ANXIOUS
"Eve dear be fast or we're gonna be late"
'Forty two year old Stanley said to his niece as he gazed at his wrist watch the third time in less than a minute'
"Coming uncle give me a sec" . Evelyna known as Eve for short responded from where she was. She immediately ran down stairs with her trolly in her hands
'She smiled so innocently at her uncle. The kind that would make anyone love her features immediately'. She breathed heavily as she just finished packing her trolly in her uncle's car boot.
She got inside the car and waited for her uncle to arrive. She just can't help but feel anxious as she was leaving the only family she knew to somewhere she has never been to but heard of people talking favourably about it.
"Nervous?" Her uncle who just got into the car asked. "A little bit, Uncle" she said with a smug on her shoulders ."I bet I just have to go and also wish this would be better than the last one". She sighed
'Uncle Stanley made her to turn towards his direction and held her hands softly. He squeezed her hands not too tight but the one to bring her attention back to where she was,"Eve," he stared into her eyes" it's gonna be ok, believe me when I say so. Your Aunt knows what's best for you that's why I supported her decision on you going to the university. So shake it off and focus on the big task ahead".
She softly nodded and sighed again.
The journey all along was silent except from the stares and smiles they shared
When they arrived at a distance where she can see the schools large black Gate,she just couldn't help it but turn on the already beating music. The temperature around her droped as the gate man opened the gates for them.
She saw the heights of the buildings and gulped down. It is a very gigantic one indeed. "Wow" was what left her lips
Her uncle assisted her in bringing down her luggages from the car.
"Eve, please do take care of yourself. Do not skip any of your medications in a day. Take your study seriously and be vi...."
"Uncle I understand. I won't forget any of these things. I want you to take care of yourself too and Jonas including Auntie Martha". She hugged her uncle so tightly wishing he'd never leave.
'She noticed a tear slip out of her uncle's eye'"Am gonna miss you Uncle Stan"
"Me too Angel. I'll take my leave now. Bye sweetie" . "Bye Uncle" Eve waved back at her uncle. She stood there and watched her uncle leave.
She remembered what she came for and immediately made her way towards the principal's office. She knocked on the dark brown wooden door and heard a voice ushering her to come in
"Good Afternoon" Eve greeted a brunette woman with her round big spectacles on the bridge of her nose.
"Afternoon, you must be the ..." The woman stoped midway asif reminiscing what she's about to say
"Evelyna Summers" Eve introduced herself. "Yes,now I remembered your name." The principal responded. "I'm Miss Ivana. Welcome to Brooklyn brick's Academy. I can assure you what happened to you in your previously school won't happen."
"Thanks Mam" Eve noticed the principal adjust her glasses once more.
"These are the set of rules that guides each and every student here and our school holds no tolerance to any student who is found guilty."
Ms Ivana handed the papers which contains the set of the rules to Eve. "And lastly, your dorm keys, enjoy the rest of your days here". She nodded at Evelyna
Eve did the same and left, dragging her trolley with her which always makes a sound. The principal as scrunched her nose in distaste towards the trolley but watched as Eve made her way to the exist door.
