PENELOPE'S POV
I stayed frozen, while shocking murmurs circulated me. Alpha Klaus, the ruthless Alpha of the Aurum Pack just said I'm his mate. How? What…? Where…? I can't think.
He stepped forward, flanked by two stoic muscular identical twin guards. He was dressed in black robes with gold trim at every end. His broad shoulders housed the all back outfit perfectly, while he stared with pairs of cold golden eyes that burned.
He is a Lethal beauty. But what a waste of beauty. A demon like him doesn't deserve to look this good.
Alpha Klaus looked into my eyes and said, "You are coming with me tonight." Now, I want to laugh. The kind of laughter that tickles you when a situation is so unbelievable that you just have no choice but to laugh. The laughter never came.
How the hell does someone as mighty and evil as he know of my useless, pathetic and empty existence?
Alpha Atlas stood in front of us before I could even speak. With respect, he said to Alpha Klaus, "Alpha Klaus, you must be mistaken." A short low giggle follows his words. "There is no way Penelope here is your mate, she's wolfless and has no.."
"I don't come here to seek for your opinion, Atlas. I have had my research done." What?
A feminine voice interfered, one that sounded far less intimidating now that I have a bigger issue to worry about. "My Alpha, Penelope does not befit your reputation. Even the Omegas rank above her. She's just a wolfless orphan. Don't you think there is a mistake somewhere?" Amira added her two cents while making sure her voice sounded as sultry as ever. A typical bitch, but like I said, she's far less of a worry at the moment.
The Alpha's gaze momentarily leaves me to scan around, then arrive back at me like he hadn't even heard Amira speak. "Take her," He said to his guards and a cold chill runs down my spine.
"No!" I exclaim, surprised at the tempo of my voice. Of course, there is nothing I want more than leaving this pack where I'm nothing but a common figure for everyone to joke about. But leaving with someone like Alpha Klaus? Talk about fleeing from fry pan to fire.
"You don't defy the Alpha, shut up!" Alpha Atlas cautions harshly but I don't look his way.
I don't know where I got my audacity from, but my lips started to run before I can stop them.
"I don't have a wolf, and I don't want you… Please, reject me, Alpha!"
That ought to solve it right? But just then, Alpha Klaus's eyes twinkle with an emotion I can't place, but it's gone as soon as it comes.
He didn't say another word as he stepped into me. My body trembled, and I waited for him to throw his claws in my throat and tear it out but it didn't happen. The terror I felt was surreal.
Fearing what his next action could be, I spun on my heel and started running out of the hall, but his hands caught onto me before I could even make it out. I looked up to see Alpha Klaus's twin guards holding my arms and drawing me back to their master.
"No, please let me go!" I start to cry. My eyes met with Amira's, Beta Kole, Alpha Atlas, and other members of the Moon-Crown pack, but none of them seem to care about what's happening.
"I guess Alpha Klaus just wants to use her as his whore," I heard someone murmur as I was being dragged out like a thief.
"I don't blame the Alpha, Penelope might be a useless wolf but her kind of sinful body isn't common around here."
"Her beauty would serve the Alpha well in his bed, I envy him for that." The voices finally faded as I got carried into the cold night air by one of the twins' guards. Alpha Klaus was nowhere to be found around me as I got shoved into a black car.
I gave up and sobbed silently as the car began to move.
*
The driver finally pulled up in front of a six story building with an all glass front. This place didn't look like a home. Why are we here? I thought silently.
"We are going inside. The Alpha is already in there." The twin told me as though he heard my question.
"What are we doing here?" I finally asked.
He doesn't reply to me, only gestures for me to move. As we get inside what seems like a hospital, my lashes battered at the luxury of the all-white large space with different sections.
My eyes caught a sliding light that glows "Alpha Klaus Private Care Home"
Alpha Klaus own this hospital?
The twin finally led me into a large room, and he backed out afterward, jolting me as he closed the door. Why would he leave me here without warning?
I finally turned to look around and I was completely shocked to see Alpha Klaus already seated beside a white bed, as if waiting for me.
"Why are we here?" I ask defiantly. If he thinks because he's been told I'm wolfless and he had seen me cry earlier, I would be submissive to him, he should think again.
Alpha Klaus' facial expression was indifferent as he looked at me as if he was bored. "Have a sit on the bed" He patted the single white bed that stood alone in the vast all-white room that looks like a laboratory where I'm the specimen for exploration. I stiffened.
"I…I don't understand. Why do I have to sit on a bed?" The door creaked open, announcing another presence. A beautiful smart looking woman in white coat, white gloves, with her blonde hair packed into a tight low bun, surfaced.
She bowed to the Alpha then looks at me. "This is her right?"
"Yes, start already." He replied curtly, and a cold chill ran down my spine.
Feeling terrified, I snapped my head towards him. "Don't talk as if I'm not here if whatever you are about to do has to do with me. I deserve to know what you are going to do to me" I blurt in frustration. Before I could comprehend what's happening, Alpha Klaus had his hand wrapped around my throat in a tight grip.
My fingers clutch on his grip that is choking me and have me lifted in the air for dear life.
"You don't talk unless spoken to. If you dare prove a point to me again, I will have you shredded in pieces and tossed to real wolves." He growled, saying all these to me while I was struggling to breathe in air.
If I was only scared of him before, I'm petrified now. "P…pl…please." I begged as I felt my life waning out of me. Just when I thought he was really going to kill me, he slammed me onto the bed and faced the doctor.
"Tie her up and let's start." I froze as
a new wave of deep-seated fear coursed through me, but I didn't dare move.
