Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Trick Flanders

It was a rather dilapidated shop.

On the sign outside the door was engraved a circular mark with several special symbols: the Seven Kill Sword, the Haotian Hammer, and a Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon, intertwined to form a pattern.

Just by walking up to it,

Ye Qiu's Purple Demon Eyes could sense some soul power fluctuations emanating from within.

These were coming from the soul tools inside.

"Ye Qiu, what are you doing here?"

A Yin seemed to have forgotten what had happened before, and looked at the dim shop with confusion.

It didn't look like a legitimate business; they didn't even turn on the lights.

"Because the shopkeeper is a miser."

Ye Qiu chuckled softly, stepping forward, and responded to A Yin's thoughts.

The door was open.

Ye Qiu walked directly into the shop.

Inside the shop, there was only one person, and no counter was visible.

On three walls hung some items: long swords, shields, and so on, all looking very old.

They didn't look like valuable items at all.

The only person was sitting on a wooden reclining chair, eyes closed, swaying with the chair.

He looked to be about fifty years old, not young, but his build was very sturdy.

The seemingly sturdy reclining chair creaked under his weight as it swayed.

"Ye Qiu, why is this person so ugly..."

A Yin had been lonely for too long.

There was basically nothing good to talk about with Ye Qiu, so she could only offer sharp comments from time to time.

"He is indeed very ugly."

Ye Qiu smiled and agreed in his heart.

Flander's ugliness was quite distinctive.

His chin protruded slightly forward, his cheekbones were wide, his face was flat, and he had a bit of a hooked nose.

If one had to use something to describe it, then, one could only say his face looked a bit like a shoehorn.

If one had to use a creature to describe it,

Ye Qiu thought a goblin would be a good fit.

Flander wore a pair of black-rimmed crystal glasses.

The frames were the rigid square type, and no matter how you looked at it, there was a hint of slyness.

When Ye Qiu entered the shop,

Flander still kept his eyes closed, swaying in his chair.

Ye Qiu didn't disturb Flander.

He casually looked around the room and quickly found his target.

It was a crystal the size of a human head.

It looked unremarkable, transparent itself, but with large patches of dark yellow impurities inside.

It was hanging in the position closest to the door.

"Ye Qiu, you came for this crystal? Its quality is too poor, isn't it? It has no luster, poor transparency, and no color..."

"Stop talking for now!"

Ye Qiu interrupted the rambling A Yin.

A Yin's voice paused, and she opened her mouth reluctantly, wanting to speak but holding back.

Ye Qiu knew that Flander was a genuine swindler, and he couldn't expose his target as soon as he arrived.

Otherwise, he might be ripped off.

Although he wasn't short of money,

It was unpleasant to be treated as a gullible fool.

Even though the rutile quartz in his hand was very valuable, why not buy it cheaply if possible?!

Ye Qiu walked around the room, stopping and looking from left to right.

He could only complain in his heart.

These things were really too old.

Without holding them in his hand to try them, Ye Qiu wasn't sure if they could be used.

If it weren't for the fact that the other party was a respectable Soul Sage,

Ye Qiu would have doubted

whether these things of his were dug out of a tomb.

It was also difficult for him to collect so many scraps.

"What?! That person is a Soul Sage?!"

Upon learning Ye Qiu's thoughts,

A Yin looked in surprise at the shoehorn-faced man who had opened his eyes a crack and was secretly observing Ye Qiu.

She couldn't imagine

that there would be such a slovenly Soul Sage in the Soul Master world.

She had obviously forgotten

that there was an even more slovenly Titled Douluo, who smelled bad.

After choosing for a long time, Ye Qiu took down a decent-looking dagger from the wall and held it in his hand, gesturing with it a couple of times.

He feigned hesitation and looked around again.

Only then did he take down the rutile quartz hanging by the door.

After examining it for a moment,

as if he had made up his mind, he asked Flander:

"I want to buy this dagger and this crystal. How much are they?"

"Not expensive, two hundred gold soul coins in total."

Answering Ye Qiu was a lazy, slightly magnetic, hoarse voice.

"What?! These scraps cost two hundred gold soul coins? Ye Qiu, this guy is really ripping you off! Let's not buy it..."

A Yin said indignantly.

Ye Qiu rolled his eyes in his heart and continued his act.

With a troubled expression:

"Can't you make it cheaper?"

Flander on the reclining chair finally opened his eyes, but he didn't leave his seat, saying casually:

"Two hundred gold soul coins is already my lowest price."

"If you want to buy, pay up; if not, please leave."

After speaking, Flander closed his eyes again.

Ye Qiu hesitated for a moment.

Finally, he nodded, lifted the dagger in his hand, and said helplessly:

"Alright, then how much is this dagger?"

"One hundred and fifty gold soul coins."

Flander's indifferent voice sounded.

"Cheaper?"

Ye Qiu frowned.

"If you want to buy, pay up; if not, leave."

Flander lifted his eyelids and glanced at Ye Qiu, repeating the same sentence.

This time,

Ye Qiu agreed directly.

"Alright, I'll buy it."

"Ye Qiu! This dagger is not worth it at all!"

A Yin couldn't help but remind him.

Ye Qiu, however, ignored A Yin's nagging, took out a money bag from his soul tool, and threw it towards Flander.

At the same time,

he also went to the doorway and hung the item in his hand back up.

Crack!

Flander didn't even lift an eyelid, but grabbed the money bag in his hand, weighed it a couple of times, and then frowned.

His eyes snapped open, and there was no one in the room.

Only on the wall by the door,

hanging there was a dagger, while the rutile quartz had already been taken by Ye Qiu.

"Heh heh..."

Flander's shoehorn face was so angered that he laughed.

Looking in the direction of the door, he was quite interested.

That kid seemed to understand him well, actually pulling a stunt like this with him.

"An interesting little guy."

"However, I believe we will meet again."

A glint of shrewdness flashed in Flander's eyes.

As a Soul Sage, even though he couldn't see through Ye Qiu's cultivation, he could still sense that Ye Qiu was extraordinary.

So young, and still a Soul Master.

Shrek was about to start.

Flander's intuition told him that Ye Qiu would go!

A few hints of slyness flashed in his narrowed eyes.

---

...

"Ye Qiu, you are too cunning."

A Yin's voice was full of joy.

She patted her ample chest, feeling a sense of relief after a scare.

At that time, she thought Ye Qiu was really going to be the gullible fool.

It wasn't until she saw Ye Qiu hang the dagger back up

that she understood.

It turned out that Ye Qiu had known all along that this was a black market shop and had deliberately gone to look for that dagger first.
