Prologue

*crash! Bam!!

It felt like as if the world itself was going to end. Building came crashing down, people panicking en masse, the streets in the urban city lay in dissarray.

And then...

Akin to pressing the mute button on a running video. All went silent. No, perhaps this was more like refreshing a running tab. All the animations of the world just stopped and then a canvas of white.

"Am I dead perhaps?" I quietly muttered to myself. I wondered to myself; was this an odd thing to think ask when one has passed? What exactly does the deceased ask themselves when they find out that they had died? No... I'm getting distracted here.

I analyze my surroundings, it was a bleached corridor, completely barren and devoid of any color, life nor even sound. It was eerie yet, at the same time i found nothing odd about this situation of mine.

"Have I gone crazy... or perhaps i subconsciously think this is a dream...how am I so calm?"

I asked myself, only to be greeted by the echoes of my own voice. But, just then as if in reply to my own questions, a saw an endpoint.

The bleached canvas where I found myself seemed to have stretched into a corridor. I discovered an end to this blinding white that covered every inch of the room.

And so I started walking...

"Beep, Beep, Beep"

"..."

"Ugh..."

I groaned in pain as the reverberations of the loud alarm clock rang through my eardrums.

"Fine, fine I get it..."

I smacked the clock putting an end to its dreadful sound. Putting a start to another monotone day.

*Beep! "Just in! The light district murderer has claimed their 82nd victim! Here im-

*Beep! "Hahahah! You are really quite the jester mister-

*Beep!

"Man, is there nothing interesting on right now? Seriously... my foods getting cold!"

I grumbled to myself as I endlessly scroll through the channels on my tv, getting my food cold.

"Ack! S##t, i should've just stuck to the comedy channel! All that pointless scrolling has me on the clock."

I scramble through my belongings, eagerly trying to maximize the remaining time I have.

I always tend to forget about work. As a person living a dead end office job, works the last thing I want on my mind. I subconsciously let out a sigh.

"Man, when will something interesting happen...it's always the same damn thing-"

It seemed like that day apparently, the very gods themselves were listening to my complaints.

As the elevator I rode was getting up to the 70th floor, the ground beneath my feet shaked violently. And then a loud noise above my head could be heard. It sounded like something being torn.

S##t the elevators gonna crash...

Resigning myself to a bitter fate, I closed my eyes. Atleast something different finally happened right...?
