My name's Daniel Ra Vindaloo, and I think I am hallucinating.
"Did I drink too much?"
I think I did. Ever since the accident, I have been pretending to be worthless so I don't get involved in the family struggle. But what is this in front of me? Some sort of magic?
In front of me is a blue blur board, floating, with texts. And nothing else. It just… there. I tried to touch it, but my hand just went through. It was transparent and yet glowing bright but not blinding. Is something in my drink or my secret magic training awakens some ancient magic?
"Young Master?? May I come in?"
"Sure, come in, Alice"
Alice steps inside, and she doesn't look any different at all. Her dark red hair reaches to her hip, and her violent eyes are otherworldly. In a maid outfit, it is just like adding a finishing touch to the finest masterpiece. Her beauty is far more striking than my fiancée's. And her face, well, it's expressionless like always.
I have to talk to Alice about this. She is the only person I can trust in this household. Partially because she is bound to me by slave magic that nobody can overwrite.
Well, I was somewhat of a genius. My magic can be considered top-notch in the entire kingdom of Amoni. Reaching the 4th circle at the age of 13— if you don't call that a genius, I don't know what is. I can also wield a sword, spear and bow, but magic is always my favourite.
But on one unfortunate day, I was poisoned. That poison almost destroyed my circles. I can still feel the pain, the pain that my circles shatter in a matter of seconds and the sensation of blood; it was like yesterday. Of course, I recovered in a matter of weeks, but I decided to hide it. Because whoever did this knows that I am okay, they will do it again. I don't want that, not now.
So, I asked Alice about the blue board in front of me, but she seemed lost. I mean, she is expressionless most of the time, but this time, she genuinely doesn't know what I am saying.
That means only I can see this blue board.
I was lost in thought so much that I didn't notice Alice come close to me. She looks worried, which is unusual.
"Young Master, are you hallucinating??"
"No. That's not it. I'm just lost in thought—I will be sure to tell you once I figure it out"
I said it casually, but Alice's worries just increased. I don't know what she is thinking. Well, not like she can do anything.
