Chapter 10 - The Duel of Kings

The Wrath of Satoshi

Satoshi took a single step forward.

The warrior collapsed to the floor, choking on air.

Satoshi's Eyes of Sloth burned deep blue, his voice low, calm, and deathly quiet.

"What did you say?"

The warrior gasped for breath, eyes darting around like a trapped animal. "I—I—"

Satoshi crouched down, resting his elbows on his knees. "Say it again."

The beastman shook violently.

Satoshi tilted his head, shadows curling at his fingertips. "No? Didn't think so."

Then—he smiled.

The killing intent vanished.

The weight lifted.

The air became breathable again.

The entire guild collapsed in relief.

Satoshi stood, brushing dust off his jacket. "Anyway. That was fun."

He turned back to Camila.

"Can I fight now?"

Camila rubbed her temples.

"No, Satoshi."

Satoshi groaned. "Camila, he insulted my mom."

"You still can't kill someone on your first day here."

Satoshi pouted.

Camila pointed at the warrior, who was still curled up on the floor, shaking.

"You already broke him."

Satoshi sighed. "Fine. But if the next guy insults my mom, I get to set them on fire."

Camila rolled her eyes. "We'll see."

The Aftermath

As they finished signing their paperwork, the guild slowly recovered.

The receptionist stared at Satoshi, still pale. "What… are you?"

Satoshi grinned. "Just a newbie adventurer."

The receptionist swallowed. "R-Right."

Outside, royal knights were rushing toward the guild, weapons drawn, thinking a demon had appeared.

Satoshi stretched, yawning.

"Anyway. Who's hungry?"

Amelia exhaled. "You're ridiculous."

Camila sighed.

And the city of Ephemeral would never forget the day Satoshi arrived.

The Radiance of the Golden Knight

The streets of Ephemeral were in chaos.

Whispers of a demon-level threat spread like wildfire. Civilians huddled together, eyes darting toward the Adventurer's Guild, where moments ago, an unfathomable killing intent had descended upon the city.

And now, as Satoshi, Camila, and Amelia stepped outside the guild's grand entrance—

They were met with a wall of knights.

Their silver armor gleamed under the twin suns, their swords drawn, magic sigils forming protective barriers around them. At their center stood a man unlike the rest.

Liam.

The Captain of the Royal Knights.

His golden hair shone like metal forged under divine light. His golden eyes—brighter than any mortal flame—stared at Satoshi and Amelia with a calm, unshakable intensity. A golden aura pulsed around him, radiating something beyond human.

Satoshi tilted his head. "Huh."

Liam exhaled, his gaze unwavering. "Which one of you unleashed that power?"

Silence.

Then—

Satoshi grinned. "That'd be me."

And Amelia, standing beside him, her Eyes of Lust glowing, simply smiled.

The Unshakable Will of Gold

Liam's grip on his sword tightened, his golden aura flaring for a brief second.

The knights behind him tensed, ready for battle.

But Liam didn't order them forward.

Instead, he studied Satoshi and Amelia, as if searching for something deeper beneath their power. His golden eyesnarrowed slightly.

"…Who are you?"

Camila stepped forward, her hand resting on her sword. "We're not enemies," she said, voice even. "There was a fight in the guild, but no one died."

Liam didn't look at her. His gaze remained locked onto Satoshi and Amelia.

He could feel it.

The power radiating off them.

An uncontrolled, raw presence that should not exist in mortals.

Then—

Liam took a slow step forward.

And the moment he did, Satoshi and Amelia's eyes ignited.

Eyes That Should Not Exist Together

Satoshi's Eyes of Sloth and Wrath burned at the same time.

A paradox. A contradiction. A thing that should not be.

Deep blue and molten gold, flickering together.

Beside him, Amelia's violet Eyes of Lust glowed, the very air around her warping subtly, drawing unseen attention, shifting perceptions.

For a brief moment, time itself seemed to slow.

Liam's golden eyes narrowed further.

Then—he moved.

Lightning-fast.

His sword flashed forward, cutting through the distance between them with divine speed.

Camila's eyes widened. "WAIT—"

A single metallic clang echoed through the street.

Liam's blade stopped.

Blocked.

By Satoshi's bare hand.

Wrath Meets Radiance

Satoshi's golden-red Eyes of Wrath gleamed.

He had raised his arm effortlessly, catching the blade with his fingers, the sheer force of the strike sending cracks through the stone beneath them.

But his expression was calm.

Amused, even.

Liam, still gripping his sword, stared at him.

The knights behind him were frozen.

No one—no one—had ever caught Liam's sword with their bare hands.

The weight of divine might, the sheer force of celestial energy behind it, should have been unbreakable.

And yet—Satoshi held it without struggle.

His voice was light.

"That's pretty fast."

