The apartment was heavy with silence, tension vibrating in the air like an unspoken confession.
YoungBok and Sherri sat facing each other, words still lingering between them, too heavy to erase.
Then the door swung open.
Hyunjin stood there, breathing hard, eyes wild with emotion.
In his hands, he held two black roses — rare, mysterious, beautiful — and a small velvet box.
Sherri gasped, rising from her seat.
YoungBok simply watched, as if he had been expecting this moment all along.
Without hesitation, Hyunjin stepped inside, walked directly to them, and knelt down on one knee before both of them.
His hands trembled slightly, but his voice was steady as he spoke.
"I can't live without either of you," Hyunjin said, his gaze shifting between YoungBok and Sherri.
"You both are my everything. My heart isn't whole without the two of you. So..."
He opened the velvet box.
Inside were two rings — simple, yet elegant, each engraved with the words Forever Us.
"I'm not choosing between you," Hyunjin said, his voice thick with emotion. "I'm choosing both of you.
Marry me. Both of you."
Sherri's eyes widened, her hands flying to her mouth in shock.
YoungBok, without a second of hesitation, leaned forward, took one of the black roses, and nodded.
"Yes," YoungBok said fiercely, his voice filled with conviction. "Yes, Hyunjin. Always, yes."
Sherri staggered back a step, heart racing, head spinning.
This wasn't real. It couldn't be real.
"I... I…" she stammered, lost in the flood of emotions.
She wanted Hyunjin — she had always wanted him. But this?
This was beyond anything she had ever dreamed.
"Sherri," YoungBok said gently, standing up and taking her hand in his.
"You love him. I know you do. And he loves you. He loves me too. We're stronger together. Say yes."
Hyunjin's eyes pleaded with her, wide and desperate.
Sherri blinked back tears, her heart thundering against her ribs.
"I…" she started, but then stopped, steadying herself.
"I have a demand," Sherri said finally, her voice trembling but determined.
Hyunjin and YoungBok both looked at her, waiting.
"If we're going to do this," she said, "then I want it to be forever. Not just between me and you, Hyunjin. But between you and YoungBok too. I want both of you to promise me that you'll never leave each other — that you'll protect what you have, even when things get hard."
Hyunjin's face softened, his lips curving into a small, emotional smile.
"I already promised that the day I first fell for him," Hyunjin said, reaching over and brushing a strand of hair from YoungBok's forehead.
"And I promise it again now, Sherri. To both of you."
YoungBok squeezed Sherri's hand reassuringly.
"Hyunjin and I… we're forever," YoungBok said softly. "With you, it'll only make us stronger."
Sherri's heart melted.
Maybe this wasn't the traditional love story she had dreamed of.
Maybe it was better.
This was real.
This was family.
This was home.
Tears sliding down her cheeks, Sherri finally whispered,
"Yes."
