"Oh it was strange my lord, I identified some unknown movement and so I checked for. It was his messanger. I defeated him my lord, how dare he enter your honour's territory. He is looking for a war." Kai said, his eyes inflicting rage with every line.
"He? Who are you talking about Kai?" Kenji asked.
"I am referring to the 'Shadow of Shooting Stars' , the 'Carrier of Darkness' my lord."
"And who is this? I have been missing a lot of information since I was banished. A lot must have happened by the time. Is it our foe?"
"My lord, he is a demon king, the most dreadful of all. Even his own beings fear him. He ascended recently and wreaked havoc upon the realm. We believe it is only you who can defeat him. It is as if he is asking for war through his actions. He challenged Superior Gaurdian for a war with her best warrior. The demon realm has mostly been aloof when it comes to heavenly realm but ever since this demon has ascended everything has turned upside down. His creations are horrendous my lord."
"What did Superior Gaurdian say?" Kenji asked.
"She was waiting for your re-mount my lord. She believes you are her best warrior and there is no doubt in it." Kai answered.
"She said that?" Kenji asked,his eyes reflecting his disbelief.
"Yes my lord. Indeed superior gaurdian is ruling that throne for a reason. She has a keen eye, she did not lie when she called you her best warrior." Kai said, pride filling his chest with each sentence.
Indeed Superior Gaurdian was right. Everyone knew that even if the whole heavens turned against Kenji Huang, he would still defeat them. Kenji was undefeated. His creations were the most unique and powerful.
This is why all gaurdian's despite hating him wanted him to stay in the realm, because if he would turn against the realm, the realm would no longer exist as superior gaurdian was too soft hearted towards Kenji, treating him like her own son. Banishing him seemed almost impossible to Superior Gaurdian but she had to, rules are rules afterall.
"Kai, inform all the gods to assemble in the main and then meet me afterwards." Kenji ordered.
"Yes, my lord!"
The gods and their subordinates were in shock after they heard the news of Lord Kenji reclaiming his territory. Many were happy,many excited to meet him and many burning with passion to work alongside Gaurdian Lord Kenji,while many were burning with hatred too.
"Lord Kenji is back?"
"Yes the superior gaurdian held the assembly for lord Kenji."
"The rumour was true afterall."
"Wasn't he supposed to remount tomorrow?"
"He had recieved an emergency scroll from superior gaurdian to remount earlier on grounds of keeping his pious nature intact and the realm in need of his warrior strength."
"Is it about the 'Carrier of Darkness'?"
"Ofcourse it is."
"He had openly challenged Superior Gaurdian."
"The audacity to do that!"
The palace shone brightly,like a magnificent galaxy. The gods and their subordinates,each one present with a bouquet in their hand. They held the bouquets of mysterious looking flowers, 'Looming Flowers'.
These flowers were the creation of Lord Kenji.
When Lord Kenji mounted on as a gaurdian, he was sixteen years old, the youngest to mount as a gaurdian.
His energy was extremely heavy,suffocating and mysterious, it seemed more like a demonic energy rather than a heavenly one.
His lower face covered with a veil, his gloomy sharp eyes, his skills and energy, everything seemed demonic to most of the members of heavenly realm. Everyone treated him like an outcast,murmuring criticism towards him.
His mount to the heavenly realm as a gaurdian,not even a god at first but a gaurdian, and that too at such a young age was seemed as unfair to the other gaurdians.
Only god's would mount as gaurdian's once they've reached to such superior level of cultivation but the mount of Kenji— a half human mounted as a gaurdian directly, was considered unfair by other members.
These "Looming Flowers" were Kenji's very first creation.
He was practising swordsmanship, his slender hands swiftly moved and the blade, glinting like death dressed in silver. Suddenly, his hands paused.
What could have happened that the "Sinister Fall's" hands stopped mid practise?
It was a call that made him stop abruptly, a voice which carried the same agony that he felt some years ago. It was indeed, the call from a mortal, a human, it was a plea,a cry, how could he stop himself from answering this voice?
He clearly remembered reading in the scroll that 'lesser mortals are aware about gaurdians, on hearing a mortal, gaurdians are to ignore them, answering to them in any way can lead to banishment for three hundred years on the ground of breaching the heavenly rules. Gaurdians are not to answer to any mortal's prayer and the mortals too are not to pray to any gaurdian, if they did,they will face strict consequences.'
"Is this mortal really praying to a gaurdian—me after knowing that doing so has heavy consequences?" Kenji thought.
"A gaurdian helping a mortal leads to retribution….." thought kenji.
Those pleas filled with agony,the painful cries,reminded him of something….something that he wanted to forget. Afterall, he was well acquainted with these pleas,these cries, because he was the one howling,screaming and crying like this some years ago.
When Kenji was born, his father faced a heavy downfall in his territory,Huang Kingdom lost the battle to the demonic territory of the west and lost their west territory for the first time after Kenji was born. The gaurdian's were in shock, this was the first time that Huang Kingdom lost a battle. It was rare for heavenly realm to lose a battle.
Soon the kingdom and other gaurdian's recovered from the shock and the Huang Kingdom started preparing for a war to reclaim their west territory.
This was the first destruction which took place due to Kenji's fate, but no one related this incident to Kenji. No one would dare and to the Huang Gaurdian,the thought of this misfortune taking place due to Kenji never crossed their mind.
