My parents did not love me. That was the only thing I was sure about, because if they really really care about me then they wouldn't left me to anyone whom obviously was a stranger to them. They wouldn't left me in that rainy weather in the middle of the night in front of a Stranger's house, crying and seeking for the warmth of my very own parents. Wishing, hoping —- praying, that they wouldn't left me alone but they did, they still left even if I was only a few weeks old.
That was plain cruel. I shook my head to keep the thoughts away as the cab stopped in front of a beautiful Victorian-styled-house. I paid the cab and walked my way towards the beautiful house. I slid the key on the doorknob and twisted it; I opened the door and got in. I stared — in awe — that the place was so beautiful; stunning. I quickly walked up the stairs with my luggage and saw four doors. Full of curiosity, I opened the first door that was the nearest and let out a smile.
The room had a huge flat screen TV on the side and a long black leather couch across it. I threw my luggage on the couch and walked towards the TV, under it was an Xbox and different kinds of stuffs; CD's, DVD's, and a lot of game stuff.
My smile grew wider knowing that Eric was the one who requested this to his father, sensing that we were both a hooker to games and sports. I took my bag and got out of the room, finding the excitement that was building through me and eager to see the other three rooms left. I quickly pushed the door open that was crossed of the one I've been through, it was a bedroom; cream-colored walls with faint designs, tiled floor, a huge white floral bed in the center and a medium-large flat-screen TV in front of a small couch at the foot of the bed. A small leather seat was at the corner of the room. It looked so beautiful.
There were two doors connected to the room, which I was guessing were the comfort and closet room.
After like half an hour of going around the house, I got back to the room that I've chosen.
The last door had a huge brown master bed with different markings and designs. A faintly floraled-wall, tiled floor, and medium-large black flat screen TV, a comfortable room that was well-cleaned and was surrounded by large mirrors. There were three knobs on the mirrors on the wall, the two knobs were for the closet room while the last single one was for the restroom. A mini refrigerator was at the corner of the room. The bathroom had a shower, bathtub and everything that was needed. The last room was an attic, but clean; neat and well arranged. I closed my eyes and lie on the bed. My body was kind of sore for stretching myself out, my energy and my mind was in fretful thoughts. I have to sleep to keep up for the whole day since tomorrow; I would be going to school.Ironic.
I just got in the place yet I was already starting school the next day. I should have had persuaded them to let me enroll myself and now, there's nothing I could do but go to school. I just hope everything turns out well.
My eyes fluttered open as the sun peeked through the window, lighting the whole room and blinding my eyes to the sight that I have to blinked a few times before my sight re-adjusted to the sudden impact of it. I sat up and stretched my arms as a light yawn fell out from my lips, making me want to go back to sleep. I took my cell phone from the wooden bedside table and saw that I have two missed calls and four messages. I opened the messages and smiled; it was from mom and dad. The other two were from Eric.
Dad
- Hi little girl, did you land well? We all miss you here. Stay away from danger, okay?
Mom
- Alexa, sweetie? Take care and always call us, every day, okay? Remember that. Love you.
Eric
- Are you already there? Please text back.
Eric
- Alexa, please reply. I'm getting so nervous here if you're really safe. Come on, baby girl, please. At least send a message, even if it's just 'I'm fine'.
I shook my head while laughing at the last message. I stood up, not bothering to find out who called, knowing that Eric was the one who will call to me at times like this.
I got in the bathroom and did my normal routines, just like back home though it was kind of different since I should be waking up Eric now. I put on a black jeans, white tank top and two-inch sandals. I combed my hair and put it in its normal style, not wanting to do anything but just got through the day.
I walked out of the house half an hour later and waited patiently for the school bus to arrive. A few minutes later, I got in the blue school bus and was looking for an empty seat. I could feel the stares of the students bore on me until I saw an empty seat at the back. I rolled my eyes and sat comfortably as the bus started to move
My head stayed down as I kept walking on the hallway while feeling uneasy. Almost all of the students were staring at me and it wasn't comfortable even one bit. Half walking and half running, I stumbled towards the office and forced a smile towards the woman that was behind the table and sitting on a chair.
"Is there anything I can help you with, sweetie?" She asked with a smile.
"New student, Alexandria Scott," I responded in a respectful way. "Ah! Miss Scott," she nodded her head as she took out something from a file of folders and handed me a sheet of paper. "Here you are. This is your schedule and map of the school ..." she pointed out at the sheet of paper, "... And lastly, this is the code for your locker," she slid a small card in front of me with numbers.
I nodded my head and smiled at her genuinely, "Thank you."
"You're welcome..."
I turned around, walked out of the office, and looked at the sheet of paper. Schedules, schedules; I bit my lower lip while restraining myself from walking out of the school and taking a first-class ticket back home. It was so uncomfortable to know that I was back to square one where I knew no one in school but the difference was that Eric was there to comfort me while I have no one here. I sighed and continued walking without bothering to look where I was going.
My head bumped into a wall so hard that it hurts. I rubbed my forehead to ease the pain even for just a little bit. It kind of helped since it didn't sting that much anymore.
"I'm sorry," I mumbled as something registered in my mind.
A wall never wore shoes. It didn't have legs, chest, nor a neck.
A gasp left my lips as I realization hit me. The wall I hit was actually a person that it made my brows furrowed, what kind of human had that kind of body? On top of that, he was hard as a stone. He must be working out by the amount of hardness it costs so much to hurt me. Not meaning to be rude, I looked up only to see a pair of electrifying blue eyes staring right back at me.
His eyes darkened, turning into a shade of darker blue. Odd. He took a deep breath, making my brows ceased deeper. "Mate," he suddenly growled in a deep husky voice that sent shivers down my spine.
I felt a lump formed in my throat as my eyes bored into his features. He had a well-squared jaw that made him more intimidating and dangerous. He was unshaven making him look rugged yet boyish and it added more to his charms. He had sharply pointed nose that made him looked matured. His lips were full that I was trying my best to restrain myself from kissing him.
He kept on taking deep breaths while staring at me. The corner of his lips arched making my heart beats rapidly. I closed my eyes and pushed all the thoughts away that I was thinking of. I shouldn't be thinking of jumping on him like an animal! I took a deep breath which I instantly regretted when his scent attacked my nose. So masculine.
With a frown, I opened my eyes as just what he said sank into my mind.
Mate? What the heck did he mean?
