"Can you repeat that?"
Peter looks at the being in front of him in confusion.
And it is a being because what is in front of him is a massive humanoid being made of light. There is no way the being in front of him is a human.
However, what confuses him is the request being made in front of him, asking him.
"I need you to save many of the fallen worlds."
That. That is what makes him confused. The being in front of him wants him to save fallen worlds, whatever that means. He is an ordinary person who was just killed by a burglar who decided to leave no witnesses and shoot him right in the head.
However, instead of entering heaven or hell, he arrived in this endless white place.
"Do you know the Dark Multiverse, Peter?"
"Like the one in the DC universe? The one that will eventually die because it is full of the fear of being in the Primary Multiverse?"
"That is the one. However, instead of the opposite of the Primary Universe, the Fallen Multiverses are full of people who fail their duty in defending their world. Think of it as Superman, who always saves the day and always wins. However, in the Fallen Multiverse, Superman fails to save the day, creating a crack in that reality that sooner or later breaks and destroys it."
"C-Can you make it even simpler? Try explaining it to a five-year-old."
"A world has a singular event that needs to happen. The Fate universe needs Shiro to be alive to witness the Fifth Holy Grail War. When that event does not happen, that world will be destroyed either by an outer threat or by an internal threat. In the end, it will be destroyed. The entire planet is gone."
"And you want me to prevent that from happening."
"No. I need your help in taking all the refugees from those fallen worlds."
Peter looks at the being in front of him in shock for a second before saying.
"And how do you want me to gather them all?"
"You shall join a company. This company dwells in capturing targets and selling them to other people."
"Slavery?"
"Yes. However, they are not really an evil organization. They are the lesser evil because that company helps many multiverses by sending their agents to help fix the problem or even help new Primordial Beings to recreate the multiverse."
"And how can this company help me?"
"Right. This company not only deals in selling and buying people, but it also deals with helping people in the multiverse. They have access to all kinds of power that lets them explore the blind eternities. You shall use their service."
"What do they get from this agreement?"
"You shall be their patron. That means, they will pay you points for anything you make using the gift I will give you."
"What kind of gift is that?"
"Do you know the Inspired Inventor Power, Peter?"
"The one from Worm CYOA?"
"That is the one. However, you will receive the original, most powerful version. With this power, you shall be the Patrons of the company and receive points for all the goods you create for them. They will come to you asking for items they want, and you shall make the item in exchange for points you can spend in their store."
"What kind of company is this?"
Peter thinks for a few seconds before something appears in his mind.
"Don't tell me… Is this Waifu Catalog?"
"Yes. That is the most famous front they have. However, that is the only thing. They have a lot of fronts with the same function."
"Right."
"I shall grant you ownership of one of the fallen planets. Heal that planet for me. I shall grant you a secret underground base full of things you need to start healing that planet. You shall have all the material you need in the vault to start. When they are gone, you need to gather more material yourself. You have thirty days to prepare. Don't disappoint me, Peter. I make a lot of investment in you."
"Wait! I have yet to accept this job!"
Peter screams but sadly for him, the being ignores his scream as his entire being is sucked into something that is invisible. The next thing he knows, he appears in the middle of a room made of white stone and something in his soul and mind.
What is that something? Peter takes a deep breath and closes his mind. He follows the new instinct given to him and sees within his soul and mind. He sees ten little suns circling a bigger sun. He knows what the massive sun is. It is his soul, and the ten suns circling his soul are the charges from his Inspired Investor power.
Each of them has a massive power. If he is in the Worm Universe, one of the charges gives him a massive Tinker power. What is a Tinker? Tinkers have the ability to fabricate alien or advanced technology. Not only that, all their tech also has a Blackbox ability that makes it so that other people cannot replicate what he is making, even when they follow them step by step.
However, that comes at a cost. You need to maintain your tech every so often.
Unless it is him, he can add one of the charges to let him create a long-lasting tech.
And speaking of tech, he looks around his new home and stands up from the ground. He has new knowledge from the Being that he shall call Rob from now on. It is the knowledge of where he is and what kind of thing is stored in his new base.
He is on Earth, one of the many Earths that fall because the Singular Event is not passing. Rob does not tell him what kind of event it is, but he tells him that this event does not happen, and as a result, Nuclear War happens, and the world is now experiencing a Nuclear Winter.
However, for whatever reason, the Nuclear Winter is worse than anyone thinks and calculates. Winter is colder than they predicted, and the radiation on the surface of Earth is worse than they thought.
Rob also does not tell him if there is still a survivor on this planet, but Peter knows that the chance is very low.
He needs to try to make the radiation disappear, immediately creating a new specialization for his Tinker power.
He creates a [Solarpunk] specialization that lets him clean the planet. It is a specialization that allows him to make the most environmentally friendly technology on the planet. The power of the sun and nature itself (like geothermal, wind, etc.) is up for grabs to save any, even the most infected and dirty, place on the planet.
This specialization is the perfect one for his situation.
However, he is not done. He added seven more charges to this specialization, leaving two more charges for him to use. After thinking for a few seconds, Peter decided to add the last two charges into the [Tools] specialization that led him to make Tinker Tools to create more Tinker Tech.
When he is done, he already knows what kind of thing he will make. With a deep breath, he walks to the vault to take all the material he needs.
