Chapter 4: The Hidden One
The world had shattered behind them.
Jiho stumbled forward, dragging Jungkook with him as the portal ripped through the last fibers of their crumbling home. Dust and echoes swallowed the land they left behind. The blue shimmer of the portal flickered violently, growing smaller... smaller...
Neither of them noticed the slim figure darting after them.
A girl — eyes sharp, steps swift — flung herself through the closing rift at the very last second.
Nina.
By the time she landed, breathless and bruised, Jiho and Jungkook were already disappearing into the distance, lost among the strange landscape of the human world.
Nina lay still for a moment, feeling the strange hum of Earth around her. Different. Softer. Alive.
She grinned.
Hours Later
Nina wandered the streets, unnoticed. Her clothes were torn and dirty, but her eyes gleamed with intelligence. People passed by, offering sad glances, pity in their eyes. Perfect.
She found her target — a wealthy couple exiting a jewelry store, arms full of shopping bags, faces kind but tired.
Nina clutched her stomach, summoning fake tears, and stumbled toward them.
"Mom...? Dad?" she whispered weakly, weaving a tiny spell into her voice.
The couple gasped. Confused, concerned, their minds wavered — and the power in Nina's blood slipped into their thoughts like silk.
An "official" story bloomed inside their heads:
A plane crash. A lost child. No memory but a desperate love for them.
They embraced her. She buried her face in their coats, smiling slyly where they couldn't see.
Weeks Later
Nina's life transformed.
A grand white house, soft beds, servants bowing, endless plates of rich food.
She was enrolled in one of the city's top elementary schools, wearing crisp uniforms and leather shoes that clicked on polished floors.
At school, she was the perfect student: sweet, polite, dazzlingly smart.
The teachers adored her.
The other children whispered about her beauty, her charm.
No one guessed that behind her angelic smile was a mind sharper than a blade.
She watched humans with detached amusement.
Their emotions, their dreams — so simple. So easy to twist if she ever needed.
But she didn't need to.
Not yet.
One Quiet Night
Nina sat on her bedroom balcony, the city lights twinkling around her.
She reached into her memory — the ruins of their old world, the screams, the desperation.
And then, deeper still, to the secret whispered only to the royal family's inner circle:
"A human child born under the twin eclipses will have the blood to restore our realm."
Nina had never forgotten.
That child was somewhere on Earth.
If she wanted, she could find her. Take her. Use her.
Bring back their world. Reclaim the throne she once dreamed of.
But Nina stretched lazily, letting the cool night air wash over her.
The world was soft here. Full of pleasures.
And power... power could wait.
"One day," she murmured to herself, staring at the stars. "But not today."
Somewhere, not far from her, Jiho and Jungkook struggled to adjust — still clumsy, still awkward among humans.
But Nina?
Nina was already winning.
And she intended to keep it that way.
