Chapter 11 - Chapter 10: The Decision

Naruto's thoughts raced as he stood in the quiet of his apartment. The conversations of the past few days felt like a blur, yet the weight of each one remained etched in his mind. Each of the women in his life had expressed their feelings, their hopes, and their own uncertainties. They had each waited, patiently or not, for him to make a decision, to give them the clarity they deserved.

And now, standing in the midst of his confusion, Naruto felt the walls closing in. He had tried to avoid it, tried to hide behind his uncertainty, but the truth was inescapable. It wasn't just about choosing between them. It was about choosing what kind of person he wanted to be. What kind of life he wanted to lead.

His heart was pulled in so many directions, each one representing a different future, a different version of himself. He thought of Hinata, who had always been there for him with a quiet, unshakable support. She had been patient, gentle, and understanding, waiting for him to realize what she had always known. Then there was Suzuka, whose fiery spirit had ignited something deep inside him, someone who made him feel alive in a way he hadn't before. And finally, Sakura—strong, confident, and fiercely protective, the one who had challenged him, pushed him to become better, even when he hadn't wanted to face the truth.

Each of them had their own reasons for being in his life, their own unique qualities that had shaped him. But now, with the weight of his indecision bearing down on him, Naruto knew he had to make a choice.

The sound of the doorbell rang through the apartment, pulling Naruto from his thoughts. His heart skipped a beat. He wasn't ready. He wasn't prepared to face them, not yet. But he knew, deep down, that this moment had arrived whether he was ready or not.

With a deep breath, he made his way to the door. He opened it to find Hinata standing there, her eyes soft but filled with something more—hope, maybe? Or perhaps it was fear. He couldn't tell. The gentle warmth of her smile didn't reach her eyes the way it usually did. There was a sadness there, a quiet understanding that things were changing, and she was waiting for him to make his move.

"Naruto," she said softly, her voice trembling ever so slightly. "Can we talk?"

He nodded, stepping aside to let her in. The air between them was thick with unspoken words, and Naruto could feel the weight of it pressing in on him. They stood in silence for a moment, each unsure of how to begin.

Hinata was the first to speak. "I've been thinking a lot about everything, about us... and about what you said. I know you're confused, and I don't want to pressure you. But I need to know, Naruto. I need to know if there's a place for me in your future."

Naruto swallowed, feeling the tightness in his chest grow. His emotions were a whirlwind—confusion, fear, longing. He had always cared for Hinata, but now, in this moment, he realized how much he had been holding back. He wanted to tell her how much she meant to him, how much he admired her strength and kindness. But words felt insufficient.

"Hinata," he began, his voice quiet, "I care about you. I always have. But... I don't know if I'm ready for what you want from me. I'm scared of making the wrong choice, of hurting you."

Hinata's gaze softened, but there was a sadness in her eyes that cut through him. "I don't need you to be perfect, Naruto. I just need to know that you're willing to try. That you're willing to give us a chance."

Her words were simple, but they carried the weight of everything she had been holding in for so long. She wasn't asking for promises or grand gestures. She was asking for his honesty, for him to take a chance on something that might work. Something that could work.

Naruto closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. "I want to try, Hinata. I do. But I don't know if I can give you the answer you're looking for. Not yet."

Hinata nodded, her expression soft but resolute. "That's all I'm asking for, Naruto. Just... just don't let me go. Not yet."

The silence stretched between them, heavy and suffocating. Naruto could feel the tension building, could see the doubt in Hinata's eyes. But he also saw the flicker of hope, the faintest spark that told him she was willing to wait—if he was willing to choose.

Just as Naruto was about to say something, the doorbell rang again. He looked up, startled. This time, it was Sakura.

She stepped into the room without waiting for an invitation, her expression serious, but there was something in her eyes—a quiet determination that made Naruto's heart skip a beat. Sakura had never been one to hide her feelings, and today was no exception.

"Naruto," she said, her voice firm, "we need to talk. I can't keep waiting for you to figure things out. I've been patient, but it's time for you to make a decision."

Naruto's stomach twisted. He had expected this. He knew that Sakura was no longer going to sit back and wait for him to come to his senses. But the weight of her words hit him harder than he anticipated.

"I don't know what to do, Sakura," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know how to choose."

Sakura's gaze softened, but there was no mistaking the edge of frustration in her tone. "You don't have to have it all figured out, Naruto. But you can't keep dragging us along, pretending like you don't know what you want. We deserve more than that."

Hinata glanced between the two of them, her expression unreadable. Naruto could feel the tension in the air as the three of them stood there, each one waiting for him to take the next step.

"I care about you both," Naruto said, his voice thick with emotion. "I care about you, Sakura. You've been there for me in ways I can't even explain. And Hinata, you've always been there for me, with so much patience and love. But I don't know how to make this right. I don't know how to choose."

Sakura took a step closer, her eyes meeting his with an intensity that made his heart race. "The only way to make this right is by choosing, Naruto. You have to decide what you want. For yourself. For us."

There was a pause, and Naruto felt the weight of the moment pressing down on him. The choice, the decision—everything felt like it was happening all at once. He had no more time to waste. He had to decide what kind of person he wanted to be, and who he wanted to be with.

Hinata took a step forward, her hand reaching out to gently grasp his. "Naruto, you don't have to decide right now. Just... be honest with yourself. Don't hide anymore."

Naruto took a deep breath, his mind swirling. He had no answers, no perfect solution. But one thing was clear—he had to stop running.
