Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Attack at Prague

Location: Prague

Jack Mayors navigated the cobblestone streets of Prague with practiced precision, his instincts alert for any sign of danger. The wind whispered through the narrow alleys, carrying the sounds of the city: children's laughter, vendors calling out their wares, and the murmur of conversations. Yet, an unsettling feeling gnawed at him. He glanced over his shoulder and caught sight of two shadowy figures trailing him, maintaining a careful but unrelenting distance.

As Jack crossed the street, his eyes fell on a familiar truck. It was the same one he had seen fifteen minutes ago, its faded paint barely visible amid the city's busy backdrop: NE 413 DES. A sense of unease gripped him. Just as he turned to change his route, the distant wail of police sirens pierced the air. Before he could react, a thunderous explosion erupted, the ground buckling beneath him and sending him hurtling through the chaos.

The world spun violently, and his ears were assaulted by a high-pitched whine. As the dust settled, Jack's senses sharpened, revealing a scene of utter devastation: debris scattered across the pavement, bodies lying in grotesque contortions, and the truck's side panel flung open. Extraction operatives emerged from the wreckage, their guns blazing. Jack's instincts kicked in, and he dove behind a nearby wall, narrowly avoiding a deadly barrage as police vehicles were engulfed in flames.

Heart pounding, Jack forced himself to focus. Breathe... Anticipate... Don't hurry... Now, kill. His training took over as he raised his pistol, every shot deliberate and precise. Three operatives fell, their bodies collapsing in a bloody heap.

A glint of metal caught his eye—an SLR rifle lay just beyond reach. Jack seized it, but the operatives were closing in from all directions, tightening their deadly noose. Desperation surged through him as he fought to maintain his position. Suddenly, a car roared into view, smashing through the barricades with a deafening crash. Jack's pulse raced as he recognized Tyler Rake behind the wheel.

Tyler skidded to a halt, offering Jack a brief but crucial opportunity. Jack leaped into the vehicle, feeling the metal screech as it collided with a nearby wall. Tyler's gunfire cut through the chaos, providing temporary cover as Jack scrambled toward a nearby wagon, adrenaline surging through him.

The arrival of the Reykjavik Team escalated the violence. Machine guns tore into the wagon, turning it into a pincushion of destruction. Jack barely had a moment to react before another car slammed into the Reykjavik Team's vehicle. It was Nik, Tyler's trusted companion, arriving just in time to make a crucial difference.

The scene erupted into a maelstrom of gunfire and destruction. Jack fought alongside Tyler and Nik, each moment a desperate struggle against overwhelming odds. The once-peaceful cityscape of Prague was now a brutal battlefield. The air was thick with the stench of gunpowder, and the cacophony of destruction was deafening.

As the wagon lost balance and began to crash through the building, Jack sprinted atop it. The vehicle's chaotic movement threatened to throw him off, but he clung on. The wagon plowed through the building, its impact collapsing structures and sending debris flying. At the end of his precarious perch, Jack jumped as the wagon continued its destruction, landing on a car that had drifted through the wreckage. Tyler was there, his face a mask of grim determination.

The city lay in ruins, its once-vibrant streets now a tableau of devastation and death. Nik, Jack's steadfast ally, had died a hero. The loss cut deep, but there was no time for mourning. The battle had taken a personal turn, and the journey ahead would be fraught with even greater peril.
