Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: An Unexpected Encounter with the Invisible Woman

Coulson hadn't expected things to unfold this way, but he trusted Su Zhan's judgment. After all, Su Zhan wouldn't target Camilla without a reason-especially when they hadn't seen each other in years, and people change. Now, Coulson actually felt a sense of relief. He was lucky to have Su Zhan on his team, lucky that Su Zhan possessed such remarkable abilities. If not for Su Zhan, the 0-8-4 might have been stolen, or even if it wasn't, the plane could have ended up with a gaping hole in its hull-a disaster either way.

After this incident, Coulson fully realized just how invaluable Su Zhan's ability to predict the future was. Even though Camilla no longer seemed to have any ill intentions, Coulson still didn't feel comfortable. He carefully secured the 0-8-4, contacted headquarters, and arranged for the artifact to be delivered to a secure facility as soon as possible.

In truth, Camilla had given up on any schemes. With just herself and her soldiers, she knew she was no match for someone like Su Zhan. In the face of overwhelming power, even ambition had to yield. She acted with complete honesty as the plane landed, said her goodbyes to Coulson, and quietly left with her people.

With the crisis perfectly resolved, everyone on the team could finally relax. They were especially reassured knowing that Su Zhan had used his precognition to avert disaster. With Su Zhan around, they all felt that many future dangers could be avoided.

After a simple celebration, the plane headed back.

Later, Su Zhan went to Skye's room and knocked on her door. "Skye, when we land, do you want to go out for a walk? Maybe find a place to eat?"

Skye looked apologetic. "Sorry, dear. I'd like to, but I want to keep working on some clues I found."

"That's fine! I'll go out for a stroll. If you need me, just call," Su Zhan said with a smile, then left to explore on his own. Although the plane was comfortable, it couldn't compare to the vibrant world outside. Su Zhan wasn't someone who needed constant excitement, but he wasn't going to confine himself unnecessarily either. He decided to head out, maybe find a bar, have a drink, and see where the night would take him. Who knew? Maybe he'd have an interesting encounter.

He found himself in Queens, New York. Checking his phone, Su Zhan found a bar nearby that was rumored to be lively and full of beautiful women. He followed the address and soon found himself in a place pulsing with music and crowded with people. He scanned the room, noting several attractive women, but most were already surrounded by admirers. Su Zhan had no interest in competing for attention.

Then, in a corner, he spotted a stunning blonde-easily a nine out of ten. She had a doll-like face and an aura that set her apart. Su Zhan immediately made his way over and sat beside her.

He signaled to the bartender, indicating he'd pay for her next drink. "Two of whatever she's having," he said.

The blonde glanced at him, her tone icy. "If you're trying to pick me up, don't bother. I'm not interested."

"Interests can be cultivated. Hi, I'm Su Zhan," he replied with an easy smile.

"I don't care who you are or what your name is," she snapped.

Su Zhan shrugged. "Well, it seems you're not in a good mood. Still, since this is my first failed attempt at a pickup, I hope you'll give me some face."

The bartender brought their drinks. Su Zhan pushed one toward the blonde, who downed it in one gulp, then stood up and left, swaying slightly.

"Well, I really did fail this time," Su Zhan muttered, not taking it to heart. He enjoyed a few more drinks, soaking in the atmosphere and admiring the scenery. After four or five drinks, he decided to leave-he wasn't a heavy drinker and didn't want to get drunk.

As he left the bar, Su Zhan noticed the blonde wandering into a dark alley, with a suspicious man following her. "You've got to be kidding. Am I about to play the hero and save the beauty?" Su Zhan muttered, quickening his pace.

Even though she'd rejected him, he couldn't just ignore her, especially since she was beautiful. It would be a shame if something happened to her just because she'd had too much to drink.

"Get lost!"

Just as Su Zhan approached, the blonde suddenly turned, thrusting her hands forward. Instantly, a wave of energy blasted the man back several steps!

"What the...?" Su Zhan blinked. He'd been ready to play the hero, but clearly, she didn't need saving at all.

"That was a telepathic attack just now?" Su Zhan was curious. There was no visible trace, he only felt a wave of energy. There were many people in the Marvel world who could attack like this, but not many beautiful blondes. The first person who came to mind was Susan, the Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four, but… she looked a bit different.

Wait… Looking closely, it really was her. She just wasn't wearing her Fantastic Four uniform, and her hairstyle had changed a bit. In the dim light of the bar, he hadn't recognized her at first.

"Damn, what a coincidence. But this is Queens, New York-Spider-Man's territory. Why did I meet the Invisible Woman, Susan, instead of Spider-Man?" Su Zhan was surprised. She seemed to have drunk too much. He couldn't just leave her like this, right?

"Hey, Susan," Su Zhan called out.

Susan looked at him. "It's you, the guy from the bar. Are you with the Puppet Master?"

"What Puppet Master? I don't even know who that is-why would I be with him?" Su Zhan said, frustrated. Unfortunately, Susan ignored his explanation and raised her hand, launching another telepathic attack.
