Chapter 2 - Zarains

"Wait….. I was just doing a prank", Shapra mumbled. He was not expecting anything but something is sure to happen. "Shapra I know you are not hoping and wanted a normal life but I guess it is time for you to learn everything." Shradha said.

"I guess you should tell him everything, Siddarth!.", Shradha suggested. "Ok I will",Siddarth said. His father's expression grew serious. "Shapra, I will tell you everything, but you must promise me one thing. You cannot tell anyone about this."

Shapra nodded eagerly, the thrill of secrecy fueling his excitement. "Okay, Dad."

"And one more thing, you must not act carelessly or make rash decisions regarding this."

"Alright, alright, just tell me already!" Shapra urged.

Taking a deep breath, Siddarth began the tale. "Five hundred years ago, even though Rakxas existed, Nepal remained a peaceful country. This was due to the Zarians, a group of people capable of awakening their inner power. Unlike normal humans, they possessed immense physical strength and the ability to harness 'Urja'."

And Rakxas were devil-like creatures who blend in with humans, though their sharp canine teeth give them away. Some high-ranking Rakxas also possess tails, with silver piercings at the tips, adding a chilling touch to their appearance. They wear distinctive silver earrings, which give them an intimidating and distinct aura. Despite their human-like features, their presence is unsettling. These devils are feared and respected for their strength, making them a dangerous force to reckon.

Urja, Siddarth explained, was a form of energy or spirit found in every human being for some unknown reasons. However, only those from the Zarian Clan could awaken it, as their bodies were naturally stronger. This energy granted them control over elemental powers like metal, wind, grass, earth, water, ice, snow, lava, fire, and more. Among these, five were considered the most powerful and god-gifted—Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Lightning, "The Elemental Mudras".

"And this photo," Siddarth pointed to the background of the image, "behind your mother and me, you can see a portal. That portal is called Asuravarna. It bears five symbols: a water droplet, a flame, a wind swirl, a rock, and a lightning. Let me tell you how it came to be."

A hundred years ago, Zarians and Rakxas coexisted peacefully. But with the rise of a new Rakxas king 'Asura', everything changed. His eyes were cold and full of danger. He carries himself with a sense of authority that commands fear and respect. Asur is known for his strength and cunning, making him a terrifying figure to both humans and demons. His eyes are cold and full of danger. He carries himself with a sense of authority that commands fear and respect. Asura is known for his strength and cunning, making him a terrifying figure to both humans and demons. His first act was to launch a brutal surprise attack on the Zarians.

The Rakxas were formidable. They possessed nearly all the abilities of the Zarians, with one exception-the Space Mudra. It was the power of the clan leader that time, which was never seen before. It wielded space power so it was called space mudra. However, the Zarians held one advantage-their khukuri, a traditional Nepali sword. By channeling their Urja through it, they could amplify their power by 39%, making them nearly invincible.

At the time of the attack, the Zarians were led by Satyam, who was a strong, muscular man with brown hair and sharp black eyes. His quiet nature and battle scars make him seem mysterious, hiding the true extent of his power. He was an exceptionally powerful warrior who possessed the rare Space Mudra which was never seen before, allowing him to travel across planets. But when the attack occurred, he was away, searching for medicinal herbs that did not exist on Earth. In his absence, the Rakxas slaughtered the Zarians mercilessly. Some managed to escape, while others sacrificed themselves to protect their children. Among the survivors was Siddarth's father.

When Satyam returned and witnessed the devastation, he was filled with uncontainable rage. He resolved to put an end to the Rakxas and their king, Asur. However, he knew that if he fought Asur on Earth, their battle would destroy the planet. To prevent this, he devised a plan.

Satyam created a portal leading to another world—one 39 times larger than Earth—where they could battle without harming their homeland. Luring Asur into this world, they fought for an entire day and fifteen hours.

Though neither emerged as the ultimate victor, Satyam knew he couldn't let Asura escape. Severely weakened, he used the last of his strength to seal Asura and 90% of the Rakxas army on one side of this world. Then, he transferred his remaining power into his khukuri and left it on the opposite side of the realm.

Upon his return to Earth, Satyam was too weak to destroy the portal. Instead, he placed five elemental locks on it and scattered the keys across Nepal, ensuring that the Rakxas would never revive their king. Since then, those aware of the portal, the Rakxas, and Satyam's legendary khukuri have been searching for the keys. That khukuri still holds immense power, greater than any weapon from past or present—except those from the Satyug era. People now call that khukuri "Viperstrike".

Many have entered the portal in search of Viperstrike, but none have ever found a clue to its whereabouts.

Shapra was stunned. "This is… unbelievable."

"This isn't just a story, Shapra. It's real," Siddarth said. "My father and mother were true Zarians. They survived the attack."

"Wait… that means Grandpa and Grandma were Zarians?"

"Yes."

Shapra's mind reeled. "Oh!! But you mentioned that some people have entered the portal. How did they get inside?"

"To enter, they must first find all five keys. Once the keys are inserted into the portal, the person who places the final key must say a number. That number determines how many people can enter. Once the chosen individuals step inside, the portal closes, and the keys are once again scattered across Nepal."

Shapra's eyes widened. "So, you and Mom have this photo… does that mean you both went to the portal too?!"

"Yes, we did. But we couldn't find all the keys, so we never actually made it through."

"Whoa! But you're a Zarian, right? That means you must have incredible powers! What was it called again? Mudra?"

"Yes, I have the Earth Mudra."

"Do I have powers too?! I want to search for the keys and find Viperstrike"

Siddarth's expression darkened. "No, you don't have any powers. Your mother isn't a Zarian, so you didn't inherit the abilities. Now, get ready for school—you're running late."

Disappointed, Shapra sighed and left to prepare for school.

As he disappeared into his room, Shradha turned to Siddarth. "Why didn't you tell him the truth…?"