His Eyes of Sloth flickered, and suddenly, his posture became even lazier, as if the entire event was too much effortto take seriously.

He let go of the blade casually, stepping back.

"Okay, your turn."

And then—

Satoshi's golden-red flames roared to life.

The Weight of a King's Fury

Liam instinctively stepped back.

Not out of fear.

But because the sheer pressure radiating off Satoshi felt like standing before an inferno that could erase existence itself.

His golden aura clashed against Satoshi's absolute fire, the two energies crackling violently as they met.

Amelia's Eyes of Lust burned brighter, her power slipping through the cracks in reality, spreading an unseen whisper of control throughout the air.

Liam gritted his teeth, his divine aura shattering the influence instantly.

His golden eyes locked onto Satoshi's burning form.

"…What are you?"

Satoshi smirked. "Just a newbie adventurer."

Liam's expression did not change.

"You're lying."

Satoshi shrugged. "Maybe."

Liam's grip on his sword tightened. "Your power. Both of you. It shouldn't exist here."

Satoshi's flames flickered out, returning to stillness as he stretched his arms, yawning. "Yeah, well, we're not from here."

Camila sighed, stepping between them before the entire city was reduced to ash.

"We're not enemies," she repeated firmly. "We didn't come here to fight."

Liam studied her for a moment. Then, he exhaled, his golden aura dimming slightly.

"…Then why are you here?"

Amelia's violet gaze sharpened.

"To prepare for a war."

Liam's eyes narrowed.

Silence.

Then, the golden knight sheathed his sword.

Satoshi smirked. "What? No more attacks?"

Liam ignored him.

Instead, he turned away, addressing his knights.

"Stand down."

The knights hesitated—but obeyed.

Liam turned back to them. His golden eyes held no warmth.

"If you want answers, follow me."

Then, without another word, he walked away.

Satoshi chuckled. "Man, I like this guy."

Camila shoved him forward. "Move."

And together, they followed the golden knight into the unknown.

 The Duel of Kings

The kingdom of Ephemeral was everything Satoshi had imagined—and more.

The castle was a masterpiece of divine craftsmanship, a fusion of enchanted stone and celestial metals, its spires reaching into the heavens as if challenging the gods themselves. Arcane sigils shimmered across its walls, flowing with golden light, and at its heart stood an ethereal sun, casting a soft glow over the entire city.

Satoshi walked beside Camila and Amelia, his Eyes of Sloth glimmering lazily, but his mind was sharp, taking in every detail.

Then—he turned to Camila, voice light.

"You know, Liam's totally another Sin, right?"

Camila didn't even blink.

"Obviously."

Satoshi raised an eyebrow. "And you weren't gonna tell me?"

Camila shot him a look. "I thought you'd figure it out yourself."

Satoshi chuckled. "Fair."

Liam was Pride.

It wasn't just a guess—it was obvious. His overwhelming presence, his absolute control over the battlefield, his refusal to back down. Every word, every step he took, was driven by an unshakable will.

And if Liam was Pride…

Then this fight was inevitable.

The Golden Princess

Before they could discuss further, a voice called out.

"Liam!"

A woman descended from the grand staircase, her radiant presence impossible to ignore.

Satoshi's gaze flickered to her immediately.

She was beautiful—not in a delicate way, but in the way royalty was meant to be. Her golden hair cascaded behind her, her golden eyes shimmering with a celestial glow. She wore robes embroidered with divine symbols, each stitch humming with enchantment.

And behind her floated six golden rings, rotating slowly, pulsing with an immeasurable power.

Camila exhaled softly. "Princess Athena."

Satoshi's grin widened. "Wait—Liam's a prince?"

Liam barely glanced at him. "Does it matter?"

Satoshi shrugged. "Not really."

Athena approached, studying them with piercing intelligence. "You're the outsiders," she said. "The ones Liam sensed."

Satoshi was about to respond—

But Liam stepped forward, drawing his sword.

"We'll talk after," he said simply. "First, we fight."

Athena's eyes widened slightly.

She turned to her brother. "Liam—you've never challenged anyone before."

Liam didn't look at her. "This is very different ."

The Battlefield of Gods

Before anything else, Camila spoke.

"Amelia."

Amelia sighed but nodded, lifting a single hand.

The world twisted.

Reality warped, shifting around them as Amelia's Eyes of Lust glowed deep violet, reshaping the space into a battlefield beyond mortal reach.

The sky shattered into an endless void of stars, the ground reforming into celestial marble, glowing with divine inscriptions. The very air hummed with power, ready to contain forces that could shatter worlds.

Camila stepped forward, her aura shimmering, wrapping the battlefield in an unseen layer of protection.

Satoshi grinned, rolling his shoulders. "Alright."

He turned to Liam.

"Let's see what the King of Pride can do."

Liam raised his sword. "We'll see who is stronger."

