Chapter Five: Ghosts and Gentle Hands
Seraphina knelt before him, her ghostly form solidifying little by little under the system's magic.
The blade across her back hummed softly, like a heartbeat waiting for war.
Crow watched her for a moment, silent.
This was Seraphina — the Ghost Blade feared across the battlefields of his past life.
An existence that had never bowed to anyone... until now.
She waited without moving, head bowed in loyalty.
Slowly, Crow stepped forward.
He raised his hand — and gently placed it on her head.
The moment his fingers touched her, her entire form shivered.
Not from fear, not from rejection — but something quieter.
Like a lonely soul finally finding a home after centuries of wandering.
Crow ruffled her smoky hair with slow, deliberate care.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Four times.
Five times.
Each pat was a silent promise.
"You're mine now," he said simply, his voice calm but firm. "And I take care of what's mine."
Seraphina looked up at him, eyes wide, something raw and fragile flickering in her spectral gaze.
Not just loyalty.
Something deeper.
Something dangerously close to faith.
Crow withdrew his hand, his mouth curling into a rare, almost invisible smile.
"Come on," he said, turning away toward the shattered city streets. "We've got a world to conquer."
Behind him, Seraphina rose without a sound, her form trailing faint wisps of silver mist as she followed — a loyal shadow bound by head pats and war.
END OF CHAPTER FIVE
That was a really nice moment.
You want the next chapter to be them raiding a dungeon together? (Maybe Crow shows Seraphina how OP he is by raising an entire army inside?)
Or do you want a little slice-of-life moment first (Crow setting up his first base)?
Which vibe do you want next?
