Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE

In this world, we can't even trust our own blood—our relatives or even our partners. It's even harder with a partner.

My father always told me, "Never trust anyone, not even me. The only person who will never betray you is yourself. So always trust yourself. It doesn't matter if they are your siblings, parents, or family—don't trust anyone."

He says this because of his own experiences. When he was just 5 years old, my grandfather betrayed him. He took all my grandmother's money and ran away with another woman. My grandmother raised my father alone. It's a really sad story. My father hated his dad and didn't want to get married either. But my grandmother forced him to marry my mother.

Later, my mom left my dad. And yes, she had a reason—my dad had an affair with another woman. So, she left him, which is fair. But then she remarried a rich guy (not richer than my dad, but still rich) and never came back to see me. She left my dad... and me too.

And after that, his best friend betrayed him. His name was Baku—my dad's right-hand man. Yeah, he trusted Baku even more than he trusted me. But one day, he saw Baku's true face.

Baku was actually spying for another mafia gang. He leaked our secret information—Paradise Secrets—to a gang called Youthful. That gang was new at the time, but very powerful. In just a few years, they became our biggest competition. Even our loyal clients started going to them—for deals, drugs, and connections.

My dad started feeling something was wrong. He was stressed, always overthinking. Then he finally found out what Baku was doing—betraying us from the inside. So... my dad shot him. Twenty bullets straight into his body. And I—Kira, just an 11-year-old boy—watched it all happen right in front of me.

Sometimes, I wonder about this place we call Paradise... a world where people spill blood every day—killing for money or just for fun. Whenever I look at my dad's face while he kills someone… I see peace in his eyes. A strange kind of superiority.

I've watched the way he kills—brutally, like a man who lives without a heart.

My dad never spoke to me with kindness. I used to feel jealous of other kids. That's why my childhood was never normal... and that's how I ended up like this.

I don't even know when it started—this feeling. When I began to enjoy killing people. But I do. I enjoy watching their last breath... feeling their warm bodies slowly turn cold. I enjoy the way their mouths freeze open… and their bodies stop moving. All their organs shut down—and then, there's only silence left.

I stood at the edge of the rooftop, staring out over the city. From here, I could see everything—every street, every corner. This city... it belongs to me. I'm the king here. This is my kingdom.

"It's Mumbai, meri jaan," I muttered, laughing softly—but the laugh was dark… almost creepy. The sunset painted the sky orange, and down below, cars and buses rushed like blood in veins. There's something about this city—it feels like a part of me.

"Don't you think so, Raju?" I asked my bodyguard, who's been with me for over 20 years. I trust him… but not more than I trust myself. Because in this world, you never know who'll betray you.

"Yes, boss," he replied, keeping his head low. That's the rule. No one dares raise their head in front of me.

I sat in my private cabin—a secret one. From the outside, it looks like a normal apartment, just like all the others around it. Families live here. People work here. They know who I am, and they work for me. But we all pretend to be normal—just regular tenants.

My apartment may look simple from the outside, but inside... it's pure luxury. Every corner screams power and wealth. It's like a hidden heaven.

There's even a secret elevator inside. With just one button, I can go straight down to the parking area, get in my car, and leave whenever I want.

My days are always full—meetings with top politicians, MPs, big names. As a mafia boss, connections are everything. I know their smiles are fake, sugar-coated. Deep down, they all hate me. And if they ever get the chance... they won't hesitate to kill me.
