Chapter 2 - Chapter 01

The Demonic Incheon 2077.

This is an open-world game set in the Republic of Korea, which has acquired vast territories of Manchuria and Shandong Peninsula after the Third World War.

As the title suggests, it's a cyberpunk genre set in the near future of 2077.

It's a world dominated by an enormous, nation-level, mega-corporation, where money rules everything.

And 'The Demonic Incheon 2077' is a game that adds a heavy dose of nationalism to this world.

In the game, the Republic of Korea is the biggest beneficiary of the Third World War, which broke out in 2027. It has not only unified with North Korea but also annexed Northeast China, Beijing, and Tianjin, including Hebei and Shandong Peninsula, becoming a vast empire.

The population alone is 400 million, though most of them are Chinese, which is a bit of a problem.

Players can choose to play as either the male or female protagonist and enjoy a free-roaming gameplay. They can fight for justice against the mega-corporation or become its henchman and cause all sorts of chaos.

Alternatively, they can join a government agency to keep the corporations in check, fight corruption, and restore order to the nation.

Or they can accept a contract from the demon world, which is always eyeing the human world, and become a 'Great Demon' to create a demon empire, or become an 'Anti-Demon' to protect humanity by hunting down these demons.

Anyway, the game looks amazing.

Many gamers were enticed by it and opened their wallets, and I was one of them.

The problem is that the game turned out to be a piece of shit because they tried to cram too much into it.

Especially, the optimization was so bad that I barely managed to finish the game and immediately wrote a review.

I think the reason I got possessed into this game world might be because of that review. They probably wanted to teach me a lesson for insulting their game by sending me to this shitty world.

But it seems they couldn't set the target for possession.

'Good. I like it this way.'

In reality, I was a pathetic shut-in, but now I've opened my eyes as a third-generation chaebol.

And in this world, where corporate power is at its peak!

"Hoo..."

I stared blankly at the rising cigarette smoke.

"Today's date..."

"It's August 24, 2076, Sir."

A neatly dressed man in a suit responded to my muttering. He stood upright next to me, who was sprawled out like a loafer, with a sleek all-back hairstyle and black sunglasses.

His name was Han Kyung-baek, and he was a secretary who managed and assisted my every move.

In the group, he was casually referred to as Director Han.

'I need to act naturally, like Go Mu-yeol.'

I tried to hide my pounding heart. It was challenging to control my excitement about starting a new life, but I managed to calm down by recalling the personality and memories of my new identity, Go Mu-yeol.

"August 24th... Yesterday was the Victory Day, huh?"

"You remembered."

This guy?

I turned my head to look at him with a resentful heart, and Director Han quickly bowed his head, realizing his mistake.

Even without saying a word, he bowed his head just from my stare. This is what power feels like.

"I'm sorry, Sir."

The person I possessed, Go Mu-yeol, is also an orphan like me.

Of course, he wasn't born an orphan, but he lost both his parents in an accident when he was young.

Perhaps due to the shock of the accident, Go Mu-yeol grew up as the biggest troublemaker and headache for the Goryeo Group. He was having sex with prostitutes on Victory Day yesterday, which is the most important holiday in the Republic of Korea. That says it all.

Thanks to that, there were four drunk and unconscious women sleeping around the bed where I was sitting.

'This guy is crazy about sex.'

I have all the memories. But it's a bit ambiguous.

It's like I gained knowledge about what Go Mu-yeol has done through 'studying' and 'learning' about it.

It feels more like I acquired this information rather than remembering it as a memory.

Of course, I know that he had sex yesterday, but I don't know how it felt.

Well, that's a relief. Even though I'm possessed, I should exist only as 'me', and it would be awkward to have Go Mu-yeol's emotions.

This level of information is just right.

'Anyway... This guy had sex with prostitutes on Victory Day, what a stupid thing to do.'

Victory Day is a very important event for the Goryeo Group.

It's not just about commemorating the victory, but also an event where they invite major figures from the business and political world, showcase the power of the Goryeo Group, divide up various interests within the country among themselves, and exert influence on important domestic issues. In other words, it's one of the most crucial events for the Goryeo Group to control the country.

But he was having sex with prostitutes on that day...

'If I remember correctly, this incident was the tipping point that led to Go Mu-yeol being completely excluded from the succession line, and he was supposed to inherit some company called Goryeo Entertainment, which I've never heard of.'

Eventually, as the game's main story begins, Go Mu-yeol is no longer mentioned.

"Sir, the Chairman wants to see you at Geumsusan."

"..."

I put out the cigarette that wasn't fully smoked yet, got up from the bed, and stood up. My head was slightly throbbing.

"Geumsusan..."

"He's very angry."

"I can imagine."

I casually put on my clothes and left the room. Director Han followed me out.

The women in the room... The cleanup crew will probably take care of them.

As I stepped out, five young men and women quickly bowed and greeted me. One of the men ran ahead to get the elevator, while the others formed a protective formation around me.

A woman with long, flowing ponytail hair was diagonally in front of me. Her plump and jiggling buttocks caught my attention.

'...'

Did I lose self-control after becoming a chaebol? I couldn't help but reach out my hand.

'Ah.'

I mentally said 'oops' to myself. If this were pre-possession Korea, I would have been arrested immediately. It was a chilling moment.

