But seeing him glaring, Yue also started to glare at him.
But his glare was no ordinary one—it was a death glare that sent a chill running down the knight's spine. Still, they didn't back away.
One of them was standing behind Yue. Since Yue wasn't paying attention to his back, that knight grabbed him from behind.
They both thought Yue was an Omega—even if he was from the beast clan, it's not like he had any powers to fight against two Alphas.
But their misunderstanding was cleared up in just five minutes, when they both found themselves on the ground with swollen faces, unable to walk.
And the only thing they were able to see through the pain was Yue—
Who was walking away from there.
As Yue walked away from there, he took the straight path leading to the imperial palace.
When he reached it, he used his usual habit of sneaking into enemy territory to kill them—that's what he used here too.
No guards spotted him, even when he walked inside.
"Host, what are you planning to do?"
"Let's just meet our enemy first. That would be alright," Yue answered.
Yue knew it was a risk coming here—who knew if he might run into the emperor or not? But still, he did. And just then, he heard—
"Your Majesty, I thought you would go to your newly wedded wife," the noble consort Xia said.
She had dark blonde hair that perfectly suited her yellow-toned skin, and she was so madly in love with Hao, the emperor, that she was ready to kill anyone without hesitation.
"No more talk about that matter," Hao said coldly.
They were both taking a walk in the rock garden, and Yue was hiding behind one of those rocks.
"Host, your hubby is here—at least glance at him."
"What the hell do you mean by hubby? I'm the hubby, and I want a wife."
Still, Yue peeked out from behind the rock slightly, and when he saw—
Black hair, red eyes, wearing a black hanfu that looked comfortable.
Then he glanced beside him—a woman was walking next to Hao.
Five minutes passed, and Yue was still looking at them.
Bunny chuckled at the sight.
"Host, don't tell me you already fell for your husband?"
Yue finally turned back, his cheeks totally red like a tomato.
"Ohhh, Host—do you like him that much?"
"What do you mean by him? She was very beautiful—especially her big chest. I want her. She is my wife, and in the future, she'll be the mother of my children."
Bunny was completely shocked after hearing that—Yue had fallen for the wrong target.
"Host, you're not a pervert," Bunny said—just then,
"WHO IS THERE?" Hao shouted in a sharp tone.
Hao had sensed the presence of someone behind the rock.
Yue knew there was no point in hiding anymore—he wouldn't gain anything from it.
So, he raised his hands and stepped out from behind the rock.
"Your Majesty,"
He was addressing Hao, but his entire attention was on the noble consort Xia.
[ "Shame-shame, Host! Why are you looking at your enemy like that? She was also part of the conspiracy that caused your death," Bunny whispered. ]
But Yue wasn't listening to Bunny at all.
The real problem now was Hao—because Yue had sneaked into the imperial palace, a place where only those personally allowed by Hao were permitted to enter.
Hao was also eyeing Yue from head to toe, slowly walking toward him. Yue knew exactly what was coming next—Hao was going to ask how he got in here… and who let him in.
"You…?" Hao said, his eyes narrowing.
He had never met Yue before—today was the first time he was seeing him.
But the wolf tail and those ears… they told him everything. Without even asking, he knew exactly who Yue was.
Yue gets on his knees and bowed.
"I present myself in front of the sun of this empire."
But even as Yue bowed, Hao didn't say a word to ease him. He simply stared at Yue.
And this kind of behavior—Yue couldn't tolerate it. His temper was rising with every second as he kept his gaze on the floor.
[ "Is this b*stard emperor seriously not going to say 'at ease'? Is he trying to get on my nerves?"
"Indeed, this kind of behavior—you're not going to tolerate it, right?"
"Of course I won't! How dare he?" ]
Just then, Xia stepped forward and hugged Hao's arm, smirking.
"Your Majesty, I'm tired. Should we go to our bedchamber early?"
Her eyes were simply looking down at Yue—after all, he was just a concubine, and she held a higher position than him.
That's why she believed she could do anything she wanted with Yue.
"At ease, and tell me what you're doing here," Hao ordered.
That command was a little unexpected—even for Xia. She hadn't thought Hao would say at ease.
Normally, anyone who dared to sneak into his rock garden ended up dead.
Many consorts and concubines had come here at night trying to seduce Hao during his walks—but in the end, not only had they failed, they had died for it.
Suddenly, Yue dropped to his knees in a second.
"Your Majesty, please forgive me! I didn't know you were taking a walk with my wife—I mean, with your wife."
[ "OMG, the show's about to start, and look at you, acting like a pro," Bunny muttered. ]
"But Your Majesty, I came here because my life was in danger. You must remember—our marriage was proof of the pact between our two clans. But your guards were ready to kill me! That's why I had to save myself and ran away… and I ended up here."
Yue was a great actor—thanks to all his previous missions, where flawless acting had helped him complete them.
Hao raised an eyebrow. "My guards tried to kill you?"
Yue nodded, wearing that beautiful and innocent expression.
He looked so genuinely vulnerable—and so cute—that even Hao's heart skipped a beat just looking at him.
