Ryo yelps, "Whyyyy?!" as he ends up turning on the Daily Training Mode by accident. Before he can even realize what has occurred, Selena and Seyra say simultaneously, "Father is calling you."
"Huh? O-Okay." Ryo answers slowly. He is led by them to the exclusive meeting room where the Vampire Lord and Dragon Emperor await him. As he steps inside, both of the influential individuals glare at him in silence for a few moments, and he feels like he was being put under utmost scrutiny.
The Dragon Emperor is the one who speaks first. "Ryo, which race exactly are you?"
Ryo pauses before responding, "I. don't know how to answer that."
The Vampire Lord continues, then, "So then what race are your parents?"
Ryo hesitates before responding, but decides to admit the truth to them. "My parents are human. I stumbled upon the invitation to this academy by mistake and ended up here, and I—"
Before he can complete his sentence, the Dragon Emperor cuts in, "You are claiming your parents are human, but you have both vampire and dragon powers, including those lost in ancient times?"
"Something like that." Ryo concedes.
Another voice pipes up from the edge of the room. It is an old man—or at least, Ryo had thought so—until the Dragon Emperor calls him "Grandfather." Ryo naturally guesses that he is Seyra's grandfather, but then he realizes that he is, rather, her great-grandfather. Well, dragons do live for an extremely long time.
The elder goes on, "Perhaps, years ago, two of this boy's ancestors—one vampire and one dragon—passed down their bloodline, and he has somehow tapped into their latent powers."
The Vampire Lord and Dragon Emperor both nod. "That could be the explanation."
Seyra then interrupts, "That still doesn't explain one thing. Why does he have mastery over all elements?"
She goes on, "Dragons usually inherit one or two things from birth. Perhaps, because his ancestors resided in the human world, his blood evolved over time, or. he's just an exception to the rule."
Selena shrugs. "Does it matter? Ryo is still my fiancé, anyway."
Seyra jumps in immediately. "No, he is mine!"
The Vampire Lord and Dragon Emperor lock eyes before bursting out laughing. "Then let the two of you marry him. Our nations can have an alliance, and as a compensation, we shall give Ryo his own land from both nations so that he may have a sovereign kingdom of his own."
Before Ryo can even think about what was just stated, everyone else in the room concurs. Naturally, as usual, he has no choice in the matter.
The Vampire Lord changes the subject. "Now, on to the next thing. Ryo, you should relocate your family from the human world to here. They could be in danger."
Ryo scowls. "What are you talking about?"
The Vampire Lord says, "You killed a noble today. They may seek revenge by attacking your family, and no race in this world can stop it—at least for now."
Ryo considers the situation before he answers, "But bringing them here could put them in greater jeopardy."
"No," Selena refutes. "Here, we can safeguard them. The nobles can be controlled. So, you should bring them here."
Then, after a pause for thought, Ryo finally decides that going home and getting his family to safety is the way to go.
Seyra smiles wickedly. "Shall we go on our first date?"
Ryo's eyes blink. "Go together? A date?"
Selena smiles. "Yes! We're meeting the in-laws. Let's go."
Ryo sighs forlornly. "Do I even have a choice here?!"
