Chapter 2 - Chapter 01 : The War Before Peace

2000 years earlier...

The armies of the greats were fighting against the dark army known as the Army of Deaths, led by the most powerful among them—

The Dark Shadow. No one knew his real name.

He sought to regain his true human form in order to conquer the world and turn it into an abyss of endless pain and death.

His ultimate goal was to kill every last human on this planet and rule the world...

Until he appeared—a knight with a glowing blade.

His face hidden beneath a helmet, only his glowing blue eyes visible.

He pointed his blade toward the army and stomped it on the ground.

The burning flames from his sword incinerated the soldiers of the Army of Death in an instant.

His name was Norm...

The Dark Shadow, enraged, appeared on the battlefield for the first time—to fight and kill the knight named Norm.

"You have shown yourself, Shadow," Norm said in a deep voice, thrusting forward to kill him.

"Indeed, I have. You can't stop me. Once I kill you, I'll move on and regain my true human form. Then we'll see how you stop me. I will kill your children, your generations will be my slaves, and I'll make them suffer the unimaginable," said the Dark Shadow with a dark voice and powerful aura.

---

Meanwhile...

"Kill them all. We want every soldier dead, okay?!" shouted Thoms.

"Where is Norm?" he asked again.

"He has killed half the soldiers in one blow just by unleashing his blade. Now, he fights the Dark Shadow, aiming to erase him forever."

---

Before the War...

Norm and Thoms were sitting around a campfire.

"Norm, how do you plan to kill the Shadow Master?" asked Thoms.

"I will do it by myself. I don't want anyone to die if I can defeat him," replied Norm in a deep voice.

"I want you to take your army and kill the remaining soldiers," Norm added.

"I will... but remember, even if you defeat him, he will find a way to survive. That's for sure," said Thoms.

"If only he regains his true human form, we'll be able to kill him for good," Thoms continued.

"Even if we kill him when he regains his form... what about the kids, the women, the innocent who don't even know the meaning of war? They were killed mercilessly. I know he'll return, but I'm sure someone will rise to stop him again," said Norm.

"Yes, you're right. But sacrifices are required to make stronger choices—to become stronger, braver," said Thoms.

"Sacrifices are made for a reason, not for success or freedom," Norm responded firmly.

"How do you plan to live your life after the war, Norm?" asked Thoms.

"I will retire and create a place where people can avoid war—a place where peace and freedom exist. A place beyond the mountains. A peaceful place for future generations," said Norm.

"I never thought you'd say that. But you can't avoid war, Norm. A peaceful place can exist, but not freedom. In this world, killing mercilessly, endlessly, has been a devastating chain for millions of years…"

As Thoms spoke, Norm stood up, deep in thought.

"I will create a place where both peace and freedom exist—for my people, and for my family..."

---

Back to the War...

"He has defeated half. Now we'll defeat the rest! Your lives, your beliefs—show them the true fear of Thoms' power! Now, kill the remaining soldiers! I will go to Norm," commanded Thoms.

"I heard they call you the Knight of Death... and your blade, the Death Blade. Quite a menacing energy it emits," said the Shadow Master.

"The blade wants to kill you. That's why it emits that energy. Now, I will send you to sleep," said Norm with a raging voice.

Their blades clashed. Norm's blade penetrated the Shadow Master's weapon, weakening him with every strike.

The Shadow collapsed, helpless. He saw true fear in the form of Norm, standing above him with a burning blue flame sword and death-glowing eyes. He knew death awaited him.

"I will kill every last one of you. My time will come. When I regain my true form, no one in this world will even touch me…" the Shadow Master hissed.

As he spoke, Norm's blade emitted a light so bright that it incinerated the Shadow Master—and the sun burst through the sky.

"I will send someone to take care of you," said Norm.

Just then, Thoms arrived on horseback. Seeing Norm, he smiled.

"At least wait for me—I wanted to see your battle," Thoms said.

In Norm's mind, amidst thunder and rain, he looked at the field littered with corpses. He thought, this could've ended better if I had come alone...

"Will you help take care of the others?" asked Thoms.

"I think you're strong enough to finish them off. I can count on you," Norm replied.

Norm whistled. His horse appeared. He mounted it and left the battlefield.

"I hope we meet again, Norm…"

With those words, Thoms led his army to victory and returned to their homeland—The Kingdom of Thoms, named after him.

Norm rode toward the mountainous region known as the Mountains of Heaven. There, surrounded by bright sunlight and the lovely scent of flowers, he found the land where he would live peacefully with his people.

He named it: The Norm's Valley,

behind the Mountains of Heaven...

A beautiful place lies with the sea,
