Chapter 49 - 49: Blackwater Company

"Sean, you mentioned that if I were to establish a private military company to hire veterans, what do you think?" Henry said slowly, smiling.

"Really?!" Sean Houston exclaimed, his excitement palpable. "Boss, many soldiers face difficulties finding jobs after they retire! Especially retired special forces like myself, who have grown accustomed to military life; aside from becoming security guards, it's tough to think of other options..."

Henry nodded and patted his shoulder. "Well, the opportunity is here. I'm planning to establish a militarized security company that will integrate security consulting, military training, contracting military operations, security services, and military logistics. I want to create one of the world's largest private military forces! For that reason, I plan to recruit a large number of veterans and police officers..." As he spoke, Henry's eyes gleamed with excitement!

Sean was stunned to hear Henry's words. He initially believed Henry was merely founding a standard security company. However, what Henry described was far from that—it was about creating a military organization capable of standing against the state!

Sean trembled with excitement, "Boss, can I join your new military company?!"

Henry chuckled, "Of course! You're the person I trust most in this domain. It wouldn't feel right not to have you on board!"

"Thank you, boss! I promise I won't disappoint your expectations!!!"

Henry smiled and nodded.

Then, Henry elaborated on his vision for establishing the military company. The first step was to purchase 10,000 acres of land in the Great Dismore Marsh, North Carolina, to serve as the company's headquarters and training base. He aimed to acquire a variety of complete special forces training facilities and weapons, then seek out special forces instructors from the military, offering them high salaries to serve as instructors at the Blackwater Training Base. At the same time, he would recruit veterans and police officers, before acquiring a building in Los Angeles to function as the company's official headquarters—essentially presenting an external face to provide various services.

Initially, the company might not be strong enough and would primarily offer security services or training. Once the military capabilities strengthened, they could undertake various military missions, including potentially deploying troops in Iraq!

Henry planned to invest $100 million in Blackwater Company. If additional funds were needed later, he was prepared to contribute more.

"Sean, I hope that soon the name Blackwater will instill fear in any enemy!!!" Henry's words carried an imperceptible dominion.

Sean Houston had always considered Henry a genius, but he was taken aback by the extent of his ambition!

With the weight of an impending storm, Sean stared at Henry's back, a sudden pressure welling up within him, making him shudder.

Henry was eager to see Blackwater Company established—he was practically impatient! The next day, he dispatched someone to investigate North Carolina. Knowing little about the Blackwater Company from his previous life, but aware that they selected the Great Dismore Marsh for their training base, Henry recognized this decision had been wisely made. History later proved it successful, so he had no hesitation incorporating his own company's headquarters and training base there!

Sean Houston's primary responsibility in the early phase was to help recruit personnel for Blackwater. Having served as a member of the elite U.S. Navy SEALs, he was relatively well-connected within military circles. With Henry's financial backing, seeking candidates wouldn't be a challenge. Why do Americans join the military? Primarily to earn money!

Do they genuinely think they are serving to protect their family and country? Very few people have such ideals, particularly during peacetime...

If the original Blackwater Company was founded in 1989, by August 1990 the United States would begin the Gulf War, providing a favorable climate for Blackwater's growth! The Blackwater of Henry's current life could prosper amid war, just as its predecessor did!

Thus, Henry knew it was crucial to fast-track the establishment of Blackwater Company!

Soon enough, he officially registered Blackwater with an initial capital of $100 million. From that moment, Blackwater Company was formally launched, creating a powerful and formidable firm, far exceeding the capabilities of a traditional security outfit. To ensure smooth development for Blackwater, Henry planned substantial political donations to Democratic parties led by Clinton! Furthermore, he readied to hire numerous key government officials as consultants for the company, including the head of the CIA's counter-terrorism team and the Pentagon's inspector general!

Having officials on his team made everything simpler!

If Blackwater struggled to grow, Henry wouldn't have anywhere to complain!

One month later, Henry secured 10,000 acres of land and filled it with countless training tools and resources. Sean Houston managed to recruit over two hundred retired soldiers for Henry, among whom more than forty were retired special forces personnel. Most notably, he unearthed Nelson Goss, an elite SEAL special forces instructor! Nelson was an exceptional commando trainer and had previously instructed Sean Houston as well! Under his guidance, he had trained thousands of SEAL special forces operatives. Sean admitted that had it not been for Nelson's retirement, he might have had to look elsewhere!

Henry welcomed Nelson Goss warmly, appointing him as the chief instructor at Blackwater. His position would place him directly beneath only Henry and Sean Houston!

As for persuading the U.S. government, Henry enjoyed that aspect the most!

What could possibly hinder sweetened promises? Henry simply wielded monetary influence, having easily secured the CIA's counter-terrorism team leader Sean Craig, the Pentagon's inspector general Caleb Ivan, and numerous other high-ranking officials to hold senior consultancy roles at Blackwater!

With their backing, Henry believed the path ahead would be smooth!

Once war broke out in the Gulf, Blackwater would seize the opportunity to capitalize!

Just imagining that in his previous life, Blackwater had two to three hundred thousand employees, wielding more arms than the standing American military, made Henry nearly salivate at the thought! On occasion, he indulged in fantasies of becoming a king in his own right!

With Blackwater's establishment, Henry mobilized the best security services for himself! His level of security paralleled that of the President of the United States! After all, they were all elite special forces—truly the crème de la crème!

With Henry's safety guaranteed, he could finally relax, turning his attention back to promoting the development of high-tech companies. He entrusted Sean Houston with the management of Blackwater, fully confident after their long tenure together regarding Sean's dedication and loyalty! Moreover, Blackwater remained a legitimate business, shielded by American law!

Even if Sean harbored ulterior motives, they would be pointless to act upon!

To ensure Sean's commitment to his work, Henry hoped that Blackwater would prosper and flourish in the future, affording Sean options and opportunities.

Henry also mulled over potentially acquiring an arms company—but thought it premature. He decided to focus on developing Blackwater Company first...
