"Omg guys, I was on tiktok yesterday and I found out that this
man...um...um...Nelson Mandela died and.....", spoke Daisy in a hurry after
she looked at a crumpled piece of paper just to remember the hero's name
before she was cut short by Ayaan, the smartest student in class,"you
Bimbo ...., history has it that our beloved hero Nelson Mandela was born on
the 10th July, 1918 and died on the 5th December....2013....." she let it sink
in and then she continued, "that means he died about...what...eleven years
ago?", and then she slowly turned back to look at who had said the last part
with her. Surprisingly it was a new face. "Yes and who are you....or let me
rephrase my question, who do you think you are?....don't you know you
shouldn't meddle in other people's business like that especially if you're
new?", said Ayaan to the person with a new face who seemed to be a
threat to her reign as the smartest student in her class . "You're one to talk" she replied and turned to her bag to look for what wasn't missing. Ayaan
didn't reply, she couldn't ....she knew better. Daisy butt back in "like I was
saying guys as far as I'm concerned um ...neck... Nem...that man died
yesterday, yes I have the final say and also...." She kept on talking about
the videos she watched on tiktok from very late yesterday's night till very
early this morning until someone picked a crumpled piece of paper on the
floor beside her before the person said to her, "since you just looove
speaking, why don't you tell us about what you scored in your maths test
yesterday", Daisy was about to reply when she looked up and almost
gasped, it was the person she liked most in the class. She almost screamed
and ran out of the class but she kept her cool or shall I say maintained her
steeze. She just went into her head and was dull for the rest of the day. " Micheal, you know that some people were actually entertained by what she 10 -
was saying and since you made her stop, you should continue the talk", retorted Junior trying to defend Daisy. "Everyone's invited to my church on
Sunday",shouted Grace from the corner of the class, distracting everyone
from what they were doing after which she shared a Bible passage with
them, " Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God
and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other
things, Matthew 6:33", she then shared the name of her church and the
address. The class was quiet when the teacher stepped in. Everyone was
pondering the message including Aisha. She had heard about church
before also from Grace usually she discarded such talk but then today was
different, she felt the word was for her. She decided that she was going to
try attending church. "Welcome to another history class, Students.... this week we'll be
looking into some parts of Nigeria,... I've picked what we'll do in today's
class but at the end of this class, I'll let you guys pick what part of Nigeria
we'll discuss in our next class this week....but first...but first.... quiet down
class ", shouted miss Buhle to the whole class as the were already
discussing amongst themselves what they would talk about in their next
class but they kept quiet when Miss. Buhle told them to. "We have a new
student class....yes stand up girl and introduce your self to the class", Miss. Buhle was referring to the girl with the new face at the back of the class. She introduced herself as Amandia and explained that her pa got a
promotion in another branch and so they had to move her to this school, she was welcomed and she joined the class.
It was lunch time and Aisha was usually alone but strangely today
someone tapped her on her shoulder lightly and said a shy,"hi..." She
paused and waited for Aisha to look up at her before she continued
speaking, "I'm the new student, Amandia .....I would love to go to lunch with 11 -
you if you don't mind", Aisha wanted to decline rudely instead of giving her
an excuse that would drive her away temporarily but on second thought
she agreed to go to lunch with Amandia." Oh yeah, you just moved here ..... See usually I don't have lunch with people in school but....sure let's go", replied Aisha after which both of them walked into the cafeteria hand in
hand gisting about God knows what and giggling loudly. Ayaan was
watching quietly as usual from one part of the cafeteria. She didn't think
she liked that relationship so she made up her mind to destroy it. "Hi girls... Hi Amanda, can I join you guys for lunch?", said Ayaan after
she walked over to their table, a fake smile plastered across her face. Amanda and Aisha stared at each other in shock thinking about what had
happened earlier today but only Amandia had the courage to speak up and
tell her a big, fat "No, you cannot, we don't let your kind of people sit with
us". "And what exactly is my kind of people, idiot", Ayaan replied sharply. "I
don't know, what exactly is your kind of people?", replied Amandia with an
evil smile plastered across her face. The summary of this scene is that they
got into a physical fight and nobody knows who hot who first. Aisha got
implicated by association when they got in trouble for fighting even though
she didn't get involved in the fight with them and she also got a little bit
injured. Ayaan with her big sharp mouth kept saying,"ma'am, they started it.... No Amandia started, you know maybe she fights alot and maybe that's the
real reason she transferred to our school in the middle of the term, just
take a look at my bruises ma'am", she pointed at the bruises which were
barely visible. "Well young ladies what do you have to say for yourselves?, huh...speak up", the principal finally spoke as she turned to look at both
Amandia and Aisha. They were speechless but Aisha took the blame, she
said, "I started the fight but she...I mean Ayaan came to our table to look for
trouble first, I'm sorry maam it won't happen again if you let us go with just
a warning",both Ayaan and Amandia were shocked, Ayaan kept trying to
convince the principal that the story wasn't true and the principal kept
