east. However, to avoid a repeat of the failed rebellion, a strict protocol of action was established with the order's members, even forcing Touki to intervene if any of them decided to act independently and without the permission of the Central Military Council, a new body created to coordinate the operations of the entire organization, with Touki as its de facto leader.
Touki, true to his policy, did not intervene at all while the rebellion was taking place, choosing to ignore the requests of some members of the organization to do something about it. After the disaster, he made it clear to the most important members of the order that he would not get involved in their internal campaign for control of the cities, and that they should turn to him when there were international conflicts or a member thought of betraying them.
The divine order, already with thousands of members in its ranks, underwent a strong reorganization in its last year, establishing a solid hierarchy, made up of several characters of great intelligence and management capacity. But what represented its greatest achievement was the birth of a new class of samurai, now officially called "Kami no shito" or "Apostles of God." A small but extremely strong group, all undisputed leaders, and all with the minimum strength of an elite jounin.
At first, Touki didn't pay much attention to what the members of the order were doing with their internal organization, but when he realized the symbolic and mystical nature it was taking on, he couldn't help but add a new rank to the organization, one that required his direct intervention, by means of a set of armor constructed from the highest quality materials and capable of bringing its level of defense very close to his personal armor. Touki thought of several names, but in the end decided to call them 'Yoguen-sha' or 'Prophet', and to date he has only delivered two of these armors, one to one of his favorite samurai and one to Izumi, who has become an extremely useful member to the organization.
It is worth noting that after the Nakatani disaster, Touki finally decided to add a special module to the armor of the 'apostles' and 'prophets', with the sole function of teleporting the wearer to a secret base in the land of tea, with the intention of functioning as an escape mechanism, thus avoiding the loss of individuals that are difficult for the organization to replace.
Izumi represented a challenge for Touki, in every way, since the adorable young woman he met for the first time in the bicycle shop, transformed into an impulsive, apathetic and extremely difficult to control character, who fulfills her obligations within the organization, but spends most of her time training, sleeping or lost in her thoughts.
Izumi's Mangekyou Sharingan turned out to have two abilities aside from summoning a strange black susano, which she doesn't seem to like using. The first ability is a kind of ghostly ice, which strangely doesn't seem to freeze anything it touches, but rather drains its victims' chakra and life energy, which Izumi called 'Tsuki no ikari' or 'wrath of the moon'. The second ability, and the most powerful, is a kind of temporary prison, where the victim of the attack is mentally affected by a powerful genjutsu, causing their thoughts and movements to be reduced to 10% of normal. Everyone present at the first test was horrified to see a person acting in slow motion. Izumi opted for the name 'Shiku no rogoku' or 'Prison of Thought'.
Izumi, upon using the abilities of her Mangekyou Sharingan, immediately noticed a loss of her vision, something that greatly frightened her and caused Touki to begin searching for a way to prevent or reverse the damage. The man worked for months with different types of healing artifacts, without finding anything to prevent or cure the damage immediately, but upon testing one of the red aura artifacts (yang + fire), Izumi noticed that it did something strange to her eyes, a very low and almost imperceptible effect. Thinking that it couldn't be anything bad, Touki made some glasses that produce a constant aura, focused directly on the eyes, which when worn by Izumi slowly began to regenerate the ocular damage, restoring the young woman's lost vision. The effect is quite slow, but theoretically should restore Izumi's vision in a matter of weeks, meaning that there is an effective way to combat one of the great weaknesses of the Mangekyou Sharingan.
But that wasn't all. The healing artifact's strange effect sparked Touki's suspicion that the red aura doesn't actually heal, but rather restores vital energy, or, in effect, rejuvenates organic tissue. This will undoubtedly require much more research to find far-reaching applications.
