The door slammed shut behind Anthony, leaving Kara alone to weep on the floor. Their once inseparable bond had frayed, leaving only pain and regret. Anthony, her childhood friend and love, had become a source of hurt.
Flashback: Happier Times
Before the storms, Anthony and Kara were perfect together. On Lisa's birthday, they arrived at the venue, laughing and carefree.
"Come on, we're running late!" Anthony called out, his voice muffled from the bathroom.
"I'll be out in a minute, Kara, take a chill pill," he added, making Kara groan.
"You're so slow, even my grandma is faster than you," Kara teased.
Anthony emerged, grinning. "I know, I know, but I'm cuter."
Their banter was interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Anthony's ex, Celine, and Kara's ex-fiancé. The air was charged with tension as they approached, smug looks on their faces.
"Look who we have here! If it isn't the perfect duo, Anthony and Kara," Celine sneered.
Kara stood tall, her voice calm. "What do you want, Celine?"
Celine's smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. "Nothing, Kara. I want nothing," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She moved closer to Kara, her eyes locked on Anthony. "I just want what's mine. Give him back to me."
Kara's calm facade shattered. "Hoe dare you!" she exclaimed, shoving Celine away. A resounding slap followed, echoing through the venue. "Tell me why you want him back after dumping him for a supporting role in a movie that didn't go viral? You must be sick, Celine."
As Kara walked away, she didn't notice the anger simmering on Anthony's face. The storm between them was far from over.
