Chapter 30 - Victims of the Gods

The masked woman looked at Vincent's mangled face. No one could ever recognize that this…corpse was once a young boy named Vincent.

The corpse was looking up, one eye filled with blood as it started lifelessly at the blue sky above.

A pool of red blood was underneath Vincent, so much blood that it covered the horizontal length of the chain link he was on and spilled over the edges and into the void of the Sky below. The masked woman wouldn't acknowledge on the trails of guts spilling out like baby snakes escaping their nest.

The masked woman slowly put her palm on Vincent's shattered rib cage, sending a flow of essence in. She was an ascended and one adept at manipulating her essence, it was a simple task for her to pour her essence into the boy to find what she was looking for.

Eventually her essence reached Vincent's heart, bleeding and battered, yet still beating. She could also feel how the heart was already regenerating its missing pieces and clearing up the clogged arteries.

The masked woman stared at the scene her essence described to her, speechless.

'[Higher Healing Factor] was already this powerful…' A chill went down her spine.

She ignored the feeling and got up, blood sticking to her dark robes.

She looked to her left to see Ford and Lorelei fighting against the gigantic four armed man, both equally injured and bleeding. The four armed man was laughing, immersing himself in the ecstasy of the fight.

The masked woman opened her mouth underneath the mask which resembles a horrid demon.

"Orochi, he has his aspect legacy! We are to leave."

The giant man's smile faded and using two of his four arms, he grabbed two hands around the throats of Ford and Lorelei, suspending their air. They trashed around in his grip, their lungs praying for air, yet the giant man's grip didn't let them get relief.

"So soon, Blair?" The giant man, Orochi, responded. There was sadness in his voice.

Blair stared back at him, and the two pits of darkness where the eyes of the demon mask were, grew a little more deeper.

Orochi's demon mask didn't cover his mouth, so his frown was apparent. He looked back at Ford and Lorelei, who were both giving him a death glare despite suffocating in his grip.

"What of these two?" He asked Blair.

"They are of absolute unimportance in the original timeline. I don't see how far they would get in this one."

Blair took a pause. "The legacy girl of Valor, Lorelie, the Warden of Wyverns does have potential with her being the daughter of Madoc. This moment could serve as fire for her true potential to awaken. Throw her in the void, do what you will the other one."

Orochi smiled at Lorelei, whose expression turned to horror. "You were furious when I threw that mutt into the sky below. Why don't you meet your doggy in hell, then?"

Lorelei didn't scream when she fell, she simply disappeared in the darkness like she never existed in the first place.

Orochi looked over the edge of the chain link into the darkness where Lorelei disappeared into. He clicked his tongue, "Legacy till the end. All for an honorable death."

Orochi threw Ford away, he fell unconscious when his head hit the floor.

Orochi walked over to where Blair was standing next to Vincent on the last dregs of his life. Orochi didn't seem to find that his feet were in sticky blood.

Lorelei put a hand inside her robes and out an object that reflected the sun, sky, and the scene around her.

A small shard from a mirror.

"Why are you doing all this?"

Blair and Orochi looked to their left to see Eternity crawling on her stomach, there was a pained expression in her eyes and the place where Blair elbowed her was a blistering red.

"Who..Who are you?!" She roared at them, her expression turning ugly and full of hatred.

Blair studied her face with little regard for the small girl.

"The victims of the gods."
