Chapter 2 - The struggle continues

Alexander trudged through the streets, his stomach growling with hunger. He needed to find a place to sleep for the night and something to eat. His thoughts drifted to the local shop where he usually did menial jobs in exchange for food and a meager pay. The shop owner was notorious for being stingy, but Alexander had no other options.

As he entered the shop, he noticed the owner engaged in a heated argument with someone. Alexander ignored the commotion and began working, hoping to earn his pay for the day. After some time, the argument seemed to have ended, and the shop owner turned his attention to Alexander.

"What are you doing here?" the shop owner growled, his expression unwelcoming.

Alexander looked up, thinking the question was rhetorical, but replied nonetheless, "I'm working."

The shop owner's response was swift and merciless. "Get out of my shop! You're no longer welcomed here."

Alexander's eyes widened in surprise. "Why? What did I do?"

The shop owner's expression turned cold. "You came late. Now leave."

Alexander felt a surge of frustration but knew arguing would be futile. "What about yesterday's pay?" he asked, trying to remain calm. "You promised to pay me today."

The shop owner's response was a cold, hard stare. "I don't have money. Now get out!"

Alexander's hopes were crushed. He turned to leave, but not before the shop owner threw him out of the store. As he walked back into the street, Alexander couldn't help but wonder what kind of life this was.

The weather was growing colder, and dark clouds loomed overhead. Alexander quickened his pace, searching for a place to stay before the storm hit. As he walked, he noticed strange occurrences happening around the world – portals opening in various locations.

Alexander's thoughts turned darker. "I thought I was going to die of hunger, but it seems something else is going to kill me. Why was I born into this world just to suffer? Is that my only purpose?"

Suddenly, a blue lightning bolt struck him. But instead of electrocution, a strange voice spoke to him.

"Found host compatibility: 100%. Now merging with the host. Process completed. The Telos System has been merged successfully with the host."

Alexander's world was about to change forever.
