Chapter 60 - Southshore

After teleporting to the Tower of Thoradin, Galen had the team wait there while he went to find his father to inform him that he was going to Dalaran and to request a travel permit.

Upon learning that Galen was going to leave the country, accompanied by Archmage Gandalf, Thoras readily granted him permission to leave. At the same time, he asked Galen to visit Antonidas, the Archmage of the Kirin Tor, after arriving in Dalaran, to thank him for mediating the border conflict of the Stromgarde Kingdom some time ago.

Galen didn't refuse. He also wanted to meet Antonidas, the legendary archmage, known as one of the strongest human mages and the number one figure in Dalaran.

Gandalf teleported again.

When Galen opened his eyes again, he was greeted by a vast farm. Many farmers were busy working in the fields.

Gandalf stood beside him. He glanced behind him. The twenty-four guards and Varrokal were being teleported by Gandalf for the first time, and they were still rubbing their foreheads, trying to adapt to the dizziness caused by the group teleportation.

Galen could only say that you get used to being teleported. For example, himself, doing it once a day, he didn't feel uncomfortable at all, and even felt like he was speeding.

He continued to look around at the surrounding environment and found that behind the farms and manor buildings, in the gray sky, he could vaguely see a corner of the towering city wall. Unlike the gray-white city wall of Stromgarde, this was a dark-toned bluestone high wall.

The Wall of Thoradin!

Connecting to the Heart of Origin and looking at the system's strategic map, as expected, they were not far from the Wall of Thoradin. And the location they were in now was near the fief of Duke Nuvo, and those farms and manors were the property of the Fral family.

After resting for a while and letting the guards adapt, Galen asked Varrokal to inform the team to prepare to set off. Everyone was at least of intermediate strength, so their adaptability was still quite strong.

The group proceeded northwest along the Kingdom Avenue, passing through the Nuvo Farm in the middle. The eldest son of the Nuvo family, Fral's brother, received a report from the guards that a team was passing by. As a member of the Royalist family, he immediately recognized Galen's identity.

He wanted to invite His Highness the Prince to rest in the manor for a while, but Galen had just teleported over and had not traveled for a day, so he didn't need to rest. He declined his kindness and promised to visit him on the way back.

As the saying goes, 'Looking at a mountain makes a horse die running.' They saw the outline of the Wall of Thoradin from a distance, and the team rode their horses for nearly two hours before approaching it.

The Wall of Thoradin was built by the Arathor Empire in order to defend against the trolls in the northwest. It almost represented the glory of the Arathor Empire, and now it has been inherited by the Kingdom of Stromgarde.

Others might be amazed when they see the giant wall of Thoradin for the first time, but Galen was not too surprised, except for marveling at its height.

Continuing to approach the Wall of Thoradin along the Kingdom Avenue, at the end of the avenue was the main gate of the Wall of Thoradin. On both sides of the huge gate cave, there were two camps, which should be the regular army garrison of the kingdom.

The Scarlet Flame Legion had been established for three months, and Galen was considered a qualified general. Based on his experience during this period of study, the number of people in these two camps should add up to a legion.

"Your Highness, the soldiers guarding the city gate are from the First Legion."

Varrokal saw that His Highness was observing the camp and explained.

What is a confidant? This is it. The superior didn't ask, but he had already given the answer in advance, and he guessed right! Nibnob's path to becoming the number one lackey was long and arduous.

"Do you have any acquaintances?"

Because most of the soldiers in the regular army were selected from the militia, unless they had good strength, they would directly enter, so Galen asked this.

"I know a few people. If I'm lucky, I should be able to meet them."

"Let's go, get the warrant ready. If we meet them, we'll say hello, if not, we'll just go straight through."

After speaking, Galen urged the warhorse and accelerated forward.

A team of soldiers was standing guard at the city gate, questioning the passing caravans. Before approaching the checkpoint at the city gate, they slowed down their pace. In order to show respect for the border guards of the kingdom, they dismounted.

The lieutenant guarding the gate was really an old friend of Varrokal. They used to belong to the same team when they served in the militia.

Seeing that there were not many people leaving the country, Galen asked Varrokal to step forward and say hello to his old friend, and gave him Thoras' pass.

Without too much delay, Galen and his party passed through the magnificent Wall of Thoras and entered a new map, the Hillsbrad Foothills.

As soon as he entered the foothills, Galen felt a heat wave blowing over him. It was the end of August, the height of summer, but Galen felt that the temperature here was even hotter than in the Arathi Highlands.

Galen quietly used Gandalf's ability to condense a piece of ice and put it in his mouth. Gandalf sensed a slight magical fluctuation, turned his head and saw the prince chewing ice in his mouth, and rolled his eyes.

The Hillsbrad Foothills area was the land first reclaimed by the Arathor Empire after leaving the Arathi Highlands. The unique geographical location allowed the people on the hills to get rich returns from the land, and they could also be self-sufficient and live well.

The dozen or so kilometers outside the Wall of Thoradin belonged to Stromgarde, but because it was outside the high wall, it was not well developed. The farmers and herders on the highlands were also unwilling to leave the high wall to reclaim the disputed land.

So when Galen first entered Hillsbrad, all he saw were green hills on both sides of the road. It was not until he reached the territory of a castle in the eastern part of the foothills, Durnholde Keep, that he began to see people busy in the farms and pastures on the road ahead.

Like the Arathi Highlands, this land has the Alterac Mountains as its border in the north. The high mountains also block the cold currents from the north. The south is close to the ocean, and abundant rainfall has created many lands suitable for cultivation.

In the middle of the foothills, there is a river called the Southshore River. This river starts from the mountains in the south of Quel'Thalas, passes through Lake Darrowmere, cuts off the continuous Alterac Mountains, and then runs through the entire Hillsbrad Foothills, eventually flowing into the Bay of Baradin in the south.

Galen remembered that the future paladin, the first generation of paladins, Uther, lived in seclusion near the Southshore Falls, at the northern end of this river, after being stripped of the Holy Light.

And Galen's first destination on this trip was Southshore, located at the southernmost estuary of the Southshore River.

On the third day after passing Durnholde Keep, they saw a wide river. On both sides of the river, many sea turtles were crawling on the river bank.

Such a familiar feeling. In his previous life, Galen had caught turtles here as pets, and had also been chased by the Hillsbrad black bears here.

Along the way, the raging owl beasts, wild horses, spiders, giant turtles, and black bears, each wild creature carried Galen's memories.

Of course, the line from Hillsbrad Foothills to Arathi was also filled with the tombstones of Galen's game characters. It was simply a field of slaughter for the Alliance and Horde.

Along the way, they stopped and went, admiring the pastoral scenery of Hillsbrad and the original ecological scenery, and opened the system's strategic map by the way.

Finally, on the tenth day, the group arrived at their first destination.

Southshore, known as one of the most beautiful towns in Azeroth.