Fortunately, the woman didn't react and kept walking silently. In the 76th year of the Republic of Korea, dominated by a mega-corporation, going against the will of a chaebol was almost impossible, no matter what it was.

I began to truly realize that I was possessed.

'Yes... I'm a chaebol now.'

And in the 76th year of the Republic of Korea, where corporate power is at its peak.

'...'

As I kneaded my left hand with a soft and pleasant touch, the owner of the buttocks showed no signs of displeasure.

I extended my fingers and slyly touched her vagina, but she didn't react. It seemed like she wouldn't resist even if I were to ravish her right there.

'The texture is amazing. This is a woman's buttocks.'

I couldn't help but massage it. For someone who had been playing games in my room, this sensation was incredibly stimulating.

.

.

.

The term 'Geumsusan' refers to the 'Goryeo Taeyang Palace' located in Geumsusan, Pyongyang. It was once called the 'Geumsusan Sun Palace' or 'Chairman's Palace' when North Korea existed, and after reunification, it was used as a memorial hall for the war victory.

Around 2050, the current chairman purchased it and it has been used as the residence of the family of the corporation.

The fact that the chairman bought the memorial hall and turned it into his residence shows how much the Goryeo Group values the war victory memorial day. The national victory memorial ceremony is still held here. Yesterday, the President and the Prime Minister must have all come to Geumsusan.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk."

Because of this, the chairman of the Goryeo Group, Go Young-man, clicked his tongue as soon as he saw me. Despite being over 70 years old, he looked like he was in his thirties, thanks to highly advanced anti-aging technology.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Chairman."

I bowed apologetically, but he turned his back as if to say he wouldn't expect anything more from me. And he didn't say a word.

"Sir."

Instead, the secretary who was standing by his side approached me with a paper bag.

"This is a gift from the chairman for you."

"A gift?"

I took the paper bag. This must be... the documents for the transfer of ownership of a company called Goryeo Entertainment or something like that.

Crinkle.

As I took out the documents and rudely tossed the paper bag onto the floor like a chaebol, the secretary quickly bent down to pick it up and explained, "This is an entertainment planning company called Goryeo Entertainment. Although the affiliated artists are not very well-known, the company has a capital of 100 billion won."

"Wow, 100 billion won."

Even in 2076, the value of the Korean won is the same as it was before the possession.

To be precise, the value of money has increased over time, but it has remained the same due to a denomination change.

Of course, 100 billion won is an enormous amount of money. It's enough to buy several houses in the center of Gangnam, Seoul.

However,

'For a chaebol, this is not even worth a penny.'

The chaebols of this era's Republic of Korea, especially the Go family of the Goryeo Group, officially have assets worth 13 quadrillion won.

13 quadrillion won!

Even if there are many members in the family, and they divide the assets evenly, each individual would still have at least hundreds of trillions of won. And this is just the disclosed assets.

But I only got 100 billion won?

'Fuck, you bastard. What kind of shit did you do?'

Greed knows no bounds.

Even becoming a third-generation chaebol is a great start, but because of this bastard's stupidity, I only got 100 billion won. This thought made me furious.

"Sir, your meal is ready. Please have your meal before you leave."

The secretary cautiously indicated that the matter was concluded. Anyone who wasn't an idiot would understand the chairman's intention.

'Sigh. I'll have to fix everything myself, what can I do?'

I took the paper bag from the secretary's hand, put the documents back inside, and bowed to the chairman, who was still turned away.

"I'll take my leave now... I'm sorry, Mr. Chairman."

The chairman didn't respond.

+++

The Goryeo Palace, which was once a palace, then used as a victory memorial hall, and now serves as the residence of the chaebol owner family, was extravagantly luxurious.

Even the hallway was adorned with world-renowned paintings hanging at arm's length intervals, and modern sculptures were placed here and there.

The ceiling was intricately engraved with a story that seemed to have no beginning or end, depicted in pictures.

'Even if I tear off the paintings here, they would be worth more than 100 billion won.'

How much did he displease the chairman? As I searched through Go Mu-yeol's memories, I understood why.

'Stupid bastard.'

"Stupid. Bastard."

"?"

What? Who said that?

Who expressed my thoughts so accurately?

There was a woman in front of me.

She had long, flowing hair, sharp eyes, and a teardrop mole on her right eye. She was a stunning beauty.

When I stopped, she pretended to be surprised and spoke in a demure manner.

"Oh my, did you hear that? I'm sorry."

It was obvious that she was speaking out loud, but she acted in a disgusting manner.

'...Is this Go Ha-yan, Go Mu-yeol's half-sister?'

Unlike Go Mu-yeol, who was a notorious fool and the epitome of incompetence, she was a capable woman. I remember that she later took up a high position in Goryeo or something like that, but I don't remember the details.

"I always thought you were high all the time, I didn't know your ears were so sharp~ I thought you were on drugs or something."

"Did you think so too, Sister? I also think Go Mu-yeol is a stupid bastard. We're on the same page."

"What?"

"Then I'll take my leave."

I bowed to the bewildered woman and walked past her. Behind me, I heard a voice muttering, "What's wrong with that bastard? Did he eat something bad?"

'It's not that I ate something bad, I possessed your brother's body. It was amazing.'

In a bad way.
