CHAPTER 5 — "THE GIANTS MEET"
PAGE 1 Wide panel showing the Farfield and Garrison players warming up on the court. The arena is buzzing with energy. The hardwood gleams under the bright lights. The tension is high, the crowd roars in anticipation. NARRATION (TOP): The stage is set. NARRATION (BOTTOM): Farfield vs Garrison. The clash of two teams with everything to prove.
PAGE 2 Split panel:
Tabar warms up with a few hard dribbles, locking in on the court, sizing up his opponent.
Teddy stretches his long arms, looking focused, preparing for the battle.
Soulo spins a ball on his finger, eyes fixed on the competition.
Eli smiles, adjusting his headband, ready to take on whatever comes his way. SOULO: (to Eli) "We've got this. Just keep it tight and fast."
PAGE 3 The game begins with the tip-off. NARRATION: Two teams, two distinct styles. One will dominate through power, the other through speed and precision. SFX: WHISTLE! SFX: THWAP! Teddy wins the tip-off, tapping it back to The starting point guard, who gives it to Tabar at the top of the key.
PAGE 4–5 The first quarter is a chaotic exchange of power and speed:
Tabar drives and goes up strong, making a contested layup over Soulo.
Soulo responds with a dazzling crossover, blowing by Teddy and finishing with a floater.
Eli shows off his quickness with a fast-break three-pointer.
Teddy returns the favor with a hard dunk, powering through the lane. COMMENTATOR: "Farfield's power meets Garrison's pace—and it's a collision of styles!"
PAGE 6 Timeout Garrison. Score: Farfield 24 – Garrison 22. In the Garrison huddle, Soulo rallies the team. SOULO: "They want to play fast, we play faster. Let's hit them where it hurts—keep pushing the ball and control the pace!" Eli: "You know the deal, bro. We've got this."
PAGE 7–8 The game continues in the second quarter, and Farfield begins to show their strength:
Teddy grabs a huge rebound and powers through the lane for a dunk.
Tabar hits a three-pointer from the wing, getting the crowd hyped.
Soulo responds with a ridiculous behind-the-back pass to Eli, who finishes with a reverse layup. NARRATION: Farfield controls the inside, while Garrison speeds things up, trying to outpace them. SCORE: Farfield 45 – Garrison 41
PAGE 9 In the Farfield huddle, Tabar takes a breath, focused. TABAR: "Don't let up. We control the paint, they control the perimeter. We meet in the middle." Teddy: "Let's put the pressure on them. We can't let them build momentum."
PAGE 10–11 Third-quarter action:
Tabar makes a tough contested jumper over Soulo, showing off his scoring ability.
Eli hits another smooth three-pointer, cutting the lead to one.
Teddy answers with a huge block, sending the ball into the stands.
Soulo uses his agility, shaking Teddy with a hesitation move and then finishing with a high floater. COMMENTATOR: "It's a battle of wills, with both teams bringing everything they've got to the court!"
SCORE: Farfield 63 – Garrison 62
PAGE 12 Final minutes of the game, and the score is tied.
Tabar drives to the basket, but Soulo steps up and challenges the shot. Tabar kicks it out to Teddy, who makes a decisive pass to Tabar for an open three.
Tabar drains the shot, giving Farfield a four-point lead. SFX: SWISH! COMMENTATOR: "Tabar with the clutch shot! What a game!"
PAGE 13 Soulo quickly pushes the ball up the court. Eli spots up for a three, but Teddy contests it hard. SFX: CLANK! The ball rattles out as the buzzer sounds. Farfield wins the game! SFX: BUZZER!
PAGE 14 Farfield celebrates the win with a quick, silent acknowledgment of their hard work. Tabar pats Teddy on the back. TABAR: "We've still got more to prove. But this was a good start." TEDDY (smirking): "Let's show 'em what champions look like."
PAGE 15 Handshake line. Soulo and Eli approach Tabar and Teddy. SOULO: "Good game. You guys earned it." TABAR (nodding): "You guys earned our respect. Way to leave it all on the floor."
PAGE 16 Cut to Farfield celebrating in the locker room. The energy is high, but the reality of the B.Y.G League hangs in the air. NARRATION (BOTTOM): The journey is just beginning. The road to the B.Y.G League will test them like never before.
