The little girl, now powerless, was weak and panicked. She couldn't believe someone could take away superpowers.
"Surprised? Maybe no one in your world could do this, but unfortunately... I'm not from your world. So, I took your ability. Since you're still young, I won't kill you," Su Zhan said.
"Why... why did you take my ability? I still wanted to—"
"You still want to save your mother, right? Don't worry, no one from the Organization will take that serum away. As for your mother, if I get the chance to return, I'll help you save her. I remember... your mother is still very beautiful. Alright, we have nothing to do with each other anymore. My hunt has just begun!" Su Zhan said, his lips curled into a ferocious smile as he watched two people leave the protagonist's house.
Su Zhan didn't chase them immediately. Instead, he used his newly acquired precognition to locate the two. The ability was indeed powerful, he could see fragments of the future. As long as he could identify the place or time in those fragments, he could act ahead of others. Unfortunately, the visions were incomplete and random, so in unfamiliar environments, the success rate was low. After the novelty wore off, Su Zhan realized the power was limited unless it could evolve.
"Found you!"
Spotting the two "trackers" nearby, Su Zhan walked up behind them and put his arms around their shoulders. The two were startled and tried to react, but Su Zhan said, "I know where the woman you're looking for is."
They paused, and in that instant, Su Zhan activated his devouring ability, swallowing both their powers at once. They struggled fiercely but couldn't break free. Their attacks had no effect on Su Zhan, whose expression didn't even change—except for a mocking smile.
"Whew, absorbing two at once is really troublesome. Without the evil heart, I might not have managed it," Su Zhan muttered after a moment, releasing his grip as the two collapsed to the ground. He left quickly.
"Three abilities obtained—sonic, precognition, and tracking. Since I absorbed tracking from two people at once, it seems to be enhanced, but I'm not sure how. I'm also not interested in testing it."
"What's left? Mind control, mental control... and memory deletion." Su Zhan was especially interested in the ability to erase memories. After leaving the dungeon, it would be useful for covering his tracks. However, it wasn't particularly strong and could be countered by memory restoration, so it had to be used cautiously.
By now, about four hours had passed since entering the dungeon. Most of the time had been spent experimenting with precognition, but there was still enough time left.
He quickly found the person with the memory deletion power, seized the ability, and erased the man's memory at the same time. However, he seemed to have overused it—the man's entire memory was wiped away, leaving him like a newborn baby.
After absorbing four abilities, Su Zhan felt much stronger—and his urge to devour powers only grew. He headed to the protagonist's house, but the little girl hadn't arrived yet. The protagonist was missing, likely having escaped after the trackers visited. The girl's sudden appearance must have disrupted his plan.
"Should I go after him or not?"
Su Zhan frowned. He could use the tracking power to find the protagonist, but the man was experienced at escaping. Even if he could find him, it would take too much time—and Su Zhan didn't have that luxury. Besides, the urge to devour was getting stronger.
Suddenly, the door was kicked open. Another sonic man entered, followed by the prophet Pop girl, lollipop in hand. They were startled to see Su Zhan.
"Run!" Pop girl shouted, but it was too late.
Su Zhan moved swiftly, slamming the door shut to block their escape. The sonic man tried to attack, but Su Zhan struck his Adam's apple, knocking him down, then used his lighter to control flames and block the door, trapping Pop girl.
"I was worried I couldn't find you, but you came to me. So, I won't be polite," Su Zhan said, his eyes red and his smile ferocious. He crouched by the sonic man and devoured his power, the evil aura growing stronger.
"Your turn, Prophet," Su Zhan said, approaching Pop girl.
Bang! Pop Girl pulled out a gun and fired at him, but Su Zhan was too fast-even at such close range, he dodged the bullet with ease. Her desperate attack only enraged him further. In a flash, he was in front of her, his hand closing around her throat and lifting her off the ground. Pop Girl kicked and struggled, but Su Zhan's grip was unbreakable.
He looked at her, her slender legs thrashing, her face twisted in fear and anger. For a moment, something wild stirred inside him, an urge that was almost overwhelming.
He set her down-then, with a fierce, wicked smile, he moved in, his intentions unmistakable.
