"As expected, just a bunch of D-Class rejects. It's only the first day, and so many are already slacking off in class."
"Enjoy it while it lasts!"
"In a month, you'll see what a real nightmare looks like."
Saiki Kusuo lifted his head, glancing at Chabashira Sae on the podium. Though she seemed indifferent, she was keenly aware of every student's actions.
Chabashira had no intention of explaining the school rules, leaving her students to their own devices.
'Each class starts with 1,000 points. Every month, students receive points equal to the class's total multiplied by 100.'
'Being late, using phones in class, sleeping—all will be recorded and deducted.'
'Looks like a few points have already been lost.'
Saiki Kusuo knew the school's rules. While its desserts intrigued him, he wouldn't use his powers to interfere with others.
Still, he wouldn't let his points be deducted due to others' actions.
As the bell rang, Chabashira swiftly left, seemingly eager to escape the classroom.
"Next class is PE! I'm so curious about this school's sports lessons."
"The schedule says our first PE class is swimming!"
"I wonder what the pool's like. And does the school provide swimsuits?"
The students buzzed with curiosity and excitement.
'Swimming's better than other sports,' Saiki thought, relieved.
Baseball or similar sports could've been disastrous if he accidentally threw a ball too hard.
'If I go to the changing room alone, I'll seem too antisocial. I'll find someone equally awkward.'
As Saiki headed to the changing room, he heard a familiar voice behind him.
He quickened his pace, hoping to avoid being noticed.
But just as he took a step, a lazy yet familiar voice called out.
"Saiki, want to head to the changing room together?"
It was Ayanokōji Kiyotaka.
'Saiki doesn't interact much with others. He barely speaks in group chats—definitely not a social type.'
'Yesterday, he approached Horikita about Kushida. Clearly, it wasn't his idea but Kushida's request. She's quite capable in that regard.'
'I don't want attention, but minimal social interaction is necessary. Otherwise, I'll be labeled a weirdo.'
Ayanokōji's thoughts were overwhelming. Saiki had never met someone with such a noisy mind.
Still, Ayanokōji had a point. Too little interaction could make him stand out more. Being labeled a weirdo would be troublesome.
Ayanokōji's personality mirrored his own—both seemed to hide secrets and minimized their presence in class.
Saiki glanced at Ayanokōji, his X-ray vision activating. He instantly saw the other's well-defined muscle fibers.
'His body's clearly been trained for years. For a high schooler, it's exaggerated. Must be related to the White Room he mentioned.'
Ayanokōji wanted to stay hidden, but Saiki had already uncovered his secrets.
With his abilities, Saiki could dig deeper into the White Room, but he wasn't interested.
Ayanokōji was special compared to others, but still just a human. His unassuming personality, however, suited Saiki well.
"Sure."
Saiki nodded, following Ayanokōji to the changing room. They changed into swimsuits and headed to the pool.
The pool area was vast, easily accommodating a hundred students. The water was crystal clear, with blue tiles at the bottom giving it an ocean-like appearance. Lifeguards stood by.
For this school, its students were invaluable resources.
"Saiki-kun!"
A light voice called out—Kushida Kikyō.
She wore the same one-piece swimsuit as the other girls, but her slender figure was unmistakable, a perfect 'S' curve that drew attention.
Saiki averted his gaze, knowing his X-ray vision could activate if he looked too long.
"You two came together?"
Horikita Suzune leaned against the wall, arms crossed, eyeing Ayanokōji and Saiki.
While her upper body couldn't rival Kushida's, her figure was stunning, with long, pale legs accentuated by the swimsuit.
"People like us who struggle with social interaction are rare," Ayanokōji said slowly.
Saiki glanced away. Though the PE teacher hadn't arrived, students were already diving into the pool.
Just then, he heard a familiar voice.
'Is this the D-Class after all these years?'
The voice came from behind the pool room's wall.
'That's Horikita Manabu, the student representative from the entrance ceremony.'
Saiki recognized the voice instantly.