And then—

They moved.

The Clash of Titans

Liam vanished.

One moment he was standing still—the next, his sword was already descending toward Satoshi's skull.

BOOOOOM.

The impact shattered the battlefield, golden light erupting as Liam's sword met Satoshi's raised palm.

For a moment, silence.

Then—the entire space trembled.

Satoshi grinned.

"Fast."

He twisted, his Absolute Burning igniting, golden-red flames devouring reality itself, cutting through time and space.

Liam's golden aura flared, his Blessed Body repelling the flames, untouched by destruction that should have erased him from existence.

The elements roared, answering Liam's call—fire, water, earth, wind, darkness, and light, all converging into a single, unstoppable force.

Liam slashed.

A wave of pure elemental destruction surged forward, bending reality itself, faster than thought, faster than sight—

Satoshi laughed.

And then—

He unleashed chaos.

The Birth of Primordial Ruin

The moment Liam's attack neared, Satoshi's entire body shifted.

A force older than existence itself emerged.

The Primordial Chaos in his veins awoke.

The golden battlefield twisted—Liam's attack never reached. It simply… ceased to be.

It didn't burn. It didn't fade.

It unraveled.

As if it had never been there at all.

Liam's eyes widened.

"…Impossible."

Satoshi exhaled, his aura shifting into something beyond fire, beyond destruction.

"This," he said, "is fun."

He moved.

And the world ended.

A War of Kings

Liam's sword clashed against a force that should not exist, his divine energy collapsing under Satoshi's chaos.

Satoshi's flames roared, burning through the fabric of reality, consuming concepts, devouring time itself.

Liam, for the first time in his life, was being pushed back.

But his golden aura flared brighter.

His Angelic Armor manifested, forming an indestructible divine shell.

His Blessed Body regenerated, countering Satoshi's annihilation.

And then—

His Absolute Swordsmanship awakened.

Liam's movements shifted, his strikes becoming perfect, his blade cutting through all things, faster than thought, faster than chaos itself—

Satoshi's grin widened.

His chaos twisted, the very laws of existence bending at his will.

Their clash became something beyond fighting.

Beyond war.

It was a battle between two kings.

The King of Chaos.

And the King of Pride.

Their power shattered the stars, broke the sky, sent waves of destruction rippling through the void.

And on the sidelines—

Athena, Camila, and Amelia watched in awe.

Because never before had two beings like this existed in the same world.

And never again would they see a fight like this one.

The Duel of Kings: Part II

The battlefield was no longer a battlefield.

It was a fractured, ever-shifting reality, ripped apart by chaos and divinity, fire and light, destruction and creation.

Satoshi stood on one side, his Eyes of Sloth and Wrath burning together, a paradox in motion. Around him, the very fabric of existence trembled, his Primordial Chaos writhing like a living storm, ready to consume everything.

Across from him, Liam's golden aura blazed, his divine armor gleaming with impossible radiance. He stood unshaken, his golden sword humming with celestial power.

Between them, reality fractured, the sheer pressure of their presence causing the stars above to dim, the marble beneath them to crack, and time itself to stall in hesitation.

They had already transcended the mortal plane.

Now, they would see who stood at the peak.

Then—

They vanished.

And the fight truly began

Beyond Speed, Beyond Power

To the spectators, Satoshi and Liam were no longer visible.

They had moved past the concept of speed.

Only the shockwaves of their battle remained—each clash sending devastating ripples through the air, through space, through time.

The first exchange—

Liam's blade descended, burning with divine authority, capable of cutting through fate itself.

Satoshi's chaos responded, unraveling everything in its path, erasing the concept of attack before it could fully form.

The second exchange—

Liam's golden wings expanded, and his body blurred, stepping beyond normal movement.

Satoshi's shadows pulsed, his Absolute Burning igniting as fire beyond existence roared outward, clashing with Liam's celestial defense.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

A single impact shattered the entire battlefield, sending shockwaves that split the sky in half.

Yet—neither had landed a decisive blow.

Liam's golden eyes narrowed.

Satoshi grinned.

They were still testing each other.

And then—Liam changed the rules.

The Blessings of a King

Liam exhaled, lifting his free hand, his golden aura expanding infinitely.

"Blessing of Strength," he intoned.

And the world shuddered.

Satoshi sensed it immediately.

Liam's power multiplied, his sword growing heavier, his movements becoming absolute.

"Blessing of Speed."

The air split apart as Liam vanished again, reappearing behind Satoshi before even a thought could form.

A golden arc flashed.

Satoshi barely tilted his head, the blade missing him by a single hair.

Liam smirked. "You can dodge. But can you dodge this?"

"Blessing of Perception."

Satoshi's body froze for a single fraction of a second.

Liam's sword descended.

And this time—

It cut deep.
