Chapter 4 - Chapter 4:The Unwritten

"Don't sleep yet Paul,"

Why do you still refer to me as Paul, try being romantic babe, why not call me honey, bae, or even my love.

Smile's, "if you say so, my love don't sleep yet, you need to take a bath first."

"Am tired babe, I need help, you have drained the energy I have left completely, you are truly a badass, I can't even feel my legs anymore, he said while laughing.

Let's go shower together then, am sure you would love this suggestion of mine, and stretched towards him, she gave him a kiss.

"I love this I dea if yours, but why don't you go first, I will come join you my love, just walk straight down, the bathroom is at the next door by your right.

Paul has a very big and spacious master's bedroom, so it was very much different from the usual master bedroom space.

She got to the bathroom, the architect work was a masterpiece, old stone designs, high windows, chandeliers, a bathroom that looked like something from a luxury magazine. Jenny turned the tub tap on and stood by the clawfoot tub, watching the running tap water .

Paul walked up to her, a scar which ran through his shoulder, something Jenny never took notice of in the midst of their affairs in bedroom, the scar is a silent reminder of the world he came from, he was quiet, he turned the water off, and locked eyes with her.

They slid into the the tub water, his arm wrapped around her from behind, firm yet gentle, Jenny leaned into him, with her back against his chest, and their legs tangled under. The only sound at the time was that of the water sloshing softly as the adjusted.

Jenny reached out for the soap and sponge, gently and slowly dragging it across his chest, lingering over his scars.

Didn't notice this earlier, how did you get such deep scars, she whispered in all curiosity.

Paul smirked slightly. "It was a fight, knife fight in Colombia. A deadly fight that my opposition didn't live to tell the tales of that day.

Jenny, tracing the scars with her finger. "You scare me Paul but I still feel safer whenever I am with you. It just doesn't make sense to me."

"It doesn't have to make sense, nothing about me or this relationship should be ordinary." He said with his voice low, he kissed the back of her neck, wrapped in each other's warmth.

"I could stay like this for forever," she murmured.

"Forever is new and strange word In my world," he responded, in a deep voice, his face filled with uncertainty. "But for you, I'd try my absolute best.

He brushed wet strands of Jenny's hair from her face, her lips curved in peaceful smile, her eyes fluttered closed, he gave her a kiss on her forehead.

His phone buzzed repeatedly, he pulled himself out from the tub, water trailing down his perfect sculpted body, grabbed the phone, reading the messages with an instant change in emotion, a cold look.

In a blue, Paul tossed her a towel, the mood shifted. "You need to leave the bath tub immediately," he said with all seriousness.

Jenny in a confused state, "Did I do something wrong, what's the problem honey."

"I will explain everything to you later but first you need to leave my house."

Her heart stuttered. Jenny dried off her body and dressed in silence, her mind racing, she had lots of questions within seeking for answers, but couldn't summon the courage to speak up, a strange sense of adrenaline kicked in, maybe it was the dangerous love she felt the shared, and unexplainable guilt she felt withing her. But one thing was certain.

He isn't a normal, simple man, it dawned on her.

Jenny stepped closer, staring at him. "Are you no longer in love with me." She inquired, he drew her closer kissed her hard, their kisses were desperate, her hands trembling.

"I thought I lost you," she whispered against her throat.

"You didn't. "you won't", and "I am right here for you." And you can stay for the night".

The morning after was quiet - too quiet, which was unlike Paul, he has always initiated a conversation, but this time he didn't.

"Hey," Paul's voice was hoarsed as he stood shirtless, rubbing his eyes. "Are you okay."

Jenny forced a smile, "yeah I'm fine. Just thinking."

"Is he using me? Or was he protecting me from the truth of the messages he read last night?

He stepped closer, running a hand down the side of her face. "You still don't seem to know who I am."

"You are my weakness Jenny," and that's an abomination in the world I live and rule". What if you side with my enemies and ruin me." I am vulnerable when it has to do with you.

Jenny stood in front of the mirror, across a pink silk gown Paul had laid out for her to wear. "I am going to wear this for your sake." She whispered.

She smiled sweetly. "You have every reason to think of your safety and the world you've built," I will never sell you out Paul, "I love you with every fiber in me."

Paul starred at her, in awe and love mixing with disbelief.

"I am going to give you a befit of doubt, but please don't Betray or break my trust in you ."

Their love for each other bloomed. They were unstoppable, unapologetically in love.

Weeks passed.

Jenny's period was 10 days late. She blamed school stress, maybe the non-stop reading, late nights and class attendance. But something felt off in her body, her craving, her mood, the changes in her breasts, the constant tiredness, endless sleep, sensitive nose like that of a dog, metallic taste in her mouth, always trying to catch my breaths and constant headaches -- all pointed to something isn't right.

"Am sure Paul didn't ejaculate in me." He must have pulled out." She thought the pull out method was solid enough.

For a second, time frozen. She sat on the cold tiled floor, pressing into her skin like reality itself. Her mind spiraled.

"What should I do? "Hope it's not what I am thinking it is? "What if I am pregnant? "How will Paul react if I am pregnant?. Fear and uncertainty creeped in.

"I need to get a pregnancy test strip immediately," she hesitated for the fear of doom, she didn't want to get the test done

"I can't be pregnant," reassuring herself with tears falling off her eyes.

She summoned the courage, got dressed, and headed to the pharmacy to get the test strip.

"Hello, I need a pregnancy test strip," i want all the different types available." She said with a low shaky voice.

Jenny's life was just getting on track, debt free, luxurious life sponsored by her boyfriend Paul, her own apartment, and a boyfriend who made her laugh like no one else. But all this changed by one late period and a pregnancy test strip. A visible double Pink line.
